The weather the day we went was nice and warm and the spray of the water cools you off nicely. Best time to go see the falls is when their was massive rains then the river is full and you can see most of the falls.
To see with what force the water falls down that massive drop is just awesome the noice is thunderous and you don't get to see that everyday.

During our walk on an 5km trail we did not see much wildlife, but the fall is very impressive.

I am quite sure my rating would be much hire, if I had visited Southafricas Top-destinations in wildlife! ( Addo-Park, Krüger-Park) Unfortenately they were not on my route ( Cape to Namibia), but what i ´ve seen makes me wanna come back some day.
The Kgalagadi is quite nice with larger number of predators, but we had not much luck there. The stuff there was very nice and i love the red soil of the Kalahari. For me the most beautiful part of the soutafrican part of the trip was capetown and the wonderful table mountain scenery! It was much safer, than I thought before!
My wife enjoyed the Namaqualand with its flowerful deserts most! But to see this, you have to visit it during spring!
Most of the streets were easy to drive. In Kgalagadi it was a bit difficult! One amusing thing: Our 4x4 was equipped with winter tyres, which was not the best choice with temperatures up to 35 Celsius.
But we finished safe, and enjoyed our journey very much!

Great place for a walking safari

We went for a walking safari to Mosi-oa-Tunya national park, got up early and a car picked us up from our accommodation we were with another 2 couples. After we got there started walking the scenery was beautiful but we did not see too many animals, after being in Ngorongoro crater in Tanzania it was a bit disappointing but overall we had a great day and it was a good value for money, would recommend if you are interested in going on a walking safari.

Wildlife going up and down from the forest to the river and vice-versa, with boats and 4x4s "circumnavigting" all the animals.

Guide was great and knowledgable, but we so zero lions or leopards.

Don't get me wrong, the park, accomodations, and guides are all wonderful, however due to years of poaching, lions, and leopards are scarce. Also, smaller elephants have bred since the larger ones with tusks have been killed off. The elephants that my wife and I saw were without tusks. It was very unfortunate.

Please support South Luangwa National Park by going to visit, just be sure to keep an open mind and a heavy heart for these animals and this area.

Park and accomadations are great, but the animals have been greatly reduced over the years. My wife grew up in Zambia and recalls a much more populated national park.

Kruger has its lovers and haters, but it is the most awesome self-drive wildlife destination due to its sheer size and variety. Though you do have to put up with lots of regulations, and plenty other road users. Not all of them mechanized...
