Incredible experience
We booked a 5-day-safari and the whole trip was very well organized. The communication with Sarah was very uncomplicated and we felt well looked after at all times. Our pick-up was well coordinated by Paul.
The game drive was an incredible experience. Our guide Dennis was always patient, well informed and he wanted us to have the best view even if it meant a long driving distance for him. The car was comfortable and perfectly accommodated.
The accommodations were always clean and matching the description. We were provided with good meals every day.

4 days in Masai Mara
We had a 4-day safari to the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru with ourdriver and guide, Mimi Kevin.
One of the highlights of our trip was witnessing the incredible lines of wildebeest gathering for the Great Migration and watching them repeatedly attempt to cross the Mara River. It was an emotional and unforgettable spectacle.
Another unforgettable moment was finding a pride of lion brothers that had just brought down a buffalo and were feeding on it. Watching such a powerful scene in the wild was something we will never forget.
Thanks to Mimi, we saw an amazing variety of wildlife, including both the black rhinoceros and the white rhinoceros, as well as elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, buffaloes, and countless other animals. The only member of the Big Five that escaped us was the leopard—but that's the beauty of nature, as this magnificent animal is incredibly elusive.
Throughout the trip, Mimi always positioned the vehicle perfectly for photography, drove safely even on the roughest roads, and shared information about the animals. His passion for wildlife and his commitment to giving us the best possible safari experience were evident every single day. He uses to be the first in any place so be ready to wake up early.

Great first safari!
My teenaged son and I traveled to Kenya for our first ever safari, and it was a wonderful experience! I did a ton of research beforehand, and Savannah Woods was one of the few operators that was able to give me everything that I was looking for and also fit our budget. They replied promptly and made any requested changes.
We did a three-day safari in the Maasai Mara with Kenneth as our guide. Ken was amazing and had 14 years of experience guiding all over Kenya. He had a great sense of humor and was happy to answer all of our questions, plus he was impressive at spotting animals and was a safe and considerate driver. We were able to see lions, a cheetah, a dozen elephants, and more zebras and wildebeest than you can count. A great first safari experience!

Incredible week across four parks
We have just finished the most fantastic week on safari with Serengeti Wakanda. We did a private tour for 3 people. Our guide Issa was incredible- always finding us the best viewing spots while still respecting the animals’ space. He was so knowledgable and we saw everything we hoped for and more! 3 leopards, 2 cheetahs and 2 cubs, 4 rhinos, countless lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and so much more!
We stopped in Tarangire, lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro, and all brought wonderful unique elements to our trip.
The accommodations we stayed in were the perfect places to stop at the end of long days of game drives.
The team made booking this trip easy, and were great with answering any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Possible fraud alert
Hekima Safaris required us to pay the full cost of our safari one month before our trip, despite our contract stating that the final instalment would be paid upon arrival. Hekima insisted they needed the full money before the trip to pay for the national park fees and secure the hotel reservations. However, our problems began immediately. On the first day, our guide had not been given money for fuel from HEKIMA and we had to advance USD 230 so the safari could even begin. We were accommodated in some hotels that were not those agreed in our contract, and at one lodge in the middle of Serengeti National Park we were required to pay USD 716 ourselves because, although Hekima Safaris had made the reservation, they had not paid the hotel. When we contacted the company, they claimed they were experiencing banking problems, leaving us with no alternative but to pay if we wanted somewhere to sleep that night.
The same pattern continued with the park fees. We were delayed entering Serengeti because the reservation was not valid, and later we were stranded for around five hours at the exit towards Ngorongoro because the required payments had not been made. During this time, the Hekima company stopped answering our calls and became unreachable. We lost the final day of our safari, because the guide abandoned us at another accomodation not payed by HEKIMA, instead spent it at the Tourist Police in Arusha filing a formal complaint. We are now taking legal action to recover the full cost of the safari, together with the additional expenses we were forced to pay because of the company’s failures! SEE YOU ON COURT, MOPOO!

Excellent attention to detail
I travelled with a friend to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda with Wild Uganda. The service was at all times of the highest standard.
Both of our guides proved to be extremely good at providing information and carrying out any special requests we had. They were friendly and polite at all times.
The guides were also highly adept at spotting wildlife.
This company offers excellent value for money and if I return to East Africa, I will gladly travel with them again.

Axis Africa was very communicative and quick to get back to me. I got the second-cheapest accommodation and I loved it. Our guide, Mimi Kelvin, was really good at getting us to the animals efficiently and stopping for as long as we wanted. He shared some cool facts as well. Overall a very solid experience.
