Friendly contact and quick responses
4/5

After the initial booking, the agent contacted me quickly with a few follow-up questions. Shortly before the booked stay, we had to change our schedule, that also worked very well with the support of the agent!

A beautiful stop to relax and do some game viewing and birding
Overall rating
4/5

Lake Mburo makes a perfect stop on the way to Entebbe when your'e coming from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. It's beautiful national park which offers excellent opportunities for bird watching. The wildlife may be described as "light" but it's improving thanks to the relocation of 19 Rothschild's giraffes.

Private 8 day, 7 night safari
4/5

Peter was fantastic throughout the whole process of organizing the itinerary, communicating promptly with us to the point of collecting us from the airport. Was very nice working and meeting Peter.
The safari was great. It was organised exactly as we had expected and our driver Leonard was awesome. The places we stayed in varied from good to fantastic and I recommend ending your trip at Amboseli National Park.
My only criticism would be that the safari van is in need of an upgrade. The window latches were broken so you could not lock them (bad on the dusty roads) and also some seats were unable to recline back. Also on the itinerary it stated binoculars and books would be provided, however, this was not the case.
I definitely recommend working with Peter again in the future and if I were to go back would look to have a safari organised again with Peter and MC Flash Tours.

Pleasantly suprised
4/5

We booked a 3 day overland tour from Windhoek to Sossusvlei not quite knowing what to expect. The driver met us at the airport on time, dropped us off at the hotel and picked us up the following day from where we travelled to the supermarket to pick up provisions. The 4x4 was robust and air conditioned and our driver was very well-versed on a number of subjects. Camping on top of the vehicle was an experience and we switched to the tent the day after, but the sites were much better equipped than expected. Great evenings cooking food as the sun set - a great way to start our southern Africa tour

The driver was great. lovely personality, very flexible and knowledgeable.

the hotel/camp was terrible. 'semi luxury budget camp' was only budget!

Very Good Service
4/5

Savannah Explorers fulfilled all of our safari wishes. Prior to the trip I was nervous about paying the full amount upfront and they were understanding and helpful, suggesting various methods by which we could all be comfortable and get what we want. Our pickup was smooth and extremely prompt, and they allowed us to store extra luggage that we would not need on safari at their office. Nickson, our guide, was excellent, we could not have been happier with his service! We saw absolutely everything we could have hoped for and more, not in small part due to Nickson's skill and vigilance. In addition he was a good companion, pleasant company with a lot of knowledge about the environment and animals we were experiencing. We would have liked more time in Ngorongoro, but not at the expense of anything else we were able to see, perhaps just a more efficient route. All in all I would recommend Savannah Explorers to anyone looking for a quality safari on a mid-range budget (they may well be good at all budgets, I can only speak to ours).

Everything went smooth
4/5

Everything was organized well - the driver was always on time, prepared and knew where to go. He also drove safely and kept to the speed limits.

The only issue was the road we took from Lake Nakuru to the Mara, where we didn't go the long way around on tarmac, and instead took a secondary road in terrible condition (he wasn't aware the road had deteriorated). In that instance it would have been nice if we'd selected the 4x4. Due to the road, we arrived too late at the Mara for a decent game drive, but the driver made up for this the next day by taking us on a full day drive with packed lunch where we saw every animal on the list, including leopard. The driver (I think Richard?) was very accommodating like that.

Overall, I would say everything was organized very well!

Matched our expectations
4/5

We did a short albeit eventfull safari in January and I have only good things to say about it and how it was organized. I came to realize the importance of the drivers quality and how that affects the whole experience, in our case his name was Osmam, a well educated and genuine person that had much to show us. Even though it was the first time we did safari I have traveled much in the past and have worked in some of the most prestigious hotels in the world, I feel that it was, again, excellent value for the dollar. The Ngorogoro crater is a must with a Jurassic Park feeling to it. Luxury Herritage camp is an excellent choice with good standard considering how far it is from civilization,, comtact me if you need specifics: [email protected]
