Nice mix of rural and cosmopolitan beauty especially in Capetown

Booked with Safari Life and had a wonderful experience. I was a little concerned about the transportation connection as there were no direct transfers from Johannesburg to the Umkumbe Lodge in Sabi Sands but it went very smoothly both ways and the wildlife was amazing--most of which we were able to see from the privacy of our back deck. Everything looked very natural from the rhinos we saw in the bush to the monkeys that came down from the trees to steal sugar off our table. The luxurious lodging gave us the best of both worlds enjoying a nice swim or massage when not out on game drives and we even found a leopard. Leopards are the hardest of the Big 5 animals to find because they are solitary animals that hang out in the trees. Wonderful experience with excellent food that the host was able to tailor to any dietary restrictions for any individual.

About: Tanzania
Amazing to see so many different animals in the wild and to experience the beautiful scenery.

Our 8 day tour in Tanzania was absolutely wonderful! Great seeing many different animals in the wild and the scenery was incredible. Our tour guide was very careful with his driving when we went high and around some bends. I do not like heights but I was comfortable with his driving. The Arusha Farm House is a beautiful place to stay, with a swimming pool, lovely surroundings and very good food.

Lifetime experience and profound beauty

South Africa wasn't on our radar of trips. too many concerns personally like a long flight from U.S., safety concerns and really not educated on what it had to offer besides the safaris you hear about. It was life changing with it's beauty and nature and things to do and see. The mountains, the ocean, the people were outstanding. So much too offer and everyone made us feel welcomed. Uber was great and most experiences had pickup included or would do for a nominal fee. The game park was an amazing place. The resort was very nice and food was very good and was buffet which was always full with many options to eat. The game drive was in a beautiful area and we saw quite a bit of the Big 5 except for one. I would do it all again tomorrow if time would allow.

I cannot rave enough about my four day safari in Tanzania. My husband and I visited Serengeti National Park as well as Ngorongoro Crater in September. We booked the safari with Habari Adventures (also hiked Mount Kilimanjaro with the same tour company) and cannot say enough good things about both the safari and Habari. The guide was very knowledgeable about the animals as well as respectful by keeping enough distance so as not to disturb. The vast size of the parks and the number of animals we were able to view is indescribable. We were lucky to see the big five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and African buffalo) along with numerous species of both animals and birds.

We stayed at two lodges within the parks and both facilities were amazing. All of the staff were warm and welcoming! I also liked both lodges were small and blended with the environment Food and atmosphere also great.

As a whole, I loved Tanzanian and would really love to return to explore more areas of the country.

Incredible Safari Honeymoon
5/5

We went on an 8-day safari for our honeymoon at the beginning of October. The planning process was so smooth with William (pre-booking) and Naomi (post-booking), which made us feel at ease and taken care of before even getting there. The company was always very quick to respond and was able to create an itinerary that hit all of the places we wanted, with plenty of time so it didn’t feel too rushed.

When we arrived, a driver was waiting at the airport for us, and the next day our guide, Elias picked us up bright and early to start the safari. We had been looking forward to this trip and planning it for quite awhile and it exceeded our expectations. Elias was a great driver, kind, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the parks & wildlife. We were blown away that we could point at any animal/bird and he would be able to name it and tell us about it. It was clear that he was an experienced guide - we enjoyed our conversations with him, always felt safe, and learned a lot. We were sad to say goodbye when the trip came to an end, after spending 8 great days with him.

Every park we went to was so unique and had its own special experiences and landscapes. I would definitely recommend including Tarangire National Park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater in your itinerary. And the lodges were amazing - we especially enjoyed watching the watering hole from the pool deck at Tarangire Simba Lodge and the amazing hospitality and balcony views at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge and Lions Paw.

We saw so many elephants (our favourites because we had so many close up encounters with them), lions, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, gazelles, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, etc. Elias was always able to put us in a position to have a great view of the animals and was in touch with the other guides to share locations when something exciting came up.

African Big Cats also arranged for us to do a crater rim hike, which was incredible. It was nice to experience the area by foot and the view was amazing. If you’re thinking about booking a safari, I would highly recommend booking with ABC, they handled everything for us and it made for a relaxing and bucket list trip we will never forget!!

A fantastic guide and safari company!
5/5

I can't say enough great things about our safari guide, Elias! His knowledge of nature was astounding. He did a fantastic job of explaining anything interesting that he saw, and any question that we had, he had a fascinating answer for! Elias knew the parks like the back of his hand and we were able to see every animal that we were hoping to see (plus many more!). He also taught us so much about the different cultures and people of Tanzania as we were driving through various areas. Everything went so smoothly. We knew exactly where we were heading and our guide did a great job of informing us how long it would take to get to our different stops.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this company!

John Malley, The kindest, most knowledgeable guide
5/5

We contacted John Malley on a recommendation of a friend. John created a Safari tour for 4 of us, accommodating everyone’s interests and preferences leading us on the best experience one could imagine. He afforded us a glorious day hike on Mount Kilimanjaro, a day of meeting two indigenous tribes on their natural environment, besides days of animal spotting far snd near including the famous Wildebeest fall migration that was unimaginable. All our lodges and tent camps were exceptional, providing the comfort and welcome rest after long adventurous days. If Safari is on your mind, John and Wilderness Safari is your best bet.

An incredible experience with the best guide (Benji)
5/5

All the travel with perfect organization and adapted at our requirements in terms of days, places to visit, perfect combination between hotels and tent camp. We travelled with our daughters, it was a private travel for 4 people. We had the best guide, Benji, who speaks spanish perfectly and we lived with him this great experience, sharing with us a lot of thinks, his culture, and creating a perfect climate to enjoy and doing really funny this travel. I recommend 100% travel with him. Without any doubt, if one day I’ll do another safari, I’ll repeat with him.
