Your own private Kruger Park!

4/5

We stayed for 3 nights and did one gamedrive. The setting of Amukela lodge is very nice, and good value for money. Meals were good, atmosphere relaxed and personal. The waterholes were visited by impala, jackal, vervet monkeys, civet, elephants (2 big ones) and in the evening we heard the lions! Owner/managed with friendly and helpful staff.

Nature at it's best!

When we visit a game reserve we like it simple. No 5 star accommodation and fancy living, just nature at its best. At Manyeleti we got everything we needed from a bush break away. Beautiful nature, peaceful surroundings. The weather was excellent and we were lucky to be there when it was a full moon. The tented accommodation allows you to be close to nature even at night. We saw plenty of elephants and even from our campsite. There is no better place to enjoy a magical night under the african stars!

We visited South Africa for just over two weeks, spending five days in Ulusaba, Kruger, five days at Hluhluwe-Umfolozi and four days down at Durban and one day up at Sodwana bay to do some diving. The weather while we were there was great overall, we only had bad weather one day when we went out diving off a boat from Durban, but that was more the sea breeze.
The people were so hospitable, everyone was asking if we were enjoying ourselves, etc. Both game parks provided good food and places to sleep, bathrooms, etc.
The beach, sea and reef were amazing at Sodwana bay, 7 mile as it is known was beautiful and there were loads of fish around generally.

A perfect oppurtunity to see some of the most endangered species of Africa.

The weather when we were there was amazing, it was a bare able heat in the day whilst staying reasonably warm in the night. We never caught any rain whilst we were in South Africa and so the humidity was good also.
The scenery at Ulusaba was amazing, without the bush over coming us we were able to see a variety of trees around us whilst still seeing a lot of wildlife. The wildlife there was incredible, we saw every animal possible for the region: Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Water buck, Giraffes and even Hyena's and Hunting dogs.
The food there was amazing it was all served hot, with delicious desserts and we were given the option of different meals. We even had the one-off chance to have breakfast in the middle of the bush; pancakes with chocolate sauce.
Our tracker and driver was amazing, funny and telling us the information we wanted to know, even allowing us to pause for photo's whenever we wanted.

Review about Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve by Daybreak96

There wasn't much big game to see, we saw a few Elephants and twice we saw a small pride of Lions, but overall we were just seeing Rhino's and Zebra with a few Giraffe. It was a great place to go to see lots of birds, we were even able to get great photos of them as they seemed to never fly away. The food wasn't as good as the full-board safri we were at before, mainly because we had to find our own lunch.

South Africa seems to have all the African wildlife that most people would like to see on a safari.

The countryside and wildlife are beautiful, the people are friendly and you will see the best that Africa has to offer. Local flights, e.g. to Zanzibar are worth considering as the roads can be rough and slow.

Nice place to see African wildlife
Overall rating
4/5

The Zulu Nyala game lodge was a nice place to see many different African wildlife. One thing we noticed early on was that after going into the park a couple of days, we had pretty much seen all they had. We then needed to go to other parks and areas to see different wildlife. The food was excellent. The rooms were just ok, though I'm sure they were fine by African standards.
