Trip of a lifetime
5/5

We had an absolutely amazing 8 day safari with tropical wild expeditions, in an almost new land cruiser with a safe and experienced driver and budget accommodation that far exceeded our expectations.

I also have a few tips for anyone looking for a budget Kenya safari....

All of the companies mix and match clients to get their tours to fit in with their schedules with shared tours., so it's always possible you will change from one vehicle to another depending on your itinerary or have people come and go from your vehicle. Sometimes leading to delays and frustrations... I really can't see anyway of avoiding this besides having a private tour.

On the first day of the tour you drive all the way to the Masai mara and then have lunch and go on an afternoon game drive around 4/4:30. Only problem is the park closes at 6 and you still have to pay full game park fee for that day(same day only passes now instead of old 24 hours passes) so maybe consider what we did adding another day in the mara but not doing a game drive on the first day to reduce the cost and maximise value. In the afternoon of the first day we paid a nominal fee to a Masai working at our camp to take us on a nature walk, were we learnt about how they use all the plants/trees and saw lots of animals walking along the river in the park.

Lots of the roads in and between parks are dirt/gravel and during rain periods can be flooded I think the land cruiser is worth the extra price over the van.

Most of the camps the budget share safaris stay at are all near each other just outside the park. I can't recommend enough flair camp experience, every meal at the camp is a 4 course meal and was levels above anything else at the other camps and the Masai staff were absolutely amazing.

The drive day to Amboseli after doing hell's gate is pretty brutal and Im on the fence if it was worth it to me. Amboseli is great for seeing elephants and the view of Kili is amazing if your lucky to get it on a clear day but it can also be a bit of an anticlimax compared to the all action of watching hunts and spotting far more animals in the mara.

If you do make it to Amboseli I highly recommend the Manjaro camp if your looking for more of a natural low key experience. Small camp with basic amenities but has wildlife from the park walking through the camp, sounds from animals at night including hyena calls and heaps of bird life. Camp fire in the evening and walking paths around the camp.

Amazing experience !
Grazie Innocent
Grazie Kilipath!

Quick and excellent communication, reasonable price!
5/5

From the 1st communication with Rosemary I knew it was going to be a great trip to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater. The price was very good compared to other tours. The staff including the chef and drivers were reliable and provided tasty meals and safe driving. We saw so much! It was an incredible safari! Thank you Mountain Warriors!

FLEXIBLE AND WELL ORGANISED
5/5

Arriving in Walvis Bay on our yacht, the crew of SV Moonbird were looking forward to exploring the Namibian desert.
We found Blue Crane were the only tour company willing to create a bespoke tour for the 5 of us at short notice. Our guide, Sydnie, collected us from the waterfront and thus began a brilliant and packed tour itinerary that took us to all the main sites we had been hoping for. Sydnie was extremely knowledgeable, and his kind and friendly manner made the trip very enjoyable, and his driving was excellent. We really enjoyed staying at the desert lodge, and the sunset drive. We even had an afternoon cooling off in the pool. All the facilities and partner organisations were top notch. Sydnie even arranged a birthday cake for one of our party!

Unforgettable Safari Experience with OZON Light Tours and the Amazing Guide, Albert!
5/5

I highly recommend the OZON Light Tour and our guide, Albert! I originally chose OZON because Nuhu provided a super detailed breakdown of all the costs for each activity, which made everything really transparent. He was also super responsive, professional, and helpful. Plus, for the same itinerary and accommodations, their prices were way better than the big agencies.

After the trip, I just had to recommend our guide, Albert. He was such a genuine and fun guy, and incredibly knowledgeable. He knew everything about the animals, plants, and even local traditions, which made the whole experience so much more interesting. His skills in tracking animals were seriously impressive. One of the best moments was in Ndutu when we wanted to see lions feeding. While other drivers were frantically chasing the lions (which not only ruined their view but also disturbed the animals), Albert used his experience and deep understanding of lion behavior to get us in the perfect spot. Because of that, we got a front-row seat to watch a lion family feast for almost two hours!

Another amazing experience was seeing the wildebeest cross the Ndutu River. Some guides just rushed straight at them and ended up scaring them off. But Albert knew exactly where to go and got us to the perfect spot at just the right time.

Overall, the whole trip was incredible. I also highly recommend Ndutu—it’s great for off-road experiences, and you can get super close to the animals. Everything was just perfect, and if I ever go back, I’m 100% booking with Albert again!

We had three different guides, all were great.
5/5

The safari was amazing. We saw so much, every animal you could see we saw. The accommodation and food were absolutely fantastic.

In terms of communication, it was quite poor. Day to day on the tour we didn’t have clear instructions of how many hours we would be driving in between destinations and we had one day with no communication in between switching drivers based on how many days our safari was. We were confused and we were dropped off at our hotel around noon with nothing around and nothing to do. The biggest thing I would say is take money out before your tour. Because it’s cash only and the atms in Kenya only dispense 40,000 ksh at a time. It was very frustrating on the morning of the safari with other people on the tour waiting for us to take money out. Also take out extra money for souvenirs and if you want any coffees, water, or alcohol in any accommodation it is extra, and some places only take cash.

The experience other than that was really amazing. A once in a lifetime experience.
