A wonderful country of contrasts and lovely people.
South Africa truly is a world in one country. The people are so hospitable and the food is wonderful and extremely generous. The wildlife has to be seen to be believed lions walking right by your jeep. Baby elephants being highly inquisitive. Life is very different when you get up at 5.00 am but you soon adapt. The weather in October was quite hot but we also experienced two phenomenal thunderstorms in the evening - spectacular. I can’t wait to go back for our fifth visit.

Very helpful and easy
The communication with Vincent was super easy with WhatsApp. He did a great job with answering all the questions and was very helpful in general. I stayed at his accommodation which was lovely but there will be nothing in walking distance. I stayed only the night before and after the safari which was perfect.
The food was good same as the tents.
I wished the guide would have given much more info about the animals we saw. He was mostly just pointing them out but when we complained it got better. Overall I had a good experience.

BEST TOUR OPERATOR TO WORK WITH
It all began on a bright, sunny evening. After being picked up from my place of stay, I was transferred to the train station for the night train scheduled for 10 pm. The anticipation was palpable as I boarded the Madaraka Express, Kenya’s high-speed train that connects Nairobi to Mombasa. The journey itself was a story of excitement as the train glided smoothly through the rolling savannah and acacia-dotted plains. I gazed out of the window, mesmerized by the stunning landscapes.
At 3:30 am, we arrived in Mombasa. I was picked up and transferred to Diani, where Meektrails had booked my stay at Diani Sea Resort. My room was close to the beach, and the views were something to behold. The first sight of the ocean filled me with awe; it was my first time seeing the vast, turquoise expanse. I took the opportunity to swim and snorkel, enjoying the warm waters and vibrant marine life. Meektrails also organized a boat trip on a glass-bottom boat, allowing me to see fish and other sea creatures while comfortably seated. The highlight of this adventure was getting the chance to swim with the fish, an experience that felt almost surreal.
We spent three nights at Diani Sea Resort, each day more magical than the last. On the fourth day, we moved to Mombasa, where I had the opportunity to visit Old Town, with its narrow streets and ornately carved wooden doors, and explore Nyali and the historical Fort Jesus. Each site spoke volumes of the region’s rich heritage and culture.
On the last day, I had a brief city tour of Mombasa. I delighted in local Swahili dishes and visited Wild Waters, where I faced the scariest water slides I had ever experienced. The thrill of adrenaline rushed through my body as I tackled each slide. Later, I visited Mtwapa and enjoyed some local food there as well. In the evening, I was transferred to the train station and boarded the train back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, Meektrails had arranged for my transfer back to my initial pick-up location.
My trip to the coast was more than just a journey; it was an experience that left me with memories I would cherish forever. The warmth of the people, the natural beauty, and the rhythm of life by the sea had captured my heart. As I packed my bags to return home, I promised myself that this would not be the last time I ventured to Kenya’s captivating coastline.

Thanks Meektrails Safaris for the many memories I'll live with!!

Safari 2 Gorillas offers an immersive and educational experience with East African wildlife!
I had a wonderful time with Safari 2 Gorillas. Organizing the tour was quick and easy, with Aron offering quick and helpful communication. My guide, Danny, was friendly and easy to get along with. During our drives around Uganda, he provided insight into the scenes we passed and life in East Africa. The wildlife was incredible as well. The gorillas, of course, were the highlight of my trip, but I also got to see a wide variety of other animals, including elephants, lions, hippos, giraffes, and many more!! I felt safe the entire time and never felt like I had to worry about anything other than showing up to breakfast on time in the morning. Thank you for a fantastic journey and so many wonderful memories!

Omar was the best guide you can have. Energetic, funny, and very educated
Omar was a great guide and the driver Ramazan was also very good. Both of them together helped us find the main animals before the rest of the group. The game drive is long so it helps that Omar has good energy and he understands what the guests are looking for the most.
As far as communication goes, the organization was very good. The taxi ride, plane ticket, and the accommodations were well communicated. They respond quickly and answered the phone.
We paid about $650 per person for a 2 days safari and I think it was well worth it. Other companies are around $1000 per person. The breakfast was not so great, but lunch and dinner were very good on the safari. We all enjoyed the food more than some restaurants in the city.
I’d rate the reliability very high, mainly because on the game drive there are a lot of things that can go wrong quickly. Since Omar and Ramazan are very experienced they often help other drivers out with issues as they arise. I will say that the car we drove in definitely needed to be serviced as it broke down on the way to the lodge 4-5 times consecutively. Our guides fixed the vehicle, but I think that car is definitely in need of proper repair.

Budget safari exceeded expectations
We had a great time on our safari. Our guide, Jabir, was awesome. He was the best at spotting animals, routinely checked in with us throughout the trip, and was a genuinely kind and fun person to be around. He even arranged for my boyfriend to have a cake on his birthday! Mathayo our chef kept us full with 3 yummy meals a day that exceeded my expectations of food while camping. Angel at the office was so helpful answering my questions prior to booking and making sure we had all the information to make the trip spectacular on a budget. Finally, the camping was perhaps the most comfortable I've ever been camping. Every night the tent was already set up for us and had a thick sleeping pad or two with a sleeping bag and the facilities all had showers and toilets. I would highly recommend Josh Dreamland Safari. We had such a memorable time not only seeing beautiful animals but also meeting so many fun people along the way.
