Life Experience
I visited Uganda 3years ago, as a student in order to work on a project about their living standars. Because of the project I met a lot of people and I have to admit that they are very friendly and hospitable. The weather in Uganda is normal, not dry but warm. The food is cheap and tasteful. They mainly offer goat sticks, soup with rice and vegetables and mattoke which is a traditional plate made by bananas. The accommodation was good as the staff was very willing to serve you, but it was a little bit slow. As far as the transportation is concered, they have "boda-bodas", which are motor bikes where you sit behind the driver. They also have buses and vans which are like taxis. The scenery is green and magnificent and there is a great variety of wildlife to explore by selecting this country as a safari destination. This safari had been arranged by the hotel where I stayed, situated in Mbarara district. We woke up in the morning and a bus booked by the hotel, took us to "Queen Elisabeth National Park". Approaching to the park we were astonished by the beautiful sunrise. Then we left it all to our communicable guide who was explaining all only in english, as the official languages are english and swahili. Small safari vans took us to indiscribably places in this huge park, driving among a lot of animals. The feeling that you get when you are so close to them cannot be discribed. It is unbelievable that you are in their natural living place. Elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, monkeys are just a few of what you can see. This is a life experience that you have never imagined!!!

It is a good destination as it has a variety of wildlife, it is huge and you cannot be sure of what your are about to see and whether you will be lucky to see all the animals that live there.
Stunning! A great place to get close to the wild!
Zimbabwe offered a great opportunity to get very close to wildlife. Most of all I was amazed by the huge numbers of wild elephants roaming very near my Jeep. this offered a wonderful chance to observe these majestic animals and take great photographs of them. Victoria falls are absolutely stunning!

Lots of wildlife. Gorgeous setting. High tourism and resort presence diminish bush vibe. Focused on mammals so will not rate birding.

I would do it again
Wildlife, scenery, weather, accommodations, food, transport, our guide - all amazing. The guides knew where all the animals like to hang out. I was only here for 4 days, so I only saw a small portion of this reserve, and I would love to go back and spend more time on my own. I worry about the noise and pollution impact of so many diesel engines, the high number of tourists in the area, the seemingly high number of dirt roads, and water consumption due to tourism in a savanna setting that seems quite arid. The hotel we stayed at was very well maintained, the staff were wonderful, and the food was tasty. I loved the architecture, and thought it contributed to the "bush feel". I appreciated the commitment to electricity conservation and the fact that solar water heating was used. It was unfortunate that our drives happened in the mid-day when lighting is not very conducive to photography. I generally do not like being on organized tours - I prefer the freedom that going alone provides - but it was worth it to have a guide here since I wasn't well educated about the wildlife and it was my first time to Africa. I hope to visit this reserve again, as well as others in the region, and would like to do a walking safari. Our group's focus was on The Big Five and other large mammals so I didn't feel comfortable rating birding. I did see a number of pretty cool birds just by chance! Four days wasn't enough...I want to spend 4 months out here!

Review about Lake Nakuru National Park by kim
Lots of wildlife, including viewing opportunities different than Maasai. Gorgeous landscaping. Electric fencing, relatively small area, and high tourism and proximity to village diminish bush vibe. Nakuru was gorgeous but felt more like a very well done zoo or Jurassic Park movie set than wild and unpredictable bush. I would visit this place again because it is so scenic and wildlife density seems much higher than Maasai, but I would prefer to do it on foot than in vehicle. Birding was excellent (it is on a lake) even though I was the only one in the group that was interested in birds (we didn't spend any time actively looking for birds).

a (very) short view in North Zimbabwe
We visited - coming from Botswana on the way to Zambia - shortly the Zambezi N.P. and the Falls. 2001 was the time at beginning of the crisis in Zimbabwe, there where only a view organized tourists at the falls and no one in the N.P. accept ourself. There were some problems with the petrol supply e.g.
Wildlife was a bit poor in the park - have seen just some pigs and a lot of monkeys, which try to steel what they could get (including closed tins and onions).
The Falls are better to visit an the Zimbabwe side than on the Zambian.
Because of the unsave situation inside the country at this time we did not travel further in Zimbabwe.
