Without match. If this is the one park you can visit for a safari, make it the Masai Mara.

Uganda - Birds, Gorillas, Big 5, Chimps, Chameleons & Mountains of the Moon
5/5

Crammy Wanyama is one of the best guides I've ever had. Right from the start, he customised an itinerary for us that allowed us to cover every single experience I wanted in Uganda, within three weeks and within budget: Gorillas, chimps, Mountains of the Moon’s botanical giants (unfortunately we only saw the Giant Lobelia), Big 5, chameleons, good birding (especially Shoebill), night drives/walks for nocturnal animals, Batwa pygmies etc. Other agencies I asked merely threw me their standard itinerary and hoped that I would bite. On tour, Crammy was accommodating and flexible, polite and informative, and a bird guide extraordinaire with great ID skills (song & sight), even when it came to raptors and waders. He uses site guides (multiplying the number of spotters), which is true eco-tourism as it brings income to the local community. His 10-seater van was comfortable and had a pop-up roof that was great for safaris. It also ensured that the four of us in the tour each enjoyed a window seat. Crammy also went the extra mile. When I was ill, he arranged for the hotel to make me citrus juice twice daily, which he claimed works wonders for him. It definitely perked me up too. He comes highly recommended by all four of us from Singapore.

One of the true hidden gems in Kenya

Meru is arguably one of the best Safari destinations in Africa. Sure, Masai Mara is more visually stunning, but the widllife in Meru is equally prolific. Especially if you're a birdy you'll have a field day here. Also, Meru is a lot more quiet in terms of tourist driving around. With luck you'll see one or two other vechicles on a game drive.

despite throwing together a plan to go on safari at the very last minute Savannah Explorers took myself my wife and my inlaws under the wing and gave us a week we will never forget.George our guide was supremely knowledgeable, enthusiatic, personable and a joy to spend time with. His skills in spotting animals and in seemingly always having us in the right place at the right time were almost supernatural.I cannot recommend these guys enough!

Excellent safari experience
5/5

Hoppy of Wildlife Safaris was an excellent guide. His amazing knowledge, his gracious helpfulness, and accommodating nature made our safari experience better than we could have imagined. The arrangements were very fine, and the experience far exceeded what we could have hoped for for the price we paid. Three days, two nights, of an adventure we will never forget.

Review about South Luangwa National Park by ~lustedtowander~
Overall rating
5/5

The South Luangwa River attracts heaps of animals, and one can camp just outside the park, on the banks of the river. It is my ideal safari experience, to be immersed IN the wilderness. No need to drive all day. Just live in the outdoors and be an organic member of it all.

An amazing - all singing all dancing - African experience....!
5/5

I spend 4 weeks on the road with Bella and Jan and it was in one word 'amazing'. I loved the Land Rover that was given to me. The meals prepared by Bella were deliciously tasty. Jan did excellent trip briefing before we took off for our daily drives. There was a good, full programme with things to do and see. Thank you for an fabulous time. Hope to do it soon again....!
