It was 13 of August of the year 2005 in Kenya and we were going south coming from Samburu NP and lake Naivasha, we ended up early on the afternoon on lake Nakuru. First thing we saw from afar was that pink colour that was spread all around in the lake. Our kind and gentyle guide said “flamingos, do you see them ?” It was one amazing sight.
We stayed in one excellent Lodge and enjoyed our tour there. On that wonderful landscape of the lake except of those amazing flamingos and some other birds, we saw rhinos, zebras, buffalos, waterbuks and baboons.

It was one great time !

Incredible! The pictures I took here are the ones that everyone cannot believe are real. Lions so close I could hear them breathing. Hippos, Hyeana, Serval Cat, Flamingos, Jackals, Baboons...just everything. Beyond belief. We stayed at Serena Ngorongoro and it was very nice and had an amazing view.

This was my favorite park. It seemed a little out of the way (maybe it was the direction we came from). We were one of only a handful of vehicles in the park while there. We must have seen a thousand elephants, they were just everywhere. We also saw a cheetah, impala, zebra, giraffe, a cobra going across the road and tons of birds. I don't even like birds and I found myself really interested in seeking them out here. They were very unusual and again, we didn't see the same ones anywhere else. We stayed at Tarangire River Camp which was perfect. We were actually the only people there due to the season. The staff treated us like family, food was great and we got to hear elephants and lions at night.

This was our first park. It seemed a little smaller than the others we visited but, it was much more lush. We observed a variety of baboon and monkeys here that we did not see elsewhere. Convenient to lodging and was not crowded at all. Great introduction. We stayed at Kirimuru Tents which was awesome!

If you have ever seen a documentary on the Serengeti....it is nothing compared to the real thing!!

I was somewhat concerned about going in May, as it is the end of the rainy season. We could not have asked for a better trip though. No rain, temperature was about 80 during the day, the Park was not too crowded and it was baby time in the park (which was awesome to see). I stayed 2 nights at the Serena Serengeti Lodge and really enjoyed the accommodations and especially the thrill of staying right in the park. Our guide Justin (Ranger Safaris) was terrific. He knew exactly where to go and always made sure we got our "shot". We were sad to leave him at the end of our trip. He really took care of us. Highlights were the Hippo Pool, seeing a pride of lions on a large rock and spotting a leopard and it's kill in a tree. We also did a hot air balloon ride. The scenery was beyond words and eating breakfast under a huge tree in the park made me feel like I was in a brochure. Words cannot describe the beauty here.

I loved it. The people were all very friendly, the food was great, tons of animals and for 2 girls on our own, we felt very safe! We learned a lot about Tanzania as a country, the way people live, etc. while there. I highly recommend this country.

An excellent park for most of Africa's animals.

We spent an excellent 2 full days here with Kiboko Safari tours (based in Lilongwe) in October 2010. The weather was hot, but not unbearable. We saw practically everything - hippos, giraffe, lions, zebra, crocodiles, civerts, many birds, elephants, monkeys, antelope, buffalo, chameleon, etc. The photos and video of what we saw are on here:

The journey from Lilongwe was about 5 hours, half on tarmac, half on dust roads. Our camp (Track and Trail lodge) was at the side of the river where the hippos spent all day and you could relax with a cool drink between the morning and evening game drives. The food was perfectly acceptable and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. All in all a great place to visit. We have previously visited Chobe, Kruger and Etosha, and this is probably our favourite of the 4.
