The Garden of Eden is in Africa
Overall rating
5/5

I spent four nights at Mana Pools, in a tented camp overlooking the Zambezi River. During the day we had wild elephants roaming amongst the tents and down on the river flats. Sometimes they swam to mid-stream islands for better grazing. Impala, waterbuck and other smaller gazelles wandered in herds through the bush. At night you could hear the lions roar as they called to each other. Huge herds of buffalo emerged from the bush to drink at the water's edge. And of course the hippos wallowed in the river, or dragged themselves out to graze on the soft grass of the floodplain. All is as one, here in this Garden of Eden.

Sunsets over the river were each unique and beautiful, perfect for sundowners. Just outside the Park you could do night safaris: we saw a lion stalking a herd of buffalo, only to be chased off. One night we came across a male lion on the track. From a handful of metres away we watched as he lowered his chest to the ground and let out a series of roars that took our breath away.

During the heat of the day, in camp, you could sit and waste a lazy couple of hours watching the animals wander by the river on a scene that feels older than time. Everyone should go at least once to Mana Pools. And after you've been once you will want to go again.

Exciting day trip to Madikwe Game Reserve
Overall rating
5/5

In New Zealand we don't have big game so it has always been a dream to visit a wild game park if I ever managed to visit Africa. That dream came true in 2014 when during a business trip I did a day trip to Madikwe Game Reserve and then in May of 2015 another business trip to Botswana allowed me a return visit, taking along two work collegues. The experience on both occasions was one of total excitement and nervous exhilaration. To sit in an open sided vehicle within feet of large game like lions, cheetahs, rhino and giraffe is a chance of a lifetime. On both trips to the reserve, Franco our guide from Buffalo Ridge was just awesome, his wealth of knowledge about all the reserve's game and animal's habits was truly amazing and then to sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine, some nibbles and share a chat, just priceless.

About: Kenya
Marvellous Kenya
Overall rating
5/5

My recent trip to Kenya was an unforgettable adventure filled with diverse landscapes, rich wildlife, and warm hospitality. From the vast savannahs of the Maasai Mara to the breathtaking views of Mount Kenya, every moment offered a new and awe-inspiring experience. The wildlife safaris surpassed my expectations, allowing me to witness the iconic Big Five in their natural habitat. The local culture and traditions shared by the Maasai people added a unique and authentic touch to my journey. The accommodations were comfortable, and the delicious Kenyan cuisine further enhanced the overall experience. Kenya truly left an indelible mark on my heart, making it a destination I would eagerly recommend to fellow travelers seeking both adventure and cultural immersion.

Excellent company for safari!
5/5

We found this company over the internet and wrote to them. I had my flights to Tanzania booked and I needed a company to arrange the land portion but our trip but it had to fit with our flights. The land portion consisted of a 6 day safari plus 3 days in Zanzibar. Kilidove responded to my email immediately and I have been super happy with their service...from start to finish.

The Managing Director, George, responded to my email immediately and was very prompt with all of his correspondence (and believe me, I sent him a ton of emails asking him a million questions). He was patient and provided all the information that I asked. He revised the itinerary for me until I was perfectly happy. George arranged everything - the hotels, internal flights, and transportation to/from the airport/hotels....we didn't need to do a thing. He made our holiday totally carefree. He is a real asset to the company.

Our guide for the safari was Joshua and he was fantastic. Professional, on time, easy to get along with, and knowledgeable. He driving was wonderful (we saw other companies speeding). He picked us up at the airport and we were in his very capable hands for the 6 days of our safari. Don't forget to tip the guides as they do such a good job. We felt totally safe and we had a magical safari.

We were lucky that we didn't have a flat tire (that could happen to any jeep) but our jeep was in good shape which was a relief. I mention this because we saw a few other companies that were broken down....and you don't want to waste time trying to get your jeep fixed.

We chose to wire the money for the trip to George and, to be honest, I was a little nervous doing this but everything was easy and went perfectly.

Overall, I would highly recommend this company!!

About: Tanzania
A safari and beach adventure
Overall rating
5/5

We enjoyed our honeymoon in Tanzania. We opted for a 13 days safari and beach trip. We did 6 days on safari and the rest at Nungwi Beach in Zanzibar. Nungwi is a popular beach - we would go somewhere quieter if we could do it over. Loved our trip!

Review about Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by Denis D'Arbela

Well worth the trip off the beaten path. I stay at Broadbill lodge which is a tent overlooking the rainforest. Their hospitality was excellent. Meals were good and the accommodations provided a real coming feel. It rained at least twice a day. The vegetation was marvelous. A lot of Ephiphytes on the tree trunks. We trekked about 12 km roundtrip to see the Gorilla's on steep hills. Be prepared to bring rain gear because we were drenched on the way back. Also be ready physically because trekking can be quite a challenge. Birding was limited because of the tree cover in the Jungle I am sure that would be a separate trip altogether given the time frame of my visit. The Ugandan Wildlife Authority rangers are very versed and professional, and very informative throughout.

A beautiful destination for the nature lover who prefers rugged safari without the luxuries

This my second visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On my first visit I went on the game drive on the Mweya side and stayed at Mweya lodge which was great. Everything was rated for. Three wholesome meals and great accommodation. I took a boat tour down the Kazinga Channel where I was able to see a lot of game on the lake shore. Which includes Hippos, Elephants, Baffaloes, Crocodiles, and Birds (African Fish Eagles, Pied Kingfishers, Goliath herons, Pelicans, Spoon Bills, Jacanas etc)

My visit this time was at the Kisenyi gate. I stayed in more budget accommodation at the Njovu lodge near Lake Katwe. It was good for the price. I was able to hire a guide through the lodge as I was driving myself. I finally saw three female lioness' which I hadn't seen the first time, and more of the regular game of which included Elephants, Water buck, Uganda Kob, Buffaloes. I was also able to see Flamingoes which I hadn't before at Lake Katwe literally hundreds of them. It was well worth the visit. One needs to remember that every visit is different, and you always see something new every time you go.

An excellent experience planned by LS Company during which all arrangements were exactly as planned.
5/5

The LS Company could not be more helpful. The planning took account of all our wishes and they were executed as planned from hotel, safari, car rental, internal flights and driving instructions which were so helpful. Due to the flight delay from Paris (no blame to the LS Company) and very late arrival at Tambo (OR) airport, LS made immediate alternative hotel arrangements which at 3 a.m was exceedingly thoughtful. Through out the holiday LS's personal attention during the trip was very evident and one felt that we were always in strong hands to resolve any issue. We have travelled many times with various Travel Companies and I have no hesitation in writing that the Luxury Safari Company is at the very top. Rose Hipwood was quite excellent in all respects-nothing was too much for her to assist. Overall a 5* holiday provided by a first rate Travel Company.
