Spectacular but comfy adventure in the bush
Overall rating
5/5

I spent 3 days in the Bush with Sabi sands. Arrival in "bush taxi plane" was spectacular, and immediately I could spot my first lion. Guides were helpful and attentive, reserve had a very family atmosphere and food was great. And of course the wildlife was amazing, I could spot 4 out of the big 5 and come very close to lions and elephants. Great experience, I would highly recommend it!

I really liked the fascinating wildlife. I've seen places like South Afrika, Botswana and Namibia. To be honest: Kenia and Tanzania tops them all. More wildlife, more big cats, lots of birds. Fantastic. Sleep in a tent on an unfenced campground inside a National Park, being visited by elephants, hyena's, buffalo an lions. What more do you want? Seeing the big five in 1 day. Visited several local communities to see normal life in Kenia and tanzania. Fishing with locals for tilapia. Nice.

Zambia is not a ''hot'' safari destination which makes it still so wild, natural and beautiful.

The highlight for wildlife in southern Africa

Botswana has an amazing amount of wildlife. From the Okovango Delta to the Chobe River, and the savannahs in between, I have never been so astounded! There were so many amazing experiences on the trip - from being charged by an elephant to seeing lions on my birthday, it really was a trip of a lifetime, we even had a juvenile leopard come into our camp one night! The country is safe, the people are friendly, and the weather was perfect - cool nights and warm days. Bring your camera because you can't take a bad photo there! I loved the trip and can't wait to get back over!

In October, 2010 my wife and I traveled through Namibia with Rockjumper Tours on a wildlife watching expedition. This was our first trip to Africa and everything, from seeing hundreds of new birds to close encounters with lions and elephants, was great. We highly recommend this destination, especially if you are considering a first trip to Africa. Our tour company (Rockjumper) was super professional and our guide (Markus Lilje) fantastic.

Beautiful country, from white-sand beaches to parks & conservations that are ungated and left alone! I spent 12 hours on safari in Southern Africa, on paved roads, and didn't see lions or cheetahs! I spent 3 hours on safari in Tanzania, and saw a pair of cheetahs (and recorded their sweet cry to one another), lions, ostrich mating dance, a gazelle 20 feet up in a tree (killed and dragged up there by a leopard!) and a lion kill!!! We almost saw the full circle of life! Now if we could just see a birth!

Selous Game Reserve is one of Africa's best kept secrets. It is exspansive, pristine and breathtakin
Overall rating

Selous being the size of Switzerland is populated with no more than 170 people, we felt we were right in the heart of Africa, we felt privileged to experience the vastness of this untouched land.
Everything we experienced in Selous was second to none.

African Wilderness At Its Best
Overall rating
5/5

I stayed at the Rufiji River Camp which is one of the smaller camps in Selous. The proximity to the river meant we had the opportunity for a river safari and a walking safari as well as the traditional trips out on a 4x4.

Selous is wonderfully remote and we hardly saw another vehicle which in my opinion is the best way to experience a safari. The guides were good and spotted a lot of wildlife we may well have missed. The number of lakes meant there was always the chance to see wildlife and birdlife around there. We didn't see all the Big 5 but there were no rhino in the area where we stayed.

I loved my short stay in Tanzania and I will be going back.
