Review about Etosha National Park by Eduardo Canut

4/5

Best place on earth to see black rhinos. Okaukuejo waterhole is the best waterhole on earth (saw 3 of 5 big 5, lion, black rhino and elephant). Clear routes. Depends on the time you drive, is hardly to see good sightings. Possibility to see rare sightings like Rock Monitor Lizard.

Great experience, very dedicated stuff, we will never forget this adventure
4/5

Shabani was very nice and helpful all along, even before we came to Tanzania, and gave us very good advice about other things in our trip that didnt have to do with the Safari.
Abdul the guide was funny, interesting and has a lot of knowledge. He is the reason the experience was so good.
Everything was planned to the last detail, if there were problems it was mainly because of the infrastracture in the locations - for example the long time waiting before the entrance to the parks, but it has nothing to do with African travel tours

Lots of animals in a small space
Overall rating
4/5

Ngorongoro was the start of my safari vacation, and I'm glad it was at the start. Pretty much all the animals you're looking for are there, and you can see them in less than a full day.

However, it felt really over-crowded to me in an almost sickening way. There was one point where a female lion was sitting by the side of the road, and literally 30 safari cars pulled beside her to look. Because of all the cars, she lost track of her cubs and was crying out for them over and over. It was hot, the middle of the day, and she was scared. I was very sad.

very good experience 3 days Masai Mara
4/5

We ( 3 pax) booked a 3 days Safari to Masai Mara from Kisumu. Organisation was flawless with very quick responses to inquieries and in finding solutions. Everything went smoothly and was well organized. The driver/tourguide Lukas was an excellent driver and we never felt insecure even in crowded traffic. In the park he had an excellent knowledge of wildlife. He was also very interested in showing us as much as possible. The safari vehicle provided was the only thing which was not to our full satisfaction. For the safari it was fine, as it was an old but very robust 4WD bus with a push up roof and a very hard suspension. Which was the big disadvantage for the 6.5 hours road trip to and from the park. It would be wise to consider providing a better transport - including one with a fuctioning air condition - for the long distance drive and swich to the safari van only for its purpose. In total we had a nice experience, saw a lot of animals - of course the agency cannot be credited for that - but it must be credited for the very good organisation and the selection of the excellent driver-guide.

Working with Classic Journeys Africa
4/5

As a travel planner it was good to work with Charles at Classic Journeys Africa as he was extremely prompt in getting back to me. Despite the time difference he was able to address all my questions and concerns very quickly. He was also very flexible when we had to make some changes even after finalizing the itinerary. I look forward to working with him and Classic Journeys Africa again.

Great Masai Mara camping safari with good service!
4/5

We went for a safari from Nairobi to Masai Mara for three days.

The safari was great. Our guide really did the best he can to show us all the different animals. It would have been nice if he showed a bit more initiative by telling about the area and animals. But if we did ask ourselfs, he could tell us a lot. He was available and around any time if we needed him.

The camping place was very nice. A beautiful spot, big tent, real bed, even a hot shower. Also the food was nice.

If we wanted to extend our safari, it was possible anytime to arrange this.

Before and after the safari we had a free pick up and drop off from the hotel. Unfortenatly the didn't tell us we had to pay extra for the drop off, because the hotel was to far.

The staff from the tour operators where very friendly and helpfull. While meeting one off the guys before me made a booking, we did find him a bit pushy to make business.

Overall we reccomend to book here!

a well organised Kilimanjaro experience, with outstanding guides and a great team of porters
4/5

the communication about the various options was good, and the service received from all ( from the pick up at the airport, the drivers and especially the guides and porters) was great !
we did change the itinerary , in the last 2 days of the "Whiskey route", to suit our pace and needs, and the guides were very supportive. A special thank you note goes to Jerome for having taken us to see a doctor in Moshi, on our return, and still making it in time to the Kili airport !

Wonderful trip through northern Uganda
4/5

We had a very beautiful trip through northern Uganda, provided by Grassrootz Adventures. With George as reliable driver and guide we have traveled quite some distance through the special landscape in the north. We stayed in nice, simple places. Grassrootz likes to support local communities by organizing nights in these local communities.
The bandas and rooms are basic but fine. The people were so helpful and caring for us! The food is cooked with love and we had to make do with what is locally available. And that's fine. Very occasionally we also enjoyed a (quite a lot) more luxurious setting, that was also received as a huge gift!
The tour (Kampala - Moroto - Kotido - Kidepo Valley National Park - Murchison Falls National Park - Fort Portal) was superb and highly recommended!

A Challenge..worth taking!
4/5

Lional. at Matoke, Uganda was a great agent and organized my 8-day tour very well. Andrew, my tour guide was an ornithologist extraordinaire, a good safari guide and knew the roadways very well. He made an effort to ensure I saw what I wanted to see. However, the terrain when tracking chimpanzees and more so, Gorillas, was a challenge. It was a marvelous experience I would not have missed but I believe Matoke Tours should ensure that their clients are aware that a certain level of fitness is required for those searching for primates in the dense forests, the walkways erected some years back are in serious decline and crossing streams is achieved by taking your socks and shoes off. All this adds up to a level of 'risk' so I believe health insurance is more of a 'must do' and should be suggested at the time of booking. Due diligence! The Ugandans are very friendly, helpful and pleasant and at the lodges more so. Had a great time I shall always remember.
