Amazing experience and very kind and responsive staff.
5/5

We had a great experience on Topy Tours in the Serengeti, with our tour guide Filemon. File was very friendly and shared lots of interesting facts with us, and was happy to go for as short or as long a day as we liked. We had the most amazing time and really enjoyed it, it was super special! Topy Tours is Tanzanian owned, which we liked, rather than supporting foreign owned companies.

Top Class
5/5

We had an amazing experience with Serengeti Smile. The organization, communication and professionalism was second to none. We loved our accommodations, meals and were treated like royalty by the fabulous staff in each place. A special mention for our guide, Pius. We felt so safe with him. His expertise, knowledge and skill was exceptional. He did everything in his power to ensure we got the best experience possible. We will never forget this experience in your beautiful country.

The Perfect Safari
5/5

I was very impressed from point of booking until the very end. Peetah couldn’t have been more helpful when I booked, answering all the ridiculous questions I had, he even met us before we set off and at the end of the trip!
George our driver was incredible, extremely knowledgeable about the animals and could spot them a mile off, he accommodated all of our requirements whilst on the road and he was polite and always helpful.
The accommodation on the trip was superb and honestly I can’t find fault with any of the trip! I will be using this company again.

Kibwana was great and had our needs and wants in mind and made our stay wonderful.
5/5

The reliability of the guides was heart and the experiences that I made were wonderful. In lushoto town you can do a heart deal of souvenir shopping but also see how the locals live. The amount of tourism is not that significant there, if that’s what you like. The prices are also not crazy expensive. The overall time we spent in the mountains was breathtaking and never forgettable

Awesome Company - Mount Kilimanjaro
5/5

I can’t begin to say enough good things about Arem Safaris and the entire crew there. I was one of a group of 10 people who enlisted the help of the good people at Arem Safaris to help us realize our goal of making it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful, the cooking staff made us meals that were excellent (especially considering our location), and the porters who did most of the heavy lifting (literally) were second to none. Out of the group of 10, all 10 of us were successful in reaching the summit which speaks volumes to the expertise of everyone at Arem Safaris. They were awesome, highly recommended.

Asante Sana! - Mike

Much room for improvement
3/5

Hi,
I did a group tour with Jocky Tours and Safaris: 7 Days Masai mara/Nakuru/Naivasha/Amboseli. This was my first ever safari, and I followed this with another safari in Tanzania and a Mt Kenya hike with a third company. This safari I rated 3/5 stars, the Tanzania safari 2/5 stars and the Mt Kenya hike 5/5 stars, and I’ll tell you why. Firstly the pickup was 40 minutes late and the excuse was an obvious lie - said to be a car crash but there were alternative routes and the route that was said to have had a car crash had no signs of one (we went this way after he picked me up). This wasted time and waiting around unfortunately was the main theme for this safari - very frustrating. Other team members were often staying at different accommodation and we spent much time just driving between accommodation on dreadful “roads” that had been washed out by recent flooding but also waiting on others to join the vehicle over and over! For example, waiting for nearly an hour outside the Masai Mara gate for one person to join the rest of us. This person was also waiting at his accommodation (under instruction) while we were all waiting for him! Such stupidity of logistics that could so easily be avoided. And we could have driven into the park and looked at the wildlife while we waited for him there and he could have joined us by getting a lift in another company vehicle but no! What really grinded my gears is that the best times of the day for viewing wildlife in action, and in the best light for just viewing and for photography are early in the day and late in the day, and these times and opportunities were repeatedly wasted. I thought perhaps this company was just a bad egg, but the safari in Tanzania was worse - mainly because of the guide who talked bullshit answers when he didn’t know the answers - I happen to be an ecologist who has worked in multiple countries so I often knew more than he did and when he didn’t know what he was talking about. The guide on Mt Kenya said he didn’t know the answers to my questions sometimes and I respected this honesty. Big cats were the priority by far but some people really want to see other wildlife too like elephants, giraffes and birds. We spent a lot of time driving past magnificent wildlife just to watch lions sleeping. My recommendations to Meru Slopes unless you want people to choose other companies like I wish I had: don’t waste peoples time and take advantage of being on safari during the early hours from dawn and then again in the last few hours of daylight. The middle of the day is terrible for wildlife action and photography. Ask people what animals they want to see rather than assuming lions are #1 for everyone. Choose guides that are local (driving a 4WD isn’t that hard, and the Masai people should be employed as the Masai Mara was their land) and perhaps also with relevant degrees in ecology for example - although the local Masai already have a culture of knowledge regarding the wildlife there. This tour has such potential and variety. Until these changes are made I recommend trying a different company or paying more for a private safari.
Cheers,
Grant

Happy, caring, fun and a great driver!
5/5

Everything was perfect! Communication, comfort, consideration in fact we didn’t leave the park until we saw a lion … customer satisfaction! 😁👍

We live both Tanzania and Rwanda. The hot air balloon ride was another level!

Roadside were exceptionally in archival our requests and even at the last minute! Laurian made sure we had anything we needed and altered eating venues at our request. Just perfect!

One thing about Tanzania and Rwanda driving time distance is it is a lot longer than what google maps says! We were expecting a 20 minute drive (was 1 hr) ; 2.5hr (was 5hrs) the longest drive ended up being 7 hrs. So be prepared for the slower roads especially in Rwanda!

7 day Best of Tanzania and Kenya Safari - Very good communication and reliable
5/5

Excellent tour and strongly recommend. Communication was good so tour planning was very easy. I wanted to see great migration and Nicholus was constantly checking the status and moved one night stay to northern Serengeti to be able to see the great migration in early October. Good value to see both Maasai Mara and Serengeti.
