Unforgettable and very personal journey thanks to a dedicated guide and tour operator
5/5

Richard Tooro from Kabarole tours, and Percy as my guide, made a dream come true.
I stayed in Uganda for eleven weeks, combining travel and volunteering.
Richard Tooro was the only tour operator who crafted a really unique itinerary for me. I was doing a round-trip of Uganda, but taking breaks at different points where I would stay longer.
Richard really listened and understood what I wished for, crafting this unique experience for me. The communication with him beforehand and during my journey was always reliable. He always answered very promptly, kept me updated, was always open about the planning and the costs. He is devoted to conservation and edudation and dedicated to let his clients go on a journey where they can connect to the country, people and culture, as well as nature.
The same holds true for Percy. He is an amazing guide, devoted to what he does and dedicated to providing a very personal experience for his clients. Percy loves to connect his clients to the country and its people. He is funny, thoughtful, kind and caring, very responsible, perfectly organized, a great driver, amazing animal spotter, and always keeps an eye on each and every detail. He will give you great tips and guidance on the journey. As Percy is really interested in getting to know his clients, he will find all the right suggestions for you. He also knows many local guides, is well connected and very generous in sharing is knowledge and expertise. Through this you get an extra surplus when traveling with him, as other guides will also share their knowledge and help along. Percy manages every road and stays calm in the event of a crisis. Our car had a problem while in Murchison Falls and he noticed this immediatly, preventing severe damage. He got help organized, saw to that the car got fixed in time so that we could conclude our journey as planned on the next day, and also managed to get me to the boat trip I was booked on. I am forever thankful for all the stories, thoughts and laughter we shared and how easy Percy made it for me to connect to all the people I met on my journey.
For the route of my journey: I stayed in Entebbe for one week. Then Percy picked me up and we went for a Lake Mburo safari and from there to Buhoma in Bwindi. I stayed in Buhoma for two weeks to track the mountain gorillas and engage in lots of community activities. After that Percy picked me up again and we traveled via Queen Elizabeth National Park to Fort Portal. There I stayed for 5 weeks for my volunteering work at Kihingami Vocational Eco-Tourism Training Institute. While there I also booked some day tours with Kabarole Tours where Percy was my guide as well. I concluded my journey with a 13-days safari to the North, Northeast und East of Uganda, together with Percy, visiting Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, doing Cimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest, visiting Murchison Falls and Kidepo Nationalparks, proceeding to Moroto and engaging with the Karamajong, then to Sipi Falls and Jinja.
Everything was perfectly planned and organized, with nice personal lodges and a great mixture of nature and culture.
My volunteering work at Kihingami Vocational Eco-Tourism Training Institute (KIVETTI) was also organized by Richard Tooro. Originally I had planned something with another organization but as they failed me I asked Richard about volunteering options. Richard is the founder of KIVETTI, really engaged in conservation, education and community work. This turned out to be the perfect place for me, where I learned so much and was welcomed heartily. KIVETTI is also connected to the Kihingami Wetland where you can do nature walks, birding and community activities which I highly recommend.
I am aware that my journey has been special as I did not just travel but also volunteer and spent much time in Uganda. But even if you go on a normal holiday for a shorter period of time, I can only encourage to book with Kabarole Tours / Richard Tooro and ask for Percy to be your guide. If you really want to get to know Uganda both Richard and Percy have a calling for making this experience for you, as they will share their enthusiasm and devotion with you.

He ist the most passionate, professional, nature-devoted and knowledgeable guide I ever met!
5/5

We had the most amazing time with Zak and we were truly lucky to have him as our Guide throughout the Drives.
He knows everything and he is able to trace down what we wanted to see.
We even managed to avoid the terrible animal gazing with all other cars and had our private experiences that never lacked anything.
It is obvious that he loves what he does and we will be back for tours with him again not only because we loved Botswana but also because we know we will be guided by the best!
Thank you so much for what you showed us Zak!! Inspiring!

3 day luxury safari experience was authentic
5/5

My wife and I completed a 3-day luxury safari in April 2026, exploring with Herbivore African Expeditions was peaceful and enjoyable. We explored Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara, and it was an unforgettable experience. The luxury lodge accommodations were stunning, with beautiful views, comfortable rooms, and exceptional hospitality. In Tarangire, we witnessed many wildlife and specially heard of elephants, Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Ngorongoro Crater was equally breathtaking, offering incredible scenery and amazing wildlife on the same day. Last day was very peaceful experience in Lake Manyara. And we were really grateful for a great opportunity to see wildlife up close.

Truly incredible experience Isaac Habiyaremye as my guide!
5/5

From the beginning, Ibrahim from Dav Safaris was incredibly communicative and helpful answering my questions about my tour and making sure I chose the right itinerary for me for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Booking the tour was seamless and Ibrahim put me in touch with my guide Isaac, a couple days before my tour was scheduled to start.

Isaac was the best guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone! He was professional, communicative, friendly, and fun and I felt very well taken care of especially as a solo female traveler. My trip went flawlessly huge thanks to him and I will definitely ask for Isaac as my guide again if/when I come back! Thank you again for everything Isaac!

He arranged all our tour in a matter of hours. We were improvising when we get to JRO and he was really kind to us. Also I made a mistake in the payment and he managed to refund it perfectly well.

Amazing experience with the guide Idi and Myriam our cooker. We did a low budget safari and was above our expectations for sure.

Thanks to all the team!!!

Outstanding
5/5

We have recently finished seven days visiting the gorillas & golden monkeys in the Kisoro area of Uganda. The whole trip met our needs perfectly. I struggle to think of anything that Ernest at Wild Uganda or our fantastic driver Kasim could have done to have improved it. Ernest was flexible in terms of what we wanted to see and do. Kasim was punctual, attentive, good company and an excellent driver on some pretty appalling roads. I have already recommended Wild Uganda to a good friend and would do so to others without hesitation
