Elleck was amazing. He went out of his way every day to make sure we had the best time. Great man.
5/5

My wife and I went on a three day safari and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Elleck was our guide for all three days and he was so informative and friendly. Every day we went out, he did everything he could to make sure we saw everything we came to see, he also took the time to explain interesting facts about each animal. The experience was unforgettable.

Apart from the actual safari the lodge was incredible. The rooms were spacious and very nicely decorated. The service in the restaurant and bar was perfect and the food was fantastic.

Great flexibility
5/5

I did a last minute booking and Chloe was able to prepare everything for my trip on short notice, and everything went well: the hotels were great, I didn`t have to bother as transportation between places was arranged by her, and I could focus solely on the safaris and other activities. I would definitely recommend.

An Unforgettable Adventure at Kilimanjaro National Park – Machame Route
5/5

I had the privilege of trekking Mount Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route with my friends, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. The journey was made even more special thanks to the incredible friendship we formed with our guides, Antipasi and Rama. Their expertise, enthusiasm, and warmth truly enhanced our adventure, making the climb both challenging and enjoyable.

From the moment we met, Antipasi and Rama made us feel at ease, offering invaluable guidance and support every step of the way. They were not just guides, but friends who shared their knowledge, culture, and love for the mountain, which made the experience even more enriching.

The Machame Route itself is breathtaking, with stunning views and a diverse range of landscapes. But it was the bond we built with our guides that made this trip truly unforgettable. They were always there with encouragement, a smile, and a story, which kept our spirits high during even the toughest stretches.

If you're considering a trek to Kilimanjaro, I highly recommend going with these guides. Their professionalism, kindness, and dedication will make your journey an experience of a lifetime.

Thank you, Antipasi and Rama, for making our adventure so memorable. We’ll cherish the memories and the friendship forever!

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route – December 2024 Guides: Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo
5/5

I recently had the incredible opportunity to summit Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route in December 2024, and the experience was nothing short of unforgettable. With the expert guidance of Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo, our group was well-supported, informed, and inspired every step of the way.

The Marangu Route
The Marangu Route, often known as the "Coca-Cola" route, is one of the most popular and accessible routes to the summit of Kilimanjaro. It’s a relatively straightforward route compared to others, offering comfortable huts for overnight stays, making it a bit easier for climbers seeking to balance comfort with adventure. The route typically takes 5–6 days, providing a steady ascent through diverse landscapes—from lush rainforests to alpine meadows, and finally, the barren, windswept summit.

Guides: Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo
One of the most vital parts of the journey is the expertise and support provided by the guides. We were fortunate enough to have Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo leading our group, and they made the climb far more enjoyable and safe than it would have been without them.

Shafii: A seasoned guide with years of experience on Kilimanjaro, Shafii was incredibly knowledgeable about the mountain, its history, and the challenges we’d face along the way. He was always attentive, keeping an eye on everyone’s health and morale, making sure that no one was left behind. Shafii’s ability to balance professionalism with genuine care for our well-being made him an indispensable part of the team.

Nelson: Nelson was the team’s motivator and problem-solver. His positive attitude was contagious, and his deep understanding of the mountain’s rhythms—how the weather could change, how the altitude affects your body—was invaluable. He often led us through tough sections, offering encouragement when the going got tough and ensuring that we maintained a steady pace.

Paulo: With a calm and steady demeanor, Paulo was the heart of the team. He had a fantastic ability to communicate, explaining the route ahead and what we could expect. He took great care in making sure that our camps were well-organized and that everyone was comfortable, especially during the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. His knowledge of the mountain's flora and fauna also added an educational element to the hike that was truly special.

The Experience
Climbing Kilimanjaro is no easy feat, but with the guidance of Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo, it was an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience. Each day brought new challenges, but their steady leadership kept us moving forward. The hike to the summit was demanding, but they kept us motivated with their encouragement, especially on summit night when the altitude began to take its toll on some climbers.

One of the highlights was their attentiveness to ensuring that we followed the “climb high, sleep low” principle. They managed our altitude acclimatization well, which helped minimize altitude sickness, and were quick to make adjustments when needed.

At the summit, standing at Uhuru Peak and taking in the breathtaking sunrise over the Tanzanian plains was an emotional moment that I will never forget. Our guides were right there with us, sharing in the triumph and ensuring everyone got their photos and celebrated this achievement.

Accommodation and Meals
The Marangu Route offers hut-based accommodation, which provides a comfortable alternative to the tents used on other routes. The huts were spacious, clean, and well-kept, and although basic, they provided an important sense of warmth and shelter in the cold mountain air.

As for meals, the food was surprisingly good, with the cooks preparing hearty, nutritious meals to keep our energy levels high. Paulo and the team made sure there was plenty of water and snacks along the way, and they catered to dietary needs as well.

Overall Impressions
In summary, my experience on the Marangu Route with guides Shafii, Nelson, and Paulo was nothing short of spectacular. Their professionalism, expertise, and genuine care for our well-being made the climb both manageable and enjoyable. Their leadership helped us to not only reach the summit safely but to also appreciate the beauty and majesty of Kilimanjaro. I wholeheartedly recommend this team to anyone looking to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, and I can’t thank them enough for making this dream come true.

Rishen especially was outstanding. He provided so much information and was always on call for any queries we had throughout. Rishen went over and beyond to ensure we had the best experience, and we most certainly did!!

The sunset tour on arrival was fantastic! We saw 4 out of the 5 “Big 5” in just those 3 hours alone! 😃 And managed to catch the rare sighting of the leopard on our full day tour the next day! Along with every other animal…. Was so much fun! WOW what a beautiful experience and we feel incredibly lucky! Our hearts are full ❤️

We cannot fault a thing and I would highly recommend Mo Afrika Tours!!

Our 7-day Tanzania safari with Rama was absolutely amazing! From the moment we met him in Arusha, we knew we were in good hands. Rama’s deep knowledge of wildlife, history, and Tanzanian culture enriched every part of our journey. He expertly guided us through Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, and Lake Manyara, ensuring we saw the Big Five and even the Great Migration. Rama's keen eye for spotting animals and his understanding of their behaviors made the experience even more special.

Beyond his expertise, Rama’s friendly and approachable nature made us feel comfortable and engaged throughout the trip. He also took care of all the details, from logistics to accommodation, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thanks to Rama, our safari was not just a tour, but an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommend him for anyone planning a safari in Tanzania!
