Incredible experience at an afforadable price!
5/5

My wife and I went to Botswana in July 2024. We have been to multiple safaris before in Kenya (Masai Mara, Amboseli and surrounding), and South Africa (Kruger, Thimbavati, and Sabi Sands). I wanted to have a personalized private safari experience where my wife and I could enjoy the serene nature all to ourselves. David and his group offered just the same to us at an affordable price. We had THE ABSOLUTE BEST safari experience of all time. We spent three nights at Xakanaxa, 2 nights in Khwai, 2 in Savuti and 2 at Chobe. It was just two us of these sites, along with our guide/driver, a cook and a helper. Our guide was very experienced to say the least and tailored the entire trip to our liking. The very first evening drive at Xakanaxa, we saw two leopards, 2 lions and then a pack of wild dogs running through our camp! There was never a day where we did not see a big cat, and often we saw multiple in a day along with other incredible wildlife that Botswana offers. Overall, I would give this experience 5 out of 5 stars, and I would definitely hire David's group whenever we are back in Botswana.

About: Uganda
What a nice surprise
Overall rating
5/5

We (Father with two teenagers) headed of to a nine day private Safari in Uganda to see the Gorillas. And we did not get disappointed, we spent an hour with them, an amazing experience.

However, we where surprised and charmed by the overall Safari experience we had. Wildlife in abundance (organised between the different parcs) and close up - a lot on foot. So Uganada is not only a Gorilla and Schimpanzee destination, but big 5 country. Lots of elephants, hippos (grazing), buffalo, giraffes, white rhinos (in a sanctuary but not to be missed), lions, leopards, gorillas, schimpanzees, etc., etc.

The lodges were good and authentic (Mwyea your Out of Africa lodge, Paraa nicely on the NIle River bank, Kimbali Forest Camp a mid-range absolute fair value, Rushuga Gorilla Camp and luxury Kimbari Lodge), food well prepared and people very kind and accomodating.

Our trip was organised by Tuable Safari. Jamal was our local guide and driver. Excellent Safari vehicle, very knowledgable guide. There was a mix-up with one of the lodges, but it got sorted out. The organisation was spot on and I can highly recommend the tour operator.

Due to the cost of the gorilla and schimpanzee permits Uganda is not a cheap Safari destnation, but absolutely worthwile. Overall you find a top offering at a fair price.

Unforgettable and magical trip to the Serengeti
5/5

When I was preparing to undergo a safari deep in the Serengeti, I was initially overwhelmed by the sheer amount of tour groups and places to go. Let me make life simple for you - Porcupine Expeditions is undoubtedly the way to go! The respect, kindness, and friendships that they provide are truly unforgettable and make this an exceptional experience. I had the honor of working with Mama and hearing her story about what it means to be a "porcupine"; small, but fierce and protecting. Rather than branding the safari group as a proud lion or a dangerous cheetah, the philosophy behind Porcupine Expeditions is one of compassion and family. Here are a few reasons why this safari will change your life:

- The guides are knowledgeable, down to earth, and friendly. On this trip, I got very close with Jonas (tour guide) and Paulo (chef). Jonas would point out animals and share fun facts that kept us all entertained. From stories of culture and history to tunes filled with Bongo flavor, Jonas made this trip one of a kind. We had late night talks watching a vast field of stars. Paulo, the chef, taught me to cook local dishes like Jagera and Ugali. Chopping vegetables, stirring soups, and hearing about his experiences was eye opening. We also smashed charcoal blocks to bake bread and used different methods to disinfect the water. The trip was both culturally enriching and fulfilling for wildlife exploration!
- This trip is friendly for solo travelers. Coming alone from the US, I was worried that it would be dangerous to go to the Serengeti alone. Mama and her family made sure that I was taken care of, fed, and safe. She constantly went out of her way to check that I was enjoying the trip and taking care of myself! Even after the expedition, Mama will update me on her life to keep tabs. The friendliness, warmth, and compassion are something you won't find on other expedition groups. Our safari became a family road trip.
- Of course, the wildlife is breathtaking. Lions, hippos, warthogs, baboons. Anything you could imagine would just be an arms length away! Once you see the world, you will realize just how beautiful and majestic our home is.

This is a wonderful experience that I would recommend to ANYONE! I am excited to book another tour and bring my family to Tanzania to meet my African family: Porcupine Expeditions! To the Porcupine team - I will see you soon!

Amazing Africa tour with knowledgeable guide
5/5

It was my first time to go on a safari tour in Africa, so I was a bit nervous but everyone at ONLY ONE AFRICA was always there to support me in every detail, making it a wonderful trip.

The hotels we stayed from luxury camp to 5 stars hotel were all unique, and we had a unique experience that only traveling in Kenya can provide.
Our tour guide, Mr. Joroge, was very knowledgeable about wildlife and was always answer any questions in Japanese, which made our game drives even more fantastic.
Thank you very much for amazing time!

Great first Tanzania experience
5/5

We had a great first Tanzania experience thanks to Tanzania Vacation Operation. The whole trip was very well planned and organised. We had good hotels, friendly and experienced drivers and guides and nice activitities/safaris. Our safari guide did a great job during the safari. We felt safe in the car, learned a lot about the animals and saw a lot of animals...

An Epic Life-Changing Experience!
5/5

I cannot begin to list all the wonderful memories I made with Sunset Adventures. My guide Emmanuel was great. As a solo female traveler, safety was a big concern for me before going to Uganda. Emmanuel always made me feel safe and comfortable so I was able to enjoy every aspect of my trip without worrying. Communication was always prompt and thorough from the beginning to the end. All the lodges we stayed at were very comfortable and had great food. The staff were also very warm and friendly. The gorilla trekking was without a doubt the highlight of my Africa trip. Having the gorillas to myself (I was the only tourist) was a surreal experience and well- worth the money. If you have time, I would definitely recommend abseiling in Sipi Falls. It was an adrenaline rush and it was the perfect ending for my trip. Overall, Sunset Adventures made my time in Uganda very special and memorable and could not recommend them enough.
