7 day life changing journey with Paul in Rwanda
We searched carefully to find a reputable company, that understood our requests of what we would like to achieve for our 7 day safari into Rwanda. We were very impressed with Shadows and their very high quality informative well priced quote and in particular Paul’s recommendation to flip around the direction we explored so that we could capture exactly what we wanted.
We had been in Tanzania for 8 weeks, and so the 1st surprise was how different, modern, clean, green and 1st world Rwanda is by comparison. From all the reading we had done about the country before arriving it didn’t prepare us for what we saw.
Our main aim was to trek with the Gorilla’s in Volcanoes National Park – this experience WOW, was so awesome that there aren’t any words that can get close to how describing the feeling when you are first see them and sit amongst the family as they just hang out!!.
Our other surprise was the journey we encountered with Paul. As we visited different areas of the country, driving through villages, tea and coffee plantations, seeing Chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys etc, Paul shared more and more of his Rwanda, its history, the changes over the last 25 years since the Genocide of 1994 (a visit to the Genocide Museums in Kigali are musts), the justifiable pride Rwandan’s now have in their country – and some of Pauls own experiences. Our lives are changed immeasurably from our time with Paul.
He’s also the consummate fixer – after we started we wanted to add in cycling a section of the ‘Congo-Nile trail’ – Paul found us someone excellent and adapted our journey to fit this in.
In short, we highly recommend Paul personally, and we know he has a great team working with him in Rwanda, and he is supported by the wider team of Shadows in Africa. You can’t go wrong by joining up with him.

Once in a lifetime trip
As a part of our honeymoon, we did a 5 days Safari via Hans (we did the Safari itself with Albert). Hans was really great with organizing, both took care of us really well, each problem we had they solved, when we didn't feel well took us to the doctors. Amazing driver with great driving skills and very helpful.
Our tour guide, Mr. Williams, was great. Couldn’t have wished for a better one. He helped us to get our delayed luggage, recommended some safari lodges and brought us everywhere safe with his van. Communication with Maurice was great and everything was as promised.

Trekking in Kilimanjaro

Tanzania Adventure
We traveled as a family of 4 to Tanzania with Regional Tours and Safaris. We were hoping to witness the wildebeest calving season in Ndutu and also enjoy other wildlife attractions. We contacted Maturaf who took care of all our bookings and reservation for all the aspects of our trip.
When we got to Tanzania we were picked by a driver from the company who took us to our hotel in Arusha. We met our tour guide Novatus the following morning and he drove us to Ngorongoro crater where we enjoyed spectacular views from the rim and a wonderful game drive inside the crater. The following day we went towards the Ndutu area where thousands of wildebeest had congregated also drawing the main hunters – lions, cheetahs, hyenas and vultures too.
We enjoyed the safari and had no problems.
This was a great experience and we will come back some time.

The Tour of a Lifetime
We had the most wonderful safari experience with Migration Venture Africa on the classic northern Tanzania safari. We selected to work with Migration Venture Africa as they were highly recommended by our colleagues at work. Amos is easy to work with and he guided us in selecting a fantastic package that was within our budget and length of safari.
In our safari we visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti national parks which turned out to be a great choice for the abundant wildlife and beautiful sceneries. Thomas was our guide for and we loved him absolutely! He was punctual, drove the safari jeep (customized Toyota hardtop with a flip-up top, fridge, comfy seats, recharging points…..) carefully and took time to answer all our questions in detail. He is also an expert in tracking game because he seemed to have a sixth sense of where we could find the animals in the parks.
In general the small finer details made all the difference where all our hotel & Lodges, park fees were reserved were paid in advance, punctual pick-ups, experienced, fluent and knowledgeable guide and relatively new vehicle in top condition which I believe come with experience and expertise of handling safaris.
Very professional and highly recommended!

Another Fantastic Experience with Kwesa
This was second tour with Kwesa and that must count for something. Lazaro and his whole team are just amazing. We love that the company contributes part of the safari revenue to support the Kilimanjaro Orphanage Center where we also sponsor two lovely kids. This time we wanted to explore more of the Serengeti, visit Arusha National Park that we had not been to in the last trip and also spend some time with the kids at the orphanage.
Our flight arrived late in the night and we were driven to the tranquil Kili Cottages where we relaxed for the night and then taken to the airport for our small plane flight to Kogatende in Northern Serengeti. We found our guide Shabaan waiting for us and the adventure began. He drove us to special places where were away from any other crowds and yet we found plenty of game. This was the special African safari that we looking for! The endless vast grasslands of the Serengeti are still etched in my mind where animals were bountiful!
We flew back to Arusha after 4 magical days of exploring different parts of Serengeti and had a lovely day trip in Arusha National Park and then headed to Moshi in the evening. We got to spend time with our 2 sponsored kids on the last day before our flight and this was very fulfilling.
