Review about Kenya by J C Mills Photography
Kenya has a fantastic variety of landscapes, wildlife and birdlife. Some of the popular parks and lodges can get very busy in high season but choose the time of your visit and your accommodation wisely and you will have an unforgettable safari.
Relaxing day unwinding after climbing Kilimanjaro
We visited Arusha NP the day after climbing Kili. The journey over from Moshi, where we were based, showed us more of the region, and Arusha NP offered an un-hurried day out. Our guides took us to their favourite spots; we saw many giraffe and zebra, baboons and colobus monkeys. Best treat was seeing Flamingos in a ring 1-3 deep all around big Momela lake. The park is very scenic, especially Ngurdoto Crater, and it would be good to return to see more of it, perhaps by climbing Mt Meru. Arusha NP offers quite a contrast to the almost complete absence of wildlife on Kili!

Lake Nakuru - flamingo-less but still worth it
Lake Nakuru suffered flooding in 2012 which has had 2 negative effects; the flamingos have moved on to other rift valley lakes and many of the lakeside roads are now underwater. However new roads have been put in and there is now a large area of interesting flooded acacia forest teeming with birdlife. The park also has hard to see rhinos, scenic woodland, waterfalls, and cliff top vantage points over the lake. Good lodges on the hills overlooking the lake. worth visiting if combined with other national parks.

Very nice safari with well organized from Nairobi, excellent tent accomodation.
I came to Kenya first time 1980 at the age of 15 to realize a safari dream. Have returned many times and also in my language published books about the animals included many stories and photos from Kenya. Now for the first time I travelled to Amboseli that was very nice experience. The savannahs are teaming with animals and I can just imagine how it would have been some years ago when the big cats would have been more presence and also when the black rhinos existed there. Let´s hope they can return. One of the hightlights was to see so many species grassing together such as a buffalo, a hippo, sebras and wildebeest that they did one morning. I also was surprised to find some gerenuks, the giraffe anthelopes that I thought only were to be find in northern areas around Samburu.

They were excellent drivers, friendly and funny guides and knew clearly what they were talking about
We had a group with young and old people. The drivers/guides were so respectfull to the
elderly people but they also connected so well with the younger kids. The kids loved to be in the car with the drivers Protas and Cosmas. Even now since we are at home they still talk about them.
We got so much information from Protas and Cosmas about the wildlife and we could ask any question at any time. We learned so much from them, they gave us a part of their knowledge.. A big thanks for that.
They took care of us, they made this safari a special trip for our big family.
Bibi and Babu (the grandparents) were so happy during this trip, so thanks again for that!!

Capable and reactive
Despite a big hole in our tent roof, services provided by WS Safari (one week Kili ascent, Machame route) were professional and satisfactory. 11 crew personnel for two, including an excellent cook and a proficient as well as dedicated guide.

Good experience with low budget
The BigTime safaris is good company they could develop a very good program for you and follow up with you to make sure your are satisfied especially with the low budget I paid. The food however is not that good in Kenya camps but in Tanzania they provided private chef which cook for you whatever you like but you need to mention the food you like before you travel so that they prepare the materials.
The Tnazanian counterpart who should take care of us in Tanzania on behalf of BigTime Safaris were not a honest guy and tried to decive us of bus tickets by doubling the price but when we contacted the bus company they confirmed that the price is half of what we paid him so after confronting him he admitted and returned the money ($90) and refused to drop us to the bus station which was 15min walking ( difficult with luggage) and it was very early morning no taxis

It was a grand experience with this great team in this wonderful country which is Botswana .
The guide (Kenny) was really great. He found every animals which were hiding in the bushes. And, for the cooker (Simon) , his meals were delicious.
Nonetheless the sleeping bags was not enough hot for the night temperatures, and the zip of the tent was broken.
However , despite all of that, Kagato Safari is an amazing safari agency.

Fantastic time!
This was my second time up the mountain with the same company. The crew is well prepared, accommodating and very supportive. Mt Kenya is just the most spectacular hike you will find in Kenya and I look forward to a third time some time soon.
