Working man has nothing to worry about!
5/5

My first time in Africa and I spent close to 7 days there. The most incredible event was a Safari trip with our friend for life Isaya! His knowledge and easy going attitude made that trip unforgettable! Just love the energy and hard work he is putting in to make the tourists happy!

The best tour to choose, most definitely!!!

Safari very nice. But a lot of administration with refund.
4/5

Our guide was great. Safari as well. But there was a lot of administration with refund. For example I do not understand why you asked your invoice from me. And refund took too long.

My operator Simon was absolutely incredible. He was kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel safe.
5/5

I had the most amazing trip of my life with my tour guide Simon from Qualified Tours. My 6 day private safari included Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro National Park, and The beautiful Serengeti. I saw everything including the BIG 5! All the other animals were amazing to see from the safety of my jeep including the Zebra, Giraffe, Baboons, monkeys, ostrich, hippos, cobra, Giselle, antelopes and warthogs!!! Simon took me to a single origin coffee farm and roaster, where I had the most incredible coffee of my life. He took me to the Tanzanite experience, the African Cultural museum, for a massage and sauna, and to meet the local Masi tribe, all while teaching me some words in Swahili. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was amazing and the service and entertainment was world class. I will definitely return and bring my friends. I have so many incredible photos of the landscape, the people, the lakes and the volcanos. My favourite part of the journey was my wonderful tour guide Simon!!!! Everything he did for me to make me feel safe and to insure that all of my needs were met was above and beyond. The people of Tanzania and Qualified Tours made my first trip to Africa one of the best times in my life! Thank you sooooo much Simon. Sincerely, Kia Kadiri (Vancouver, BC, Canada)

Qualified Tours : They kept chating with me everyday to check if everything is good.
Wildlife guide : Labuu was professional, helpful, cooperative and a very nice person.
Vehicle : 4 x 4 Toyota Land Cruiser, good, well equipped, minor problems were quickly handled by Labuu - Hakuna Matata
Accommodation : Generally very good and excellent in Kontiki camp & Lake Manyara Safari Lodge.
Food : Meals were delicious, and the buffet/kitchen staff in every lodge were really responsive to my wife's special diet requirements.
Recommendation: I would definitely recommend Qualified Tours if you ever think about a safari in Tanzania.

About: Kenya
Beautiful, geologically and biologically diverse country
Overall rating
5/5

I spent about 4 months (August to December) traveling in Kenya, visiting several different regions of the country from Lake Victoria to the Indian Ocean. I passed through Nairobi several times between different legs of the trip and I gradually became accustomed to the hustle and bustle. The roads were overall in poor condition when I visited in 2002, but they were dramatically better when I went back briefly in 2010.

While in Kenya, I snorkeled in the Indian Ocean, summited Mount Kenya, watched the big game in Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and near Tsavo, drank cow's blood with Maasai, camped and had an exciting close encounter with wildlife in Hell's Gate, and explored the rainforest in Kakamega. There is tremendous ecological diversity in Kenya- not just the classic savannah!

One of my favorite places was the island of Lamu. Nearly 10 years later, I sometimes still fantasize about the fruit smoothies they sell there. Delicious! If you have time, I highly recommend visiting the Kenyan coast. The history of trade is fascinating and the beaches are beautiful! Watamu was one of my favorites because you can easily swim to the reef for snorkeling.

Another highlight of the trip was climbing Mount Kenya. I went with two girlfriends and we hired a guide but no porters so we carried all of our own things. We only saw two other people without porters in the 6 days we were on the mountain, and we definitely felt like a bad-ass group of women. The climb up Mount Kenya was scenic and interesting- well worth it even if you don't get to the peak. Our guide was impressively agile and a great help.

I spent a fair amount of time in western Kenya, in the rolling, tea-covered hills between Lake Victoria and Mount Elgon. Kakamega Forest, a unique habitat in Kenya, has tremendous biodiversity. I am not a birder, but I know that Kakamega is one of the best places for birding in Kenya. One of my favorite memories is from walking up to a hill in the forest before dawn to watch the sunrise and see the mist and birds above the tree canopy. I loved Kakamega so much that I almost did my dissertation research there, but ended up working in Tanzania instead.

Throughout Kenya, I stayed in homestays, budget, or mid-range accommodations. I often took public transportation (for both long and short trips). The basics of Swahili are relatively easy to pick up, but most people in Kenya also speak English.
