We went in November and the wildlife was mostly gone from the park. The scenic beauty and solitude of the park are unmatched though.

Self Drive Safari Dream
Overall rating
5/5

Moremi is a paradise for self drive safari-goers. We went in early November which is considered the off season, but, as such, there were very few people in the camps and on the roads. However, the wildlife viewing was second to none and because of the lack of people we enjoyed many sightings all to ourselves including a pair of lions, leopard in a tree on a kill and countless other non-predator sightings. Be sure to take a morning and go for a makoro (basically a wood canoe) ride through the channels. It was a very peaceful experience. Finally, the biggest advice for Moremi is to make sure you have a well equipped 4x4 and drive responsibly. While we never got stuck we did have to help get a couple get out of a mud hole that they had business driving through. The roads are tough, but if you are smart you'll have no problems.

Wow, this place was not as expected. A lot less animals than expected and while the boat trip was a different way to do a safari in africa, the commentary while on the boat was a real disappointment.

Chimps were fascinating and the natural surrounds were really lovely. A nice stopover between Kampala and the seeing the gorillas.

Impenetrable
Overall rating
5/5

Seeing the mountain Gorillas at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was an amazing experience. The area surrounding the national park is also spectacular, however there are distinctive areas to the park and getting between locations can take 3-4 hours! Choosing accommodation near the selected Gorilla location is a must, something we didn't appreciate and something our guides didn't arrange very well for us.

Wildlife is excellent - best worldwide. Scenic beauty - lovely. Birding in northern Tanzania really good most of the year.

From a photography point of view few destinations (in South Africa) can beat PGR.

We were unable to see many cats during our visit. The meerkats in Makgadikgadi brought the best out in all of us. We were also lucky enough to see an African Lynx while we were there. We prefer private drivers and moving from camp to camp with different guides was not as special as East Africa. Drivers seemed to give the same schpiel.

Uganda is an emerging tourist destination compared to its neighbours. Independent travel is definitely more possible here compared to the other locations and it is much cheaper. If you're going on safari, choose your company and accommodation wisely, it's a real mixed bag!

Great Company - Great Trip
4/5

We had a really good trip with Kilimanjaro Budget Safaries...it was well organized and all four of us reached the top of mount Kilimanjaro...thanks to the guides and their advice...
The food was amazing, we wouldn't have expected to get such nice meals on our climbing trip...also the porters were really nice.
I recommend the company...and would do a Kili-Tour with them again...
