From big 5 to big 500
Following a succesfull trip in 2011 this year again I joined Nick and Freya from Tailormade Safaris on a Safaritrip with a focus on birdwatching to the Kwazulu Natal coasline and inland to Wakkerstroom and the Drakensberg. Their knowledge of the region is outstanding and thanks to their enthusiastic guiding we managed many exciting bird species to the trip list. We ticked elusive larks, magestic lammergyers and saw many of the enigmatic mammals too, turning our safari in a big 500 adventure! Highly recommended!

Trip of a lifetime...Fantastic Company
Before booking with It Started in Africa, I did a lot of research to find the perfect mix between a high quality safari tour in Tanzania and value. ISIA met all my requirements, providing a tailor-made, wonderful experience, with the absolute highest quality of service, responsiveness, efficiency, comfort, informed and competent guides, and security. From the beginning contact with ISIA to the very end of our safari, covering four national parks, my experience was nothing short of excellent in every way. I highly recommend ISIA for a trip of a lifetime.

An adventure with Erasto is absolutely a life changing experience.
We traveled with Erasto Mollel, of E&H Blessed Safaris twice, in 2010 and 2012. We are looking forward to doing it again soon.
There are no words to explain the incredible life experiences Erasto brought to us. Each day was an adventure. We never knew what we would see for sure, but excitement was a certainty. We would ask, “Erasto, how do you find these animals day after day?” He would give us his ear to ear beautiful smile and say, “I am Maasai.” It is certainly based in the roots of his Maasai youth, embellished by his university studies in Wildlife Preservation and topped off by his innate charm. His knowledge of the flora and fauna is immeasurable. We would sit at dinner and listen intently as he reviewed what we had learned during the day, and what we would likely see the next day.
Safety is always first and foremost. It became apparent that he would never allow us to get into a situation that could be dangerous, but there was still had plenty of excitement. His respect for the animals and the environment was obvious. His goal was to have the animals see us as “an iron elephant with round feet", so as not to alarm them. This brought many rewards of being able to get very close and share some intimate moments with the animals. Not many people have had a mother cheetah walk to within 20 feet of their vehicle, lay down, and nurse her five week old cubs. This was nothing short of amazing!
Every detail is attended to perfectly. He makes it appear so totally fluent. If there was some scrambling going on behind the scenes, we were never aware of it.
Erasto is beyond fabulous. His tours are "Simply The Best". He has become a dear and cherished friend.

Fabulous
We went on Safari with E&H Blessed Safari twice; March 2010 and 2012. Both times the weather was beautiful, the animals plentiful and the experience mind boggling. Witnessing he Great Migration is beyond belief.
The people are polite, friendly, and anxious to please.
The magnitude of the Serengeti is difficult to imagine. On our last trip we covered over 2000 Km in three weeks, and loved every minute of it. We are planning to return soon.

The best tour operator you could hope for
We took a 2 nights 3 days camping safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The whole trip was way beyond our expectations. The guide was an amazing professional, he found us all the animals we could think of and knew so much about both animals and the areas we visited. The cook was absolutely great, the food was fantastic and there was plenty of it.. This was our first safari and these guys made it unforgettable. They will most definitely organize our future safaris as well!

Great experience, very organized, and lots of up close encounters!
The safari was amazing. Sham, the tour guide, was very enthusiastic about telling us about the different animals we saw. It always seemed like he knew exactly what we wanted, in the sense that he always gave us enough time to take photos and knew where to go in order to get the best view of the animals. The lodging and food was also very well taken care of. We were able to go to campsites that could charge our camera batteries, which was very helpful as we took lots of pictures. The safari vehicles were very nice and one could put the roof up so that one could stand inside the vehicle and look at the animals from a higher vantage point. The food was very good and consisted of some meals that reminded us of home and other meals that we have never before tasted (that were really really good!). I would also like to point out that we also had some time to visit some Tanzanian villages, artists, and banana plantations, which was a very interesting and cool experience that showed some of the Tanzanian culture that one cannot see if one only spends time with the animals. In sum, I will never forget the experience, and I believe that Sham did a fantastic job making it so unbelievable!
