The best experience ever!
5/5

The best experience ever!!! I wouldn't change a single thing about my trip—it was simply perfect. One of the most important aspects of a great safari is having a knowledgeable and personable guide, and Nanyaro exceeded all our expectations. He was not only incredibly skilled and insightful during the game drives but also made our entire journey unforgettable with his warmth and enthusiasm. We had such an extraordinary experience, and for that, we are deeply thankful. The memories we've made will last a lifetime. We sincerely hope to return in the future, and when we do, it will undoubtedly be with Big Life Safari, with Nanyaro as our guide once again. We couldn't imagine it any other way!

Efficient and professional
5/5

We booked the 4-night stay at the Raddisson in Hoedspruit, including roundtrip flights from Cape Town. MoA handled our booking efficiently and professionally, with Lavender in the main office being particularly helpful, including prompt responses via email to our many questions.

The tours themselves were well-managed, with excellent guides, especially Evince (probably misspelled -- sorry), whom we had twice, and who was extremely knowledgeable about the animals, and where to look for them. But the other guides were also quite good.

The sunset drive was spectacular -- as perhaps was to be expected in a private reserve where the animals are more constrained. But so was the full-day safari in Kruger NP the next day. It helped that the weather was cloudy. The Panoramic Route on Day 3 was well worth it and a welcome break; bring hiking gear. Our second Kruger safari on Day 4 was nice but not as good -- it was simply too hot, so fewer animals and more discomfort. The guide did what he could, but we gave up a bit early. We didn't bother with the sunrise drive our last day, choosing to sleep in and enjoy the outstanding buffet breakfast, rather than getting up at 5 with a decent but unexceptional packed breakfast. But others who went said it had been worth it -- not surprising, since it was back in the private reserve.

Flying directly to Hoedspruit (HDS) was a definite plus, as the airport is only 15 minutes from the hotel -- and has a surprisingly nice gift shop as well as decent food for what is essentially a 1-room airport. Everyone else in our group flew to/from Johannesburg, requiring a 5-hour drive. And the Raddisson can only be described as luxurious, with excellent service (and food).

Minor glitches did occur: We didn't get lunch until well after 2 PM on our first day in Kruger. Our guide for the Panoramic Route found a leak in a tire before we started, causing a delay as he stopped to change it -- but better that than the alternative. And, unlike others in our group, we were never sent a detailed schedule, showing estimated pickup and dropoff times. But none of these would cause us to downgrade our rating.

An Unforgettable Safari Experience with our Exceptional Guide Antony
5/5

From the very beginning, Meektrails exceeded our expectations with their professionalism and warm, personalized service. Eliud was incredibly responsive during the planning process, accommodating all our requests with patience and flexibility. No matter how many adjustments we made, he consistently worked with us to shape a tour that was exactly as we’d envisioned. By the time we received the final itinerary, it was perfectly crafted, and the tour itself unfolded seamlessly.

The actual safari experience, however, was even more incredible, largely thanks to our outstanding guide, Antony. From the first day, Antony was more than just a guide—he became a trusted friend, making us feel safe, comfortable, and valued at every step.

With decades of safari experience, Antony’s expertise was evident from the start. Not only did he help us spot all of the Big Five, but he also introduced us to an astonishing array of other wildlife, turning each game drive into an exciting adventure. His deep knowledge of animal behaviors added a rich layer of understanding that made our safari immersive and engaging. His familiarity with the terrain and hidden trails allowed us closer, more intimate encounters with wildlife, navigating us efficiently and smoothly even through winding, remote paths. Antony seemed to have a mental map of Kenya that even Google Maps couldn’t match. His highly trained driving skills meant that we were able to really get ahead even in the worst of traffic jams packed with large trucks. We were able to capture amazing videos and photos, thanks to his skillful navigation and expert timing.

One of Antony’s most remarkable qualities is his commitment to sharing an authentic Kenyan experience. Beyond the wildlife, he introduced us to the culture, traditions, and everyday life of local communities. We cherished the conversations over meals, where he shared stories about Kenya’s history, his views on politics, and even anecdotes from his own life. These personal insights were as enriching as the safari itself, giving us a fuller appreciation of Kenya beyond its beautiful landscapes.

Given Antony’s extensive experience and social network in the safari industry, he is highly regarded in the safari community. His great character, friendliness, and professionalism have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues throughout the towns and safari parks we visited. It’s no surprise that he knows almost everyone in the area—other guides, park rangers, and locals—and this network of relationships truly enhanced our experience. Whenever there was additional information or insights to be shared, he was always in the know, ensuring we didn’t miss a thing. This connectedness meant we received the best possible guidance and up-to-date information, further deepening our understanding of the wildlife and the areas we explored.

Another standout quality of Antony is his approachability and flexibility. He never pressured us into making any decisions. Whether it was planning the day’s safari schedule or choosing where to shop for souvenirs, he always provided his honest opinion and valuable advice, but left the final decision up to us. He always made sure that we were comfortable, happy, and fully satisfied with the plans, and that level of respect and care made the entire experience even more enjoyable. His favorite reassuring phrase, “hakuna matata,” reminded us we were in good hands and could simply enjoy the experience.

We were especially touched by Antony’s kindness and generosity. He went out of his way to ensure we supported local artisans and avoided tourist traps, taking us to authentic spots where we could connect with the local community. At one point, we requested a quick change in our itinerary to visit a nearby orphanage. Antony graciously accommodated this, even though it meant arriving late at our next destination and sacrificing his own rest. His compassion extended to everyone we encountered—even children along the way, whom he would often help with small acts of kindness, such as offering water or sharing advice. He himself also talks about his support of 3 other children in their education financially on top of his own 3 children. This brought so much warmth to our hearts and we wish to be as kind as he is.

Antony is wholeheartedly committed to his guests. Throughout our 8-day journey, he made sure our vehicle was ready before dawn, ensuring we were among the first to enter the game drives. His dedication meant we had the best chance to see active wildlife before they retreated for the day. His thoughtfulness extended to meal arrangements too—he always prioritized our comfort, sometimes adjusting schedules so we could enjoy hot meals rather than cold packed lunches. This level of care and attention made our trip truly exceptional.

Antony’s infectious energy brightened each day. He greeted us every morning with a smile, and his laughter, dance moves, and surprisingly impressive singing filled our days with joy. His personality was just what we needed to keep our spirits high on long road trips.

When we began the trip, we were uptight, anxious, and perhaps a bit controlling—a couple of city people used to a fast-paced, organized world. But as the days passed, something changed. Surrounded by the vastness of nature and grounded by Antony’s warmth and wisdom, we gradually let go. By the end, we felt lighter, open-hearted, and fully relaxed, meeting every new experience with kindness and joy. The trip was more than a vacation; it felt like a healing journey that opened our hearts in ways we never expected.

We are incredibly thankful and fortunate to have had Antony as our guide. Our safari trip turned out to be so much more than just a wildlife adventure—it was an educational, eye-opening, and soul-fulfilling journey. We learned about the beauty of nature, the richness of the local culture, and the deep connection the people of Kenya have with the land and animals. Thanks to his expertise, warmth, and genuine kindness, we left with unforgettable memories and a deeper understanding of this remarkable part of the world.

If you’re looking for a guide who will not only show you the wonders of the safari but also enrich your understanding of Kenya’s culture and people, we cannot recommend Antony highly enough. His deep industry knowledge, impeccable character, and wide-reaching connections within the safari community made our experience exceptional. Our time with him was truly extraordinary, and we will forever be grateful for a great friendship and the incredible journey he made possible.

We miss Anthony so much and it feels so strange to not be with him anymore. We look forward to visiting again next time to see our friend Antony again.

The tour operator was great, surprising and adventurous!
5/5

The safari in the Masai Mara was an unforgettable experience. Evans, our guide, was amazing! Professional, kind, and also very funny! 🤗

We were incredibly lucky: among the others, we saw a leopard, a cheetah, a rhino 🦏, lions and lionesses. On the first day, we enjoyed a breathtaking sunset over the savannah.

At the camp, the staff were friendly and welcoming.
One small thing to note: in the camp they boiled non potable water and they use it for coffee and té. Anyway, no one got sick; I'm just mentioning it as something I noticed. However, this was only a minor issue, as everything else was wonderful.
The food was simple and good.
The tend was simple and clean, with a private bathroom and hot water.
I suggest bringing a small flashlight.

Cannot recommend highly enough
5/5

We had a wonderful tour in Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara with Earthwings. Martin was excellent at speaking through all of the arrangements and setting up the booking before we arrived. Especially as we had quite specific requirements as we were travelling with our 9 and 6 year olds and wanted to make sure we included a variety of activities for them, but nothing was a problem to be organised. The tour itself was excellent - our driver Fredrick was very knowledgable and friendly, and was great with our kids. The 4x4 vehicle was perfect for our trip, and was in great condition and comfortable. All of the itinerary ran like clockwork - we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Thanks very much Earthwings, and hope to visit again!

7-day wildlife and outdoor activities safari tour
5/5

We have long wanted to visit Africa, but did not know which country to start with.
Friends who have traveled to many African countries advised us to start with a safari in the reserves of Kenya.
In order to effectively plan our safari tour, we studied a large number of offers on the Internet and chose Camptrek Safari because they offered reasonable prices, had good reviews and offered us a route and accommodation that exactly matched our request.
We prepaid 30% online and the rest in cash at the start of the trip.
We were met at the airport by a company representative, who also helped us with the online booking of our tour, and handed us over to our personal guide-driver John for the next 8 days.
Our program included visits to 4 national reserves: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli with accommodation in lodges on the territory of the reserves.
John turned out to be a highly professional guide with 17 years of experience in this field of tourism. During our tour, thanks to John's efforts, we were able to find and photograph more than 50 different animals and birds. In order to take unique photographs, John demonstrated the highest professionalism in driving and courage. Thanks to his knowledge of animals and their habits, he found for us lions and lionesses, cheetahs, rhinoceroses and hippos.
In each of the parks, John was able to show us their uniqueness.
The company, in accordance with our request, provided us with accommodation in excellent locations. Waking up in the morning, we met zebras, waterbucks, and monkeys at our doors. We felt like we were part of the African nature. This is impossible to forget.
All lodges fully met our expectations, and some of them even exceeded them. Each of the lodges was unique and located in picturesque locations.
Moving between parks by car allowed us to experience the full flavor of the diverse landscapes of Kenya in different climatic zones: on the plains, in the foothills and in the mountains.
In retrospect, we think it might have been better to combine travel between the parks by car and by plane, since the 6-hour drive from Amboseli to Nairobi was somewhat tedious. It was only thanks to John's excellent character and efforts that we covered this distance quite easily and cheerfully.
Throughout the entire tour, John followed our wishes and tried to make our trips not only educational, but also fun.
We did not regret choosing Camptrek Safari for our acquaintance with Africa.

5 Day Masango / Tremisana Safari
5/5

From the day I started my inquiries for the safari, I had excellent service from the office personnel and prompt responses on my questions. Booking the specific safari was easy.

We were picked up on time at the airport and all of our transport during the time were excellent and on time. We had good drivers who were friendly and with a very good knowledge of the area and the wildlife.

The game drives were exceptional. The guides had excellent knowledge of the fauna and flora of the area. In all the game drives the guides worked hard to find the animals and provide the best viewing opportunities. We were fortunate to see four of the big five, most antelope species, zebra, crocodile, hippopotamus and lots of bird species.

Lodging was really good and we were served by friendly and capable staff. The meals were excellent and more than enough.
