Queen Elizabeth National Park is a must to add to your bucket list.
The wildlife was great, though no lions were spotted. That was a big disappointment for me. The weather was cooperative, and the accommodations were good at the Mweya Safari Lodge.
The guide was great. It was a guy named Ham. He was extremely friendly, and we had many deep life talks. He became more of a friend than a guide. It's pretty great when you get a hug goodbye from somebody that only shook hands with the rest of the group.
Needless to say, Queen Elizabeth National Park hasn't seen the last of me.

Other than the famous Serengeti, Arusha, and Ngorogoro Crater, Tanzania has places like Selous Game Reserve, Ruaha National Park, and Mikumi National Park that offer game viewing that is just as spectacular but also offer a little more privacy with the animals.

Review about Gombe National Park by Rita Gazdag
We were greeted by a whole Chimp family at the entrance of Gombe Stream, its was amazing, we also saw many baboons and other beautiful animals. In the evening we could watch a film about Jane Godall's first research and time there and talk to local stuff. Their meal was nice!

Selous is amazing and remote place - highly recommend a visit.
We went there 4 of us in a group and stayed in a nice lodge run by a half- Tanzanian man and his wife. They were excellent hosts and we enjoyed staying in a mud hut , and experience we never had before.
In Selous we saw an abundance of wildlife, an elephant family and a great bunch of lions (we counted them up to 13!!!) and other beautiful grazing animals.
I will never forget my time in Selous as everything I saw before on NatGeo just suddenly came to life there.

Lots of wildlife. Gorgeous setting. High tourism and resort presence diminish bush vibe. Focused on mammals so will not rate birding.
