stunning location, remote, true africa!
I can say, I'm quite an experience Africa Traveller (many safaris over the last 15 years in Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Southafrica, Kenya). With the time my research for places with few tourists, an intact wildlife and a stunning scenery became always more sophisticated and so I decided this time for a safari in Zambia. The Kafue National Park, I stayed in the Busanga plains, have for sure been one of my most exciting safari experiences: in a park as big as the whole region of Tuscany there are merely a few camps (in the part where I stayed there where just 3 of them with a maximum of about 8 guests each). It is hard to meet another car out in the wild, not to speak about situations like in the serengeti, where you can find 25 car around a single lion...
I don't know whether it's ufficially permitted, however, the very experienced drivers go often offroad to take you closer to the animals - surely with few cars in this wast area this is not a problem. And it gives you uncredible photographic opurtunities. We came accross some lions hunting a hippo. We saw many elephants and also rare animals as the serval cat.
Of course also the "simple" luxury of the camp, the great food, the stunning location (elephants visit our tent many times, antilopes are grazing always in front of the camp in the great swamp area, added something to the feeling of "out of Africa". A highlight of course was the balloon flight.
The only real disturbing thing in the Kafue are the Tsetse flies. They where the first animal greeting us as soon as our plane landed and the pilot opened the window. That is when I got my first bite, many others followed. The area around the airstrip is worse, the guides know that and avoid it. But also in other places tsetse can be found (I never saw one in the camp). If I ever plan to return to Kafue I will prepare very well with even better safari cloths then those I already had and some really good repellent (but I'm not sure if it exists - autan and others do not help).

A magical experience
The Kruger National Park is a modern remnant of the Africa of old. Wild animals continue to roam and live freely in the area, and the entire cycle of life is on display for the visitor to see. The diversity of the scenery, fauna and flora is incredible. One can experience dramatic changes when travelling from the northern, arid mopane landscapes to the greener south. The roads are well maintained as are the rest camps. Key to maintaining places such as Kruger are the people working there, and as a South African used to mediocre service levels, I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism displayed by all the staff I had dealings with. Every time I return to Kruger I am reminded just how special this place is, and what an asset it is to not only the country, but to every person who has a love for the great outdoors.

Review about Zambia by catherina unger
Zambia for me is one of the best safari destination overall. Few tourists, great accommodations, wonderful wildlife, very well trained guides, wonderful nature. Only the infrastructure (moving between the national parks) is a bit complicated. There are no direct flight options between the parks (as there are in Tansania for example). You have always to return to Lusaka which is less fun...

Review about South Africa by Michael Tasseron
South Africa is one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. It has fantastic opportunities for people interested in all types of wildlife viewing.

Fantastic Safari and Kilimanjaro Climb
I can't say enough about how great our trip to Tanzania with Shadows of Africa was. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally. Our trip began with a five-day safari in Lake Manyara National Park, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with guide Siriko and cook Silvanos. Siriko was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We still can't believe how he managed to locate those leopards! His easy laugh and laid-back attitude made the experience very enjoyable.
The second part of our trip was the highlight, hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro in seven days via the Machame Route. Our head guide August has been guiding up the mountain for close to 20 years and his experience and calm demeanour inspired our trust. Assistant guide Amiri was equally capable and supportive, often setting the pace for our little group. Our guides and team of 12 porters, cook and server worked hard to make our lives easier.
Last but not definitely not least, we have to mention Natasha and the office staff in Arusha, who welcomed us back, allowed us to hang out at the offices and use the Wifi and loaned us a driver and vehicle for our last day before our evening flight back to Europe. Our trip was nearly over--they didn't have to be so accommodating, but they made us feel like family friends.
We would highly recommend Shadows of Africa for a safari and/or Kilimanjaro hike.

Overall we had a great experience. Everything went according to plan.
Our experience was wonderful. We were a party of three and went from Kampala to Bwindi Forest, to Queen Elizabeth National Park and finally to Fort Portal with Matoke Tours. Everything worked smooth and as planned. Our guide and driver, Katende Geoffrey, was fantastic in keeping us safe, interested (had a 13+ hours drive), well fed (webale muno Geoffrey for the pineapples and corn) and took care of each need we had. He went all the way from showing us and explaining about the birds we found in the road to leading a number of villagers on clearing a road of a fallen tree that was cutting the only road back to lake Mutanda.
We highly recommend Matoke Tours and thank them for a superb service.

Thank you for such an incredible trip!!!
This trip exceeded my husband's and my expectations! We did an 11 day trip exploring the beauty of Kenya and Tanzania. All the drivers, especially Joseph, were extremely welcoming. They were always willing to share their knowledge and did their best to find all the animals for you. We were able to see "The Big 5" within our first two days! Before the trip, Michael answered any questions we had, and he even met up with us a few times during our trip to see how we were doing. He also arranged seemless transitions as we switched from Kenya to Tanzania. We absolutely loved this trip and would book through Ancient Wild Safaris again!
