well looked after
we wanted to see animals and were unsure about how and when and where, emcompass Africa took us under their wing and set up a perfect tour for us which exceeded our expectations at every turn. we were met by their people everywhere we went, at no time during the trip were we unsure of what was next or where we had to meet. I would never go to Africa again without their help and I am definitely going again. encompass Africa care.

Should be No.1 on any nature lover's bucket list
Returned to the Mara with my wife and four children after working in Kenya 21 yeara ago. We wanted to share our amazing experience all that time ago with our kids and the Mara certainly did not disappoint. Despite not seeing all of the Big 5 this time around we did get to see some fantastic animals up close. These included a mother with 3 baby cheetahs and 3 lion brothers stalking a herd of zebra. The undoubted highlight was a balloon safari over the savannah with Hot Air Safaris. This took off early so we could see the sun rise over Tanzania and Andrew the Captain managed to guide the balloon over a larg herd of startled elephants. Upon landing the 16 passengers were treated to the most amazing Champagne breakfast on the plain under the shade of a tree. We stayed at Ilkiliani Camp and were spoilt rotten by the staff there as the tourist numbers were down due to negative media reports regarding ebola and terrorism. Don't let this put you off going to this most wonderful place on earth which is far away from all the reported incidents. These are having an unnecessary detrimental impact on the wonderful people of this unmissable country.

Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Meru National Park
We had a very good time on safari with KenyaWalking. The safari was well organized and the guides Jeromiah and Clement made sure that we saw a lot of animals. The safari itself met our expectations to the highest. Timing for the driving can however be improved a bit :-).

Most Awesome Experience
I was very hesitant about using a tour operator where I couldn't walk into their office. I live in another state and my usual travel agent could not get us the type of holiday we wanted to experience in Africa. We had been one other time to Africa and used our normal travel agent and after that experience we knew we wanted something different. From my first dealings with Jonathan I could not have been happier. I think the fact that Jonathan was South African and had travelled to the countries he was trying to send us to that was of great help. I explained exactly what our family was after and we are a family of four travelling with two children at that time aged 12 and 11. Most tour operators didn't want to touch us given our children's ages but Jonathan immediately found a tour operator on the ground that had no difficulty in taking us on. We had not travelled to Tanzania before and I said to Jonathan we wanted something more rugged and didn't want 100 cars and 1 animal to look at. We travelled in the Serengeti and then to the Northern Seregenti towards the Kenyan border. Our experience was one in a million and when we travel to Africa again which we hope to be in 2016 I will definitely use Jonathan again. In our experience in Tanzania we hit the ground running in Arusha and stayed a lodge for the first two nights and then went out with Wayo Africa and did camping (like you do in Australia) but in the middle of no where with no one else around throughout the Serengeti. We did break it up one other time staying in a luxury lodge and that was nice. We used mobile safari tenting which meant we changed our camp several times during the 17 days in Tanzania and each had it's own unique experience. At each camp we arrived the tents and meal areas were already set up so there was no involvement by us in setting up the tents or cooking. I could not recommend this type of trip highly enough. Our first time in Africa we had stayed in luxury tented lodges and nothing compares to the type of trip we experienced through Encompass Africa. Our children absolutely loved the trip. I can say I had some trepidation about sleeping in a tent before we left, not worried about the animals out there but more that I was being a bit of a princess. Next time we travel I want the same experience because nothing beats having an area to yourself and you can go wherever you like. I learnt that you don't need a flushing toilet and a running shower because the experience you get on this type of trip is worth every minute of roughing it a little. Having said that we did not rough it when it came to food. I think I had better meals sometimes than I have at home without a hotplate, oven or microwave. On the ground we were looked after by Wayo Africa and we had a driver named James. He was terrific and it is your driver's experience that means you get to see things I think you would otherwise not see just based on their knowledge of the areas you are travelling in. James had been a driver for 10 years and I think we got along well as he also had a child and could relate to our kids. I know at the time when I made our booking with Encompass Africa I could not find any feedback good or bad about them and that did leave me with some nagging doubts but I was definitely proved wrong and in this day and age of the internet I could not recommend Encompass Africa highly enough. What are you waiting for, call them and get that dream holiday to Africa booked, you won't regret it.
