Isak had so much knowledge about the animals and could answer all our questions with a smile
5/5

Lenny was so reliable and friendly, and did everything to give us an unforgettable experience. The transfer from the hotel to Mikumi was good with stop for great lunch on the way, the AC in the bus was really good too. When we arrived in the park and started the game drive the guide Isac made sure that we saw all the animals that we wished to see. We were really lucky to see 8 lions in a close distance which were so cool! After the game drive we were all more than satisfied with the tour and then we went for dinner and sleep at Bastian camp. The venue was really cool and the food was great, we enjoyed the pool on the second day before traveling back to Dar es salaam.
I could really recommend Go green safari and Lenny for the best safari experience adapted to your wants and wishes 👏👏👏

Excellent
5/5

First of all, if you are wondering (like us) if Crater Explorer Tours and Safaris is reliable, I can assure you that despite the fears we were followed from beginning to end. Emanuel was very kind, he guided us by message and answered all our questions and requests remotely. When we arrived at the airport we were greeted by the driver who took us to Arusha, where Emanuel himself explained the Safari program to us.
Personally we chose the 5-day safari and warned, under the guidance of John - our guide as knowledgeable as he was kind - infinite animal species. When we also spotted the fourth and fifth of the Big 5, leopard and rhino, he was more excited than us. Emanuel our cook, on the other hand, delighted us for days with dishes that we already miss. The food is good, cooked with love, and quite varied. Tanzanian customs enter your heart and you end up getting used to them. Especially to smiles, accompanied by the inevitable ‘Hakuna Matata’.
To do at least once in your life!

7-Day Lemosho Route - November 2024
5/5

We did the 7-Day Lemosho Route in November 2024 as a group of six and everything was great. We had an amazing hike with Kilimanjaro heroes adventures and especially our three guides David, David and GoodLuck. All the porters were amazing too and Mayo was a great cook. All of them are the true heroes and make it possible for everyone to summit the Kilimanjaro. Thank you all for making this amazing experience possible.

5/5

It was a great adventure to hike Mt Kenya with the best team we could have. The food was very good, the guide guided us slowley up to the top and therfore made it possible to reach the peak due to good aclimatisation.
The local bus ride was a nice advenuture. The contact with the tour Operator was easy and eceryone was very supportive. We really could reccomend the Tour with Hyrax.

The South Africa tour was a unique experience. Great route, fantastic wilderness, great camping equipment, always delicious selfmade food. And our truck (Big Mama) brought us safely from Johannesburg to Cape Town. A truly jungling experience.

Fantastic service and an unforgettable experience
5/5

My fiance and I had a great experience with the tour company. We read through hundreds of options, and given how expensive safaris can be and how variable our friends' experiences had been, we were worried the trip might not be worth the money. I can say that the trip absolutely was worth it! The 6-day tour was a great option, as we had time in four of Kenya's most important parks (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli). We did a private tour, which we highly recommend given that you will always want to stand up and move around the car as you follow the wildlife around, and then you can move at your own pace. If you only had time for one, Masai Mara is the one to do. We opted for the van, which was cheaper, and never had one issue (this may have been different if it were very rainy). We did all the add-on tours (apart from the far too expensive hot-air balloon), and all of them only made the experience more memorable (the boat tour was also a bit too pricey in our opinion, but it gives you access to the Lake Naivasha Nature Walk, which was beautiful and lets you get right up next to the animals with experienced naturalists who work there). The tour company was very communicative and helpful. Our guide/driver (Bernard) was absolutely fantastic, we cannot speak highly enough of him. He was positive, knowledgable, punctual and worked hard to make sure we saw as many animals as possible. Service, accommodations and food at the hotels we stayed at was exceptional, especially given that you are often in extremely remote parts of the country (remember to get your hands on small bills of Kenyan shillings! It wasn't too bad, but the hotel workers were a bit intense about trying to get tips, and we didn't have the cash for it at first).

It is hard to comprehend just how many animals there were just there right in front of us, living in their natural habitat. We saw dozens of species up close (elephants, giraffes, birds, lions, hippos, cheetahs, rhinos and more). Having an attentive, communicative guide/driver who is talking with the other drivers about where everything is in the park is important as these parks are huge. Given that it is nature, it's impossible to guarantee seeing everything, but at least in January of 2025, we saw just about all there was to see.
