Amazing experience - bad organisation
2/5

I did a 6 day safari and the organisation here was very poor. Despite being assured i’d have plenty of time for my flight out of kenya, i almost missed my flight whilst the driver insisted in dropping every other person off first as it was a more convenient route for him (they were travelling between 4 hours to 1 day after me, so not urgent and dropping me off first would have added max 15mins to his driving). Everyday of the safari there was a late pickup, a failure to communicate changes in the schedule. What was worse that the driver generally seemed to have not been told, or had forgot, the agenda of my tour from the africa flash so was constantly asking me things I had not been told either (eg the name/phone number of the driver i was going to be dropped off with for the next days, where the meeting point was).

I’m an easygoing traveller and usually dont mind this sort of thing on normal holidays but when you’ve paid a lot of money (as these safaris are expensive) you do expect that the organisation at the very least would be in place.

In retrospect, i think it would have been less stressful and cheaper booking the hotels, transfers and safaris myself. Even one of the hotels I booked in the tour was not where I ended up staying because according to the tour operator supposedly the hotel had overbooked so I needed to be moved to another hotel (given all of the other things i experienced - i suspect that they had just failed to book my hotel).

I’m giving it two stars because despite my complaints above i did have a wonderful experience, i’m just not sure how much the tour organiser contributed to that.

Friendly, knowledgable and go out of their way to make sure you have the best experiences in Tanzani
5/5

From the moment we met the team ( champagne reception at the Safari truck) to the day we had to say goodbye, our time was full of laughter, fun. Amazing sightings of animals, scenery and great accommodation. They went out of their way to ensure our time in Tanzania was memorable.
The little touches like the picnic hamper full of goodies and lovely food. Joining us for breakfast and dinner, All added to the experience.
And we have taken amazing photos to keep those memories alive .
Special thanks to Saitoti, Gerald and Gift. We are definitely going to return in the future.

We visited Lamu Island in Kenya as a part of our Kenya/Tanzania trip and Abigail provided us with all the necessary support (hotel bookings, transfers, etc.). We had a wonderful trip with everything well prepared. We appreciated the personal approach!

Masai Mara National park with Cytravel!
4/5

Fantastic trip a lot of different animals in the park. Generally I liked it. Suggest to take always good camera with you.
Also I liked the way from Nairobi to park, because it is possible to see the real African culture and lifestyle.
Generally my expectations approved, but the price for this trip too high.

Exceptional
5/5

This was the second time I travelled with Felix of Green Planet Safaris. As always the care taken in developing a tailored program was excellent and once there every detail of the journey was attended to with great care. Accommodation was of an excellent standard and the wildlife viewings superb. Felix is not only superbly skilled at finding the sightings, but at sharing information about each animal or bird sighted and always has an eye for the best way to position the vehicle to ensure excellent photo opportunities, which is very important to me as a photographer. Whether we had driven through mud or not, the vehicle was always impeccably clean for each drive. The two week trip was an absolute delight, superb value for money and I would not hesitate to book with Green Planet Safaris again. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for the safari experience of a lifetime.

Great customer service.
4/5

We were referred to Mike by a trusted friend, and he's proven to be exceptional. His customer service is accommodating and responsive. We tested him with a multifamily trip on short notice, and despite last-minute changes, he handled everything calmly and efficiently. He kept in touch throughout the trip, resolving any issues that arose. As long as you communicate your standards clearly, you're in good hands with Mike.

The best guide ever, Michael Njoroge!
5/5

My daughter, granddaughter and I went on safari in the National Park in Nairobi on November 3, 2024.
The experience was wonderful and that was mainly due to the wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly guide we had.
Michael Njoroge made the safari even more special by sharing a lot of background knowledge about the country and the animals.
He did everything he could to find the best places to take the photos and films.
But the best part in my opinion was that he is a GREAT driver, who managed to drive the worst road sections in the smoothest and safest way.
He is incredible kind and patient and gave us a wonderful experience.
The service was excellent!!

Perfect three day Safari in Nyerere National Parc
5/5

Our 3-day safari in Nyerere National Park was an absolutely unforgettable experience! The variety of animals we were able to observe was impressive – from elephants and giraffes to lions and countless bird species.

Our stay at the Selous Safari Lodge was wonderful. The lodge is authentic and charming, and we felt perfectly taken care of right in the middle of nature.

I can’t understand the negative comments about simple meals and insects at all. Some people seem to forget that we’re in Africa, where resources are often limited. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The employees are extremely friendly and make every effort to keep insects away as best as they can.

A huge thank you goes to our tour guide Jafari! He made these three days a unique experience. His knowledge about the animals and African culture is impressive, and you can feel his passion for his job in every moment. He told us so many fascinating stories and brought us closer to nature and culture in a very special way.

A small tip: Definitely ask for the guide Jafari – we couldn’t have had a better one.

@Jafari: We will never forget you and sincerely hope that our paths will cross again. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple leaf to put a smile on people’s faces.
