I recently traveled solo with Morning Star Safari on a scouting trip through Kenya, with the goal of identifying new locations for the photographic safaris I lead professionally. I came back genuinely impressed on every level.
From the first exchange, Joysharon was sharp and responsive. Nothing fell through the cracks.
My guide and driver James was the real highlight. Exceptionally knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the wildlife and ecosystems we were moving through. Traveling solo with a specific target list of species, I needed someone who understood what I was after, and James delivered. We ticked off an impressive range of animals across Buffalo Springs and Samburu National Parks, which genuinely surprised me with their diversity and the quality of sightings. A very different feel from the more well-known circuits, and well worth the detour.
We closed the trip with a night at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a great way to break the drive back and end on a high note with the Black and White rhinos. And when my flight was delayed, James made the most of it with a visit to Nairobi National Park, which turned out to be a worthwhile bonus stop.
As someone who scouts destinations professionally before bringing guests, I leave with full confidence recommending Morning Star Safari. I'll absolutely work with them again.

Thanks to his engaging explanations and keen eye, we were able to spot many animals and learn a great deal about their behavior and habitats.

The Most Perfect African Honeymoon
Our experience with Savanna Safaris and Tours was seamless from end to end.
Emmelyn created the most perfect itinerary tailored to us with such little input from us she created an amazing trip with visits to cities that we never would have even contemplated.
The accommodation that was recommended was beyond expectations. Everything was comfortable, clean and the level of hospitality in Botswana at these camps was heartwarming. We were very, very well fed throughout our days and they catered for different tastes.
Emmelyn took the stress of holidaying away and each transfer was seamless. It was incredible how the transport companies communicate with the camps- everything just happened for us! Each guide and pilot/driver along the way were all very friendly too.
Emmelyn provided comprehensive information to us with no surprise fees. The group sizes were intimate with only a max of 4 other guests in the jeeps with us at any time.
There is nothing extra that we could have wished for. She truly allowed us to have the best honeymoon!

Our 7-day Kilimanjaro trek (Rongai route) with Nafika Tours was an absolutely unforgettable experience from start to finish. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive throughout the journey.
Our guides were exceptional—experienced, encouraging, and always focused on our safety and well-being. They carefully monitored our health, set a comfortable pace, and shared fascinating information about the mountain, local culture, and the surrounding environment. Their positive attitude kept our spirits high even during the most challenging sections of the climb.
The porters and cooks were equally amazing. The meals were fresh, delicious, and surprisingly varied considering we were on a mountain. The camps were well organized, and everything ran smoothly each day. It was clear that Nafika Tours genuinely cares about both its clients and its staff.
The 7-day itinerary provided excellent acclimatization, which helped our group successfully reach the summit. Standing at Uhuru Peak at sunrise was a dream come true, and we couldn't have done it without the incredible support of the Nafika Tours team.

Go with Compass Odyssey, they treat you as if you're their only client
Our safari with Compass Odyssey in Sabi Sand and Namibia has exceeded our expectations beyond our wildest dreams. A few weeks prior to departure I had an injury that affected my mobility, and immediately Darren made arrangements on all our flights so I would be assisted appropriately and ensured my rooms would be situated most conveniently for my injury. The trip was extremely well organised, and we felt assured we were in good hands every step of the way. When I texted Darren to say I needed to be connected at all times with phone signal (a mission in Namibia!) due to an emergency at home, he immediately checked and reassured me that thankfully the lodges upgraded their wifi.
Darren was also infinitely patient in putting together our itinerary (which changed many times!), and providing the best advice so our trip would flow well and we could make the most of our time there. We communicated our priorities in Namibia to photograph Deadvlei at sunrise which led to him proposing we stay within the park instead of outside. Our guide Elvis was an incredible driver and a more incredible person to spend our time with - he could spot animals from literally a mile (he pointed out mountain zebras that we could really only see through his binoculars). He sorted out every detail, and shared so much about Namibia and their culture, during the long drives. Once he dropped us off at the water hole while he took care of procedures, and we saw a black rhino there! In 40 hours (highly recommend anyone else to stay longer) in Etosha we saw lion, cheetah, rhino, elephant and MUCH more, all thanks to Elvis. I also threw Darren a curveball after we 'finalized' the itinerary leaving him to book a horse ride for me out of nowhere - he found the best stable that treated their horses right, and gave us a beautiful Moonscape ride.
In Sabi Sand, Darren had arranged a private game drive vehicle which felt incredibly luxurious (and also the extra space helped my condition). All transfers were also organised smoothly, our safari began immediately with Surprise, our driver, pointing out animals between the drive from the airport to the lodge!
Compass Odyssey were very quick to respond to any and all queries we had (we had alot!!) - we felt like we were their only client. Being traditionally "DIY" travellers that booked our own trips, booking via an agent went against every instinct but I can safely say its paid off beyond what we imagined. We felt like we got great value out of this trip and most importantly felt very well supported. We definitely plan to use Compass Odyssey when we return to Africa.
