Perfect organized, best tour guides and a great day at Mikumi National Park.
We had an absolutely wonderful safari experience in Mikumi National Park and couldn’t have wished for a better day!
From the very beginning, everything was perfectly organized. The hotel pickup was smooth and punctual, the flight to Mikumi was comfortable, and the entire day was very well planned. We always felt well taken care of and could simply enjoy the experience.
A special thank you goes to our fantastic guides, Sebastian and his colleague. Both were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. They clearly knew the park very well and did their best to make sure we had an unforgettable safari. We were incredibly lucky and saw all the animals we had hoped for, including lions and some amazing encounters that we will remember for a long time.
The whole experience, from the organization and transportation to the safari itself, was absolutely seamless. Mikumi is a beautiful place, and experiencing it with such great guides made the day even more special.

Fantastic and reliable
My wife and I have just finished our 8-day safari in Tanzania, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience.
Choosing Kojuu was actually not a difficult decision. Among all the safari operators we contacted, Jesca, our consultant at Kojuu, was the only one who took the time to carefully answer all of our questions and pay attention to every detail.
My wife and I are very used to traveling independently as a couple, so before starting our safari, we were honestly a little anxious about what it would be like to have a guide traveling with us throughout the entire journey.
But our guide, Hija, was absolutely amazing. He was not only incredibly friendly and easy to get along with, but also took excellent care of us throughout the trip. His knowledge of wildlife, combined with his passion, patience, and dedication to finding animals during the safari, truly made our experience so much more enjoyable and memorable.
If you are reading this review while planning your Tanzania safari, I can honestly say that Kojuu is a fantastic and reliable safari operator. And Hija is an absolutely wonderful guide! I would highly recommend asking for him if you have the opportunity.
I wouldn’t say that a safari is necessarily a once-in-a-lifetime experience, because I know for sure that I will come back to Tanzania again in the future. And when I do, I will definitely choose Kojuu again.

Jolene from Safari.com was excellent in arranging our safari lodge experience. She spent time listening to our previous experiences, what we were looking for, our budget and requirements for the accommodation and was able to offer a range of options for us to select from. We decided to stay at the Imbali safari lodge, which was excellent. Great value for money and whilst not cheap, we truly felt looked after and would recommend the lodge to anyone looking to visit the Kruger national park.
The park itself was wonderful and gave us a different experience to other national parks we have visited. Animals are not always prominent in number but we were able to find plenty of game as a result of our guide.
An excellent experience all round, cannot recommend safari.com and the people at Imbali lodge enough!

Lion King Adventures was very efficient since the first contact, giving all the informations required and trying to adapt the tour on mine and my husband's wishes!
Also, the prices charged were very fare and honest for the offered service!

Kelvin with Serengeti Clarity made the difference from a good safari to a GREAT safari. Kelvin is truly an animal whisperer. He studied their behavior and never followed the crowd. He found us amazing sightings with perfect vantage points. He was fun, informative, and an all around great guy! Frank, the owner of Serengeti Clarity communicated extremely well, answering all of our questions before and during our safari. I cannot recommend Serengeti Clarity and Kelvin enough. Skip Aye-Aye Camp, skip Madagascar Natural Tours, and book directly with Dounia Lodge
Speaking as to the 8 day Masoala Safari Adventure - just skip the agent entirely. Aye-Aye Camp suffers from severe deferred maintenance - the toilet seat was broken to the point where I was sitting on sharp plastic bits which bit into my arse, and there was no replacement available although there were only two occupied huts; the wood in the front steps to my hut was so badly rotted that it broke under my weight; and the pillows were moldy. Dounia Lodge, and the manager of Dounia Lodge, Maya, were exceptional. The lodge was clean, the food was well prepared (although the portions were small for the amount of walking we were doing each day), and there is both beer and alcohol available for purchase. If seeing the elusive Aye-aye is high on your list, I suggest an overnight on Nosy Mangabe in place of Aye-aye camp. The manager of Aye-aye camp was the only location that requested and worked around our food restrictions.
Please be aware that you will need to rely on Madagascar Airlines and my flight to Maroantsetra was delayed 4 hours, eliminating any activities on the night of arrival, and my flight back to Tana was cancelled and didn't fly until 27 hour later. Do not plan a Masoala adventure around Madagascar Air being on time or even the same day as scheduled.
As for the remainder of my tour that I arranged with Harilala - it was a disaster featuring a hotel in Bekopaka that I wouldn't have stayed in when I was in my 20s and doing budget travel with the boys. Strong smell of urine, stained sheets, and a shower with no shower head - just a hose. The other lodging places secured for the second half of my stay each smelled of old, musty, mildewy linens. I find this to be unnecessary, as the linens at Dounia, in Masoala, the wettest place on the island of Madagascar, smelled fine.
The guides that were provided for Aye-Aye Camp and Dounia Lodge were not good. Neither of them wanted to be there, and other vacationers staying in the same locations and doing forest walks at the same time with different guides, all saw more animals than we did - every day. I do not know who arranges the individual guides, but they were evidently the cheapest available, and either marginally skilled, or uninterested in being there.
Andisibe and the surrounding area - I don't understand why anyone would pay to go here. Harilala squeezed this in between Maroantsetra and Morandava due to a purported flight cancellation by Madagascar Air, leaving us with a gap between our days on the wet side of the island and the dry side of the island. The road is horrific - and if you are going to drive it for 5 hours each way, you should be planning at least 3 days at Andisibe to justify the ride. I wouldn't though. Not worth it. This part of the trip is not what we contracted for, and wasn't anything we wanted to do, but it was thrust upon us by Harilala. We agreed to go, but in retrospect, the time could have been better spent doing nearly anything else.
Morandava - the guide assigned to us for the dry side of the island, Marina, was a delight. She worked really hard to fix the shortcomings of the tour that Harilala booked, was attentive to our needs and desires, and did get us to see and do what we really wanted to do on the dry side of the island. Even though Harilala's schedule forced us to hike Tsingy des Bemaraha at the hottest part of the day - which I really advise against.
As to me, this is my prior experience with African safari travel and safari lodges. I have done game drives in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Tanzania previously, participated in a walking safari in Zambia, and in a boat safari in Chobe, Botswana; summited Kilimanjaro; and gone on a 5-day whitewater trip on the Zambezi.
Overall, the island is wonderful, don't plan on doing anything the same day as you travel on Madagascar Air, and maybe take a pass on Madagascar Natural Tours.

Knowledgeable guide with excellent service
We had the best honeymoon safari with Gosheni. The communication with the booking was excellent, Herman would answer every question we had and checked hotel availability for the ones we chose. Really enjoyed the package he put together and it was flexible to our needs.
Our guide Haruna is very knowledgeable and experienced. He was very tentative and listen to what we wanted to do and tried his best to spot animals we wanted to see.
All in all excellent experience and would recommend Goaheni to our family and friends!
