A road less traveled
5/5

My wife and I visited Uganda last year under the stewardship of a fledgling Amatsiko tours. We loved every second of our adventure. Amitsiko is run for the benefit of a school for orphans. Part of your time can be spent with the school and you will come out amazed at what they can do with so little attention. More traditional things like safaris and bird watching can also be done as well as trips to tribal villages. But the school is the heart of this enterprise and using Amatsiko tours you help it keep beating

Martin is amazing!
5/5

Uganda was a place I had wanted to visit for a long time and, like so many others, had an original trip fall through because of Covid. However, it was probably a blessing in disguise as the original trip would not have included Martin!

Martin was guiding for another company before he launched his own tour company (the one you see here, Wagatil Safaris) and if anyone is qualified to start their own tour company, it is Martin. From the moment he picked us up (three Canadian ladies from late 40s to mid 60s) in Kampala and had been waiting for us to get through customs and immigration in the early (EARLY!) hours, his professionalism was evident. Martin has a way about him that is reassuring, comforting and extremely attentive. He made us feel at home right away and it was evident that he wanted our experience in his home country to be one for the books — and it was indeed the trip of a lifetime!

If you want to learn about Uganda, and I don't mean just the wildlife (which Martin knows like the back of his hand!), Martin is happy to engage in discussions. He knows his country so well from politics to history to the people and of course, Uganda's natural world. He is an excellent ambassador for Uganda and it is evident the pride he takes in showing off his homeland. Martin is so easy to talk to. He is well-loved by all the staff at various lodges too. They are always happy to see him.

He has a great sense of humour too! Since I had planned the trip and knew the itinerary and my other travel companions did not (they wanted to be surprised!), Martin went in on a little joke with me pretending we were going swimming with the crocodiles and that it was on the itinerary. He was so straight-faced delivering this that I almost forgot the joke and thought it was real! We had so many laughs on this trip.

I have been on some pretty epic adventures and have travelled to around 60 countries and I am honest when I say that Uganda is at the top for sure. The people (like Martin!), the welcome, the landscape, animals, culture — it's really a must. I, like most others, wanted to go to see the gorillas, but I got WAY more than I could ever have imagined. I consider Martin a friend and know he would say the same.

I can't wait to go back and see Martin again someday and see how much his tour company will take off! Do yourself a favour and book a trip with Martin.

Amazing guide to a beautiful waterfall
5/5

I had and incredible day with my guide. I had an extra day before my group Safari trip and decided to take a private tour to a beautiful waterfall and a coffee experience. My guide made me feel right at home and played me all of his favorite music on the way to the waterfall and help me throughout the high answering all of my questions I would definitely recommend this tour company to anyone visiting Tanzania.

Knowledgeable and Friendly
5/5

I have been to Tanzania for wildlife safari thru Face of Africa being our travel agent. As a wildlife photography enthusiastic our needs were bit different from regular tourist. All our expectations were well taken care by the company. They even customized the safari vehicle to be photo friendly. The stay in each place was well arranged...the driver of our vehicle had good knowledge about animal behavior and he was able to identify all the bird's. Over all we had a awesome trip with great sighting. I would definitely recommend and use their service in my next visit to Tanzania and other place around since they cover Kenya and Uganda.

Mtinangi - One of the best... HE IS THE BEST!
5/5

We booked 5 days safari your with Mtinangy. We started with the Serengeti National park. The next day we visited the Manyara Lake. The last 2 days we were in tha National Serengeti National Park. All were organized very well. The food was very good too. Because of Mtinangi, we saw the most beautiful animals in these parks. He did everything to catch the big 5 and the 5 ugly too. He is amazing and we are happy to visit Ngorogoro Crater with him tomorrow.

Mtinangi is the guide I have ever met!
5/5

I heard that Mtinangi is an exceptional guide, but I was still pleasantly surprised at his ability to find all of the animals that our group wanted to see! He also is such a good driver that he was able to get us much closer to the animals compared to the other safari jeeps. He enabled us to get the perfect shot every time! I sat in the front so I really appreciated his humour and wit ( as well as some singing) . I would highly recommend Mtinangi as a guide if you want to have great value for your tour, excellent service, and experience of a lifetime.!!
