Great guide, awesome management
In August 2025, we visited beautiful Kenya, booked a tour at Sumian safari, and were satisfied with the guide and the trip as a whole. However, the manager's job is terrible - for 6 months I have been waiting for a refund for the hotel (we booked a certain hotel, and on the day of arrival we were informed that it was cold and settled in a more budget hotel). I've been promised a "money transfer tomorrow" for 6 months.

An Unforgettable Tanzanian Safari on Our Honeymoon
We had the most incredible safari experience again! Last year we travelled with this company in Kenya, so when we booked our flights to Tanzania it felt natural to contact our planner James to help us plan and coordinate another safari. James was, as always, quick to send us a detailed quote and followed up consistently. He was always available if we had questions, and we felt safe, taken care of, and well informed from the very first message.
Our guide Jackson was truly exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable at all times. On every drive he shared insights about plants, trees, climate, culture and of course animals, always with a big smile. When it came to the game drives, he was absolutely phenomenal. Jackson was always early to the best spots, positioned the car perfectly for viewing and communicated efficiently with other guides in the parks. We also noticed that many guides stopped to ask him for updates because he always knew exactly where the animals were. Thanks to him, we saw incredibly rare sightings including lions under our car, baby leopards, countless lions and lion cubs, lions mating, cheetahs and cheetah babies, and of course the entire Big Five. Every time we thought we had seen it all, Jackson surprised us with something even more amazing.
We were on our honeymoon this time, and James made sure to let the accommodations know. Because of that, we had a surprise waiting for us every time we checked in at a new place which added such a beautiful touch to our stays.
The accommodations were very good, and the car was spotless every day. We always had cold water, soft drinks and snacks that Jackson provided for us.
Towards the end of our trip we had to make some unexpected changes due to our cancelled and rescheduled flight back home which meant staying an extra day. James handled everything for us and managed to rebook our domestic flight and take care of the necessary hotel adjustments. It turned a potentially stressful situation into something completely hassle-free.
Overall, it was an amazing 10 out of 10 experience.

Wonderful experience
We had a truly wonderful safari experience! the communication with Meru Slopes was excellent, responses were quick, and individual requests, such as an early check-in, were taken into account. We felt well looked after in every way.

The Perfect Safari with Collins: More Than a Guide, a Friend
Our 11-day safari across Kenya was the trip of a lifetime, and the biggest reason it was so special was our amazing driver and guide, Collins (Collong). From start to finish, he went above and beyond — always organized, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shared fascinating details about every park, animal, and local tradition, making each moment richer and more meaningful.
Collins was always on top of everything: timing, routes, park entries, and every detail in between. His communication was excellent, and we felt completely safe and cared for throughout the journey. He wasn’t just a guide — he quickly became a true friend to us.
His Toyota Hiace 4x4 turned out to be an unexpected highlight! It was more comfortable than the Land Cruisers we saw around, with reclining seats and enough space to stretch out and even nap in the last row during long drives. The lower open roof made it much easier to stand up and take photos, especially during animal sightings — a photographer’s dream.
In the Masái Mara, Collins worked closely with a local Mara spotter, and together they helped us track down the Big Five — an unforgettable experience! Their teamwork and instinct for finding wildlife were truly impressive.
What really made the experience special was how personable and friendly Collins is. His communication was excellent, and he always made sure we were comfortable and informed. He anticipated our needs before we even asked — truly on top of everything. By the end of the journey, he felt less like a guide and more like a friend traveling with us.

An unforgettable Tanzania trip – authentic, individual and deeply touching
I love exploring Africa and its unique wildlife. After trips to South Africa and Namibia, I chose Tanzania this year – and embarked on this journey full of anticipation together with two friends. Our very personalized tour was organized through PARAMOUNT Gorilla Expeditions, as my friends had traveled with this operator to Uganda last year and already knew our guide, Kenneth, who speaks fluent German.
Kenneth accommodated all our special requests during the planning process. He was extremely flexible and reliable. Together with our equally warm and competent English-speaking driver/guide, Regan, we set off in a safari jeep on our 12-day tour.
During the trip, we learned an incredible amount about the country and its people, their culture, and their agriculture. We visited ethnic groups such as the Hadzabe and the Maasai, gaining fascinating insights into their daily lives and traditions.
The professionalism, passion, and warmth of our guides left a lasting impression on us. They shared their profound knowledge of flora, fauna, and culture with enthusiasm. On this trip, we truly became a small family.
What will I remember most?
Wonderful, sometimes wild landscapes. Bumpy rides along endless gravel roads. Fascinating sunsets, which we enjoyed while sharing good conversation. An impressively diverse wildlife. Nights in secluded, atmospheric tented camps, where the sounds of nature were our constant companions. And above all: the feeling (even as a solo traveler) of being completely safe at all times.
This Tanzania trip deeply touched me – through the encounters, the landscapes, and especially through the people who accompanied us.
