Okavango Serenity
Overall rating
5/5

We went to the Okavango Delta in February. We stayed in a riverside camp manned by Delta Rain. We were serenaded by the very friendly Delta Rain team when we arrived via jeep (after a 1/2 hour ride from Maun).

They then paddled us along the river to our camp in their mokoros. It was a tented camp, with real beds, mosquito nets & en-suite showers (rigged up in a tree branch & filled with hot water, heated on the fire). We cooked over an open fire and sang songs around the fire by night. During the day we explored the local bush on walking safari & rivers via mokoro, but apart from the odd Fish Eagle we saw very little wildlife - think that the rivers were high and we were just unlucky. Life out in the bush was great and really laid-back & relaxed. I would recommend it.

The last night we stayed at a hostel back in Maun and one of our friends (sleeping in a tent within the fenced compound) was robbed (laptop)and apparently it had happened before. So that was a bit of sad ending to an otherwise fantastic trip.

I loved Botswana, especially the Chobe National Park, where we saw an abundance of wildlife and in particular, elephants, monkeys, lions & hippo. We stayed in the North near Kasane.

A ride with wonderful horses, scenery, people and expectations that are fulfilled!
5/5

The guides(Andrew Gillies and Telane Greyling) are of the best !The horses are great - happy, sure footed, eager ! The food tasty! The back up staff always friendly and helpful! The riders are always interesting folk. The stretchers and bedrolls very comfortable , all the riders seem to love sleeping out under the stars!! The scenery spectacular, every day a visual suprise! The last day really is a good ending! The challenges while riding added to the adventure! And the footing on the last two days makes for the most wonderful fast canters, or gallops (you choose and your horse will oblige) .I have done this ride twice and it was my seventh ride with Namibia Horse safari!

Adventure for Life time in Rwanda
5/5

I traveled with African Jungle Adventure Company during my holiday in Rwanda last month. The was professionally organized, my Guide Kamya was so amazing, very knowledgeable about the country’s history, Culture and wildlife. Gorilla tracking was the highlight of my safari in Rwanda. I also saw chimpanzees in Nyungwe forest and golden monkeys in Volcanoes Park, all rewarding different experience. We traveled is a comfortable car Toyota Land cruiser, all lodges were all excellent, Nyungwe Forest Lodge was a real treat, especially having it all to myself on the second day of my visit. Gorilla View lodge could do with a refurbishment perhaps.

I had always wanted to visit Etosha ao i finally decided to do it. It was everything i expected and will keep the memories forever. Im a keen photographer and we saw plenty of wildlife on the wide open spaces. If i could, i would go back to Namibia and Etosha year after year.

Great scenery, few tourists
Overall rating
4/5

The landscape is really wonderful at Mountain Zebra National Park. It had the most beautiful scenery of all National Parks we have been in South Africa. Few tourists were there so it was relatively calm and a nice atmosphere. We made a game drive ourselves and saw of course Zebras, Red Hartebeests, Blue Wilderbeests, Springboks etc. The park is generally not cramped with animals but you'll get quite a few nice sightings. We also did a cheetah tour which is definitely worth the money. We drove with a guide and his assistant around in a safari vehicle until we got a good signal from the collar some cheetahs wear. Then we got out of the car and walked outside until we found it. I would have never found it without a guide. I stood quite a few meters aside from it but I did not see it until the guide exactly showed me where it is lying under the bushes. Their covering works really very good ;) The guides do also have signals of the lions that are living in the park. If their signal is too close then you can't get out of the car. They care very much for your security. Our guide was very good. Not only he showed us the cheetah he also told us a lot of interesting things about it and the other animals we saw during the driving part. All in all I can very much recommend the park with it's amazing scenery and especially the cheetah tour.

Wonderful park with lots of cats, elephants, and birds. Stay on the river at Track & Trail Lodge
Overall rating
5/5

Great park with heaps of animals. A brand new tar road leads from Chipata to Mfuwe which cuts down that drive time from 7hrs to 1-2hrs, but also increases the traffic in the park. Mfuwe airport is also an easy place to fly into on Pro-flight and many lodges offer pickup on the spot.

Park is known for it's cats. This park probably gives you the best chance of seeing lions and leopards. We drove into the park and immediately stumbled on 10 lions feeding on a carcass followed by a elderly leopard hunting. Birds are fantastic too, as always in Zambia. Lots of hippos, crocs and elephants. It can get crowded with safari vehicles in the busy season, but still enough lions to go around and the river at low water is beautiful.

Stay at one of the lodges on the river and you will not be disappointed -- I chose Track&Trail which was superb. I'm an avid photographer, but the owner is a real pro. Shooting with him, getting pointers, and most importantly having a photographer driving the vehicle made a HUGE difference. Elephants, hippos, and monkeys regularly walked through the camp. I packed my own food and camped on a platform at the lodge, but dinner at the lodge was great -- family style barbeque which was delicious and there was a great homemade aioli sauce.

I've also heard there are some great lodges in this area if you have small children. Ask the lodge if they have babysitting or nanny services.
