Nature's Majesty: Expedition Through Africa's Wildlife Paradises with Meijo Safaris and Assad
We recently had the pleasure of doing our first safari in Tanzania. And it was more than extraordinary. From start to finish, this safari exceeded all our expectations.
Itinerary and Activities:
The itinerary was perfect-planned. Since the first contact with Michael of Mejio Safari's we got a lot of suggestions, uncomplicated and directly response so we could figure out our prefect individual Safari. Unfortunately one of our bags didn't reach out our destination due to a mistake of the airline. So Michael helped us out and managed the whole process so we were able to get the bag as early as possible back. An additional positive aspect were the way they do they do their "lunchbags". Different to the others they had meddal boxes which were filled by the accommodations - instead of paperboys with sandwiches like a lot of others we saw at the lunch-breaks.
Our Guide Assad:
He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the wildlife and ecosystem. He had always an answer for all of our questions - no matter which topic - and inspired us with his love of wildlife and especially the Serengeti. For us he was not only the guide, he was more than that. He was our Swahili teacher, dictionary, and encyclopedia all in one, always eager to create a positive atmosphere and help us make unforgettable memories. Assad is a very warm-hearted, well prepared and organized professional. In addition it should also be mentioned that he's speaking very good English.
Wildlife Experiences:
The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the wildlife sightings. We were fortunate to see the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and last but not least the rhino—along with countless other animals. Each drive brought new surprises, making every outing exciting -
not just because of the animals but also because of the landscapes.
Accommodations:
The lodges we had individually chosen were in different categories. What they had really all in common: The staff were super warm and attentive to make us feel comfortable. Each evening, we enjoyed delicious meals and they prepared the lunch for the following day. The rooms/tent we had were all perfectly clean with warm-water and W-Lan even though you were partly in the middle of nowhere. We really had nothing to complain.
Overall Experience:
5of5 Stars of Experience as well as 5of5 of Big Fives :)
We always will remember this incredible Safari. Big thanks for that to our Meijo Safari's and especially our guide Assad!

Don't ruin your vacation
1. They told me that I would be staying at a guesthouse and when I arrived I was staying in a tent. 2. the safari was very short, everything was at speed. we left in the morning at 8 and at 2 pm we were already at the accommodation. 3. our guide (KARIM) didn't speak English, he was driving fast, I had to tell him to stop so I could see the animals. unfortunately my safari was a disaster

Amazing!
We booked our safari with JT Safari's, which is across the street to our resort, Neptune. Julius made sure we had an amazing guide for a 3 day safari through Tsavo and Amboseli. Our guide was Joseph: a great guy and very knowledgeable. Would absolutely recommend!

Good organization
We can recommend a tour with Taste of Kilimanjaro. Edwin put a lot of effort into it and the organization worked very well. We were picked up on time at the border between Kenya and Tanzania and before the tour everything was explained to us well and we were helped to borrow the necessary clothes. Our crew was very helpful during the climb and we were treated like kings. After the tour, Edwin organized the onward journey to Mombassa for us. Thank you again for everything!

Road trip of a lifetime
We just came back from our 4 day safari tour. Everything was great and it was an unforgettable experience. Our guide, Justin, was very professional and experienced. He and his assitant Ombeni made us feel safe and comfortable. We were lucky to see the big 5 and observe most of the animals up close. We are very happy that we chose serengeti smile and we recommend it to everyone. Tanzania, the people and animals will always remain in our hearts.

Nice Safari from Mombasa to Nairobi
We did a very cool Safari from Mombasa to Nairobi. We visited 3 different Nationalparks. Everyone was different. Because of our Guide Goffrey we got. To See the Big 5. He did everything he could to find the Lions for us. In the End we Even saw 8 of them. The Lodges were very nice. In the Evening even the Wildlife visited. It was an wonderful experience.
We were very happy with our tour and can only advise it. We had a Great Time.

Godlisten is an absolutely amazing guide that made this the trip of a lifetime.
Godlisten is fantastic! Every day he managed to get us to something spectacular. We saw the wildebeests crossing within half hour of reaching the Mara River, had an entire pride of lions to ourselves (including the cutest baby cubs we have ever seen), and saw every animal possible including the rare caracal cat and several black rhinos. The food was spectacular, scenery amazing, and his knowledge and experience always landed us in the right place at the right time. We quickly learned on this trip that it is the guide that makes the difference - and spoke with many people with other guide services that unfortunately missed out on so much. He is the only guide that we will ever consider in our future Tanzania travels.

Not suitable for a couple's getaway
My fiancé and I booked a 6-day Kruger safari with Wild Planet Safari and we were so excited! Unfortunately, we were disappointed and ultimately, I do not recommend this company.
I will say that the safari guide was super knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions regarding wildlife.
I think the biggest problem we had is that we went as a couple, and it was not specified that all three meals would be eaten with the guide and his assistant. We were looking for a more intimate experience at dinnertime under the stars with a bottle of wine.
In general, we also had problems with the included food; the “friendly coffee gatherings” – as to quote the day-by-day itinerary– in the early mornings, for instance, consisted of instant coffee served in tin cups. (All coffee drinkers will agree that instant coffee is terrible). I had pictured sharing a hot thermos filled with freshly brewed coffee. There were coffee shops at the camp sites, so this could’ve easily been arranged.
Some of our food and drink requests (which were approved prior to the safari) were not met; and there were no crackling fires and bonfire glows at nighttime, as to quote the safari description. The owner (who was very defensive when I emailed her afterwards) told me that because of a cold front (which only started at the end of our safari), it got very windy and they could not risk lighting bond fires. She also said our opinions were molded by the cold weather when we had packed long layers, gloves, jackets, etc. just to be on the safe side.
Whoever wrote the safari description is a fantastic writer because we didn’t even think about asking questions re: coffee and fires (etc). I really fell for the beautiful, idealized descriptions of the itinerary.
There were a couple of other little things, such as a missing bottle of wine, some terribly overcooked steaks (I find that mind boggling, because the cook asked us how we wanted it prepared and we said “rare” and “medium”, yet everything steak came out identical); and I still don’t know what happened to a dinner salad that supposedly went bad. I eat TONS of fruit and veggies, so yes, it was THAT important to me.
They do get 5 stars for providing us with great wine in the evening though :).
So if your heart is set on visiting Kruger, I strongly urge you to choose another company.
