Zohar African Safaris is an excellent provider of private and package tours.
Our third safari, this was with Zohar African Safaris. We specified game reserves and duration at each. Lilian Maximillian, Proprietor, provided knowledgeable suggestions to blend in cultural activities with our itenary on the Tanzania Northern Circuit. A special benefit was her familiarity with current game activity and routing for best sightings. She personally greeted us at beginning and end of tour, while maintaining contact throughout for any additional needs. Total cost outlay was very competitive and at low cost for a private tour.
Lilian assigned a seasoned guide, Sammy Sikombe, who would become a special friend beyond his leadership. His years of elephant field research were combined with superb knowledge of wildlife activity, habits and locales. He consistently positioned us for best viewing for wildlife imagery.
I have a wonderful set of images and say with sincerity this tour simply exceeded all expectations. I've recommended Zohar to my daughter, son-in-law and anyone interested in Tanzania safaris. Gerald McCormack

On safari withy a Tribes Travel
We have used Tribes Travel on several occasions now, booking two holidays in Botswana, two in Zambia and one in South Africa. On every occasion they were professional and unbelievably helpful and also very friendly. they have always answered queries no matter how silly or trivial. All the holidays ran smoothly with no hold ups or problems. We have always been extremely impressed with Tribes and would not hesitate to recommend them to others or use them again in the future. When going on Safari it can cost a fair amount of money and when booking with Tribes I know without doubt that the trip will run smoothly and the camps will be exactly as we would hope for. I always appreciated that Tribes took the time to speak to us, to get to know us and therefore find out what camps would suit us best. Without sounding too gushing, they really do seem to care about their clients .. even to phoning before the holiday to wish you Bon Voyage and again on your return to ensure all went well. I genuinely cannot speak too highly of them.

I am not your average safari traveller and the trips they organised for me (3 so far) were perfect
Planning, execution and follow up were marvellous, leaving me free to enjoy a hassle free safari experience. Each trip has been different and each in its own way really memorable. I would not consider using any other operator as the Tribes team plainly knows what it is doing.

We were treated like angels. Service was timely and spectacular.
Our safari was to the Murchison falls national park. Being the first time I was taking a safari, I was skeptical on what it all entailed and naturally asked many questions to which the tour operators' staff responded politely. The operators team was quite helpful in helping us prepare for the safari and were kind to us all through the trip. We benefited from the patience and jolliness our tour guide and up to now we still laugh at some of his jokes. I would surely recommend Speke Uganda holidays to anyone planning a safari in the great lakes region.

A tour operator exactly how we expect
In fact I have been not only once with Tribes which means I am a return client - self explanatory. I went on private tours with them, this is what I like. I tell them what I want to see, how I want to travel, etc., then we begin a dialogue including maybe other attractions, changing the order of visiting some attractions, etc. In other words we finetune my expectations. Then I will find exactly what we agreed upon. So simple.

Fantastic experience and excellent organization
Communication was efficient but there were a few small bloomers on the way (mixing up Kruger with Madikwe).
Service was excellent, we were picked up at the airport on time, traveled on a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus with a friendly driver who gave us a guided tour. We were excited when we entered the Park as our driver pointed out the impala, giraffes and zebras. The accommodation was wonderful and we received a warm welcome from the owners of Bush Lodge and the rangers. The garden there is beautiful and the water-hole and hide at the bottom of the garden were the icing on the cake. Elephants, lions, impala, zebra, giraffes,waterhogs, rhinos came daily to enjoy the water, as though for our benefit. The ranger-guided tours were exciting and it was great to see cooperation among the rangers in tracking and locating the big 5. Seeing the big 5 at close quarters was nerve-tingling but amazing as the animals either didn't move (lionesses) or just walked by the jeep without paying us any attention (elephant and lions). A bonus was the dramatic starlit nights. Seeing southern hemisphere stars and constellations clearly for the first time, with the expert guidance of our ranger, was particularly exciting for me from the Northern hemisphere. On our last night, we were entertained with traditional local singing and dancing by the Lodge staff. All in all, a fabulous 3 days, highly recommended.

Fast and fabulous
Last minute is an understatement of our trip. Monday night we decided to travel to Tanzania, Wednesday night we arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Makasa managed to organize a fantastic trip within this short timeframe. Excellent service, very quick communication and a perfect itinerary. Because of our fast decision, the whole trip was a big surprise to us, but it met all our expectations. Accommodations were superb! One day we woke up close to Tarangire National Park with a fantastic view of zebras, warthogs and wildebeests roaming the landscape between our terrace and the hills at the horizon. The next day we slept in the middle of Serengeti, surrounded by hyenas and lions, roaring in the night. In Ngorongoro Conservation Area we spotted 2 rhinos, which completed our big 5 checklist. We have seen so many animals! Before and after the safari we took some time to relax and to visit some local villages. Despite their poverty, Tanzanian people are very friendly and we loved their hospitality. We hope to be back soon!

I love it !!
An a mazing maasai mara lake nakuru safari And exelent customer service and great value for money. They are very good in transfering and services in the masai mara like camps ,foods,good guider,good poeple in the camp,safety and good cars and etc.
I was relax in the camp and just think to wild animals and nothing else. Every problems solved with them.
I will suggest Pumba expedition service and tours to everybody and i hope to travel again to kenya with my family with kindly Pumba.

Utstanding good service and quality from booking to trip with skillfull tourguides in good vehicle
Great Horizon Trail (GHT) is offer a wide range of services when comming to safaris and roundtrips. I have had the pleasure and privilege to do a lot of safaris for a long number of years all over Kenya and Tanzania to see and experience most of the gamereserve. Previouse gamedrive just a few months ago, Dec 2014.
Never have GHT fail in giving me what I had expected, most of the time it is even beyond the higest expetations of mine.
If in any case some problem has occured it is always taken care of and fixed to full satisfaction.
It is to have in mind that safaris in the wilderness is something that can never be predicted what to find or what to face, but with the welleducated and serviceminded guides that are provided by GHT You are always sure of if there is something to be find You will certainly find it.
Above this the GHT are also able to do booking for hotel all over East Africa, and all is up to Your own subject of what You want to have, from budget to firstclass standard.
The only thing You can never get on a budgetstandard is the experience of the safaris, even living in budget lodges, the safari trip in it self is always the fistclass standard, all in the utmost care of the skill guide in well maintaind vehicle. For me I am already looking foward for my next safari with Great Horizon Trail.

We canceled and never got our refund

I have changed my rating for EASTCO company because they have refunded our money after 6 month. According to the EASTCO agent it was because of some financial problems that happened with the ebola fright.
I am not sure if its a sufficient excuse but at the end of the day they have refunded our money so i am satisfied.

I would like to share the reason why my wife and I rate EASTCO poorly. My Wife and I planed a safari tour for February which is something that we dreamed of doing for some time. We choose booking the safari with EASTCO because we read that they are a small family company and believed that they cared about there customers. We where in contact with Simon that seemed friendly in the mails. In the middle of December we found out that we couldn't take the vacation and asked Simon to cancel the Safari. He was very understanding and told us that we will get the refund according to the contract. After a week he replied to our refund request with that he will refund us after new year. And again after new year we did not get the refund and each time we asked him he came up with a different excuse (he was in the bushes, the internet crashed .. and more). Today i came to an understanding that we probably will never get refunded. I am sharing this experience so people will know that we do not recommend EASTCO and I personally do not trust them to take care of my family and me on a safari. And if you do choose to go with them to a safari then do not pay in advance.
