We have no hesitation in recommending Grassrootz to anyone wanting to tour in Uganda.
After doing thorough research into numerous tour companies, we chose Grassrootz based on communication, flexibility with itinerary, accommodation etc and competitive pricing. It was a great decision. Our driver and guide was Barnice who was excellent. It truly was a trip of a lifetime and if you have time, it is worth going to Uganda not just for Gorillas but for multiple other amazing wildlife and nature experiences.
Breathtaking, amazing, and worth the $!
I went with a few friends and we had the best time! Everything was super smooth from the start, we got picked up from the airport and were driven right to the accommodations. The service throughout was top tier, every driver we had was amazing! The food was also amazing, and they gave us good portions. The communication was fast and easy, we communicated through email and then through whatsapp once we got there. The wildlife we got to see was breathtaking, and all of our guides put in the effort to make sure we saw everything we could. Highly recommend!

all animals seen, very good roads, natural sceneries. Fully recommended.
watch out: Rhinos are not seen in the park since ever, basically no one remembers to have seen one. rest of animals are present and abundant.
Nyerere is a good option for those travelling from DAR and Zanzibar.

Review about Tarangire National Park by Dineia Pereira
Tarangire is a beautiful park known for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds. The scenery is unique compared to other parks, and the wildlife viewing is excellent, especially during the dry season when animals gather around the river. It’s less crowded than Serengeti or Ngorongoro, which makes for a more peaceful safari experience. A great choice if you enjoy nature and want something a bit off the beaten path.

Stunning, giving Emotions
With Dallas Safari, we had great emotions and memories. Henry is great as driver, making the experience memorable and unique. We saw many animals and we did full day around trying to spot wildlife. Emotions with lots of Elephants, lions, Yienas, Giraffes, Zebra, etc. Rhinos are not in the park we visited, that's clear.
River safari was also great, with crocodiles and hyppos.
Lodge was ok, considering we were in the middle of africa 5h drive from Dar Es Salaam.
Just one note: driving safety concept in Tanzania is far away from Europe. To be addressed to the driver.

Tanzania is a land of breathtaking landscapes, and abundant wildlife
Tanzania is an amazing destination, and the safari experience was unforgettable — the wildlife sightings were incredible, and our driver was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge and professionalism made the trip so much better.
However, we faced several issues with group coordination. Since everyone stayed in different places, we lost a lot of time organizing and waiting. There were also complications with participants from another company joining our group, which added to the confusion.
Additionally, we were informed that water would always be included, but we ended up having to pay for it during one of the dinners, which was disappointing.
Overall, the destination and the safari itself were wonderful, but better planning and clearer communication would have made the experience smoother.

The most knowledgeable, kind, funny, likeable person ever who is super passionate about his work
I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but Jackson from Top Selected honestly deserves all the credit in the world. My girlfriend and I spent 8 days on safari with him, plus another excursion he organized for us before the trip, and it ended up being the best travel experience I’ve ever had.
From the moment we met him, it was obvious how experienced he is. He has been guiding for 17 years, and you can see that in the way he notices things long before anyone else does. He took us into parts of the parks that other guides never even attempted. Most vehicles stayed clustered together on the same roads while Jackson confidently drove us through routes that were completely empty. Because of that, we saw wildlife and scenery that nobody else around us got to experience.
What surprised me most was how respected he is within the industry. Other guides stopped their cars just to talk to him or ask him questions, and many mentioned that he had trained them when they first started. You can tell he’s someone everyone looks up to. Even once during a game drive, he saw another tour guide and company had popped his tire and Jackson stopped quickly to help the other tour guide replace his tire.
I also have to mention the food because it was unreal. Every time we looked around at other groups, they were having cold sandwiches, apples and packaged snacks. Meanwhile, we were getting hot meals packed with meat, fresh juices, appetizers and desserts. The chef clearly cares about his cooking and it showed every single day.
Throughout the entire trip, Jackson stayed involved and made sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything. He never rushed us and he always checked in to see if we were happy with the day. He’s knowledgeable, reliable and genuinely easy to be around. He is packed full of information about all the animals whether it’s a lion, cheetah, or elephant or even a small bird or snakes.
If you’re planning a safari, I would recommend Jackson without hesitation. He turned an already exciting trip into something unforgettable.
