No other place like it, scenic and nature oasis.
Rishen from MoAfrika was great! Was in communication with him constantly and he was very attentive and made our trip to Elephant Plains very special and unforgettable. If you need an agent to help you he is the man! Thank you!
Where do I begin! Elephant Plains exceeded our expectations and made or safari trip a dream come true. From the attention to detail in our rooms from the reception and housekeeping teams to the servers and chef for our meals, everything was exceptional. Carmen at the front desk especially made us feel welcome and definitely made everything much more fun for us. Now for the main event, game drives! Two game drives a day and every single one was different/exceptional! Sabi Sands really is a dream come true for big 5 sightings. Many said we would have to be lucky to see 1 Leopard, well we saw 5 different ones! What a beautiful animal. Our tracker Dion and guide/driver Nick were our team for the entire stay and they were phenomenal. Nic with his very informative with a splash of wit made every drive fun and enjoyable. Dion skills as a tracker were amazing, always on the lookout and they both even got us to see all the big 5 in one drive! With every drive you take a break for drinks and snacks. In the morning drive we had amazing coffee and in the evening we had great cocktails. The Lodge itself is amazing and clean. The dinner from chef Betty was some of the best food we have ever had! 10/10 food! We could not have asked for a better experience. My wife and I will never forget EP and this trip as it has instantly become a highlight of our life. Highly recommend EP 11/10 and we hope to come back soon!

Our favourite place we've ever been
We did a two centre Botswana trip as part of our honeymoon, with 3 days in Chobe and 3 days in the Okavango Delta. Both camps were incredible and we saw and did so much on our safaris. The delta in particular is one of those pinch me locations, and is a truly wild and magnificent place.

Tanzania – A Land of Boundless Riches and Warmth
Introduction
Tanzania is more than just a travel destination—it is an invitation to experience the pristine beauty of nature, encounter fascinating wildlife, and feel the warmth and hospitality of its people. This country in the heart of Africa captivates with its extraordinary diversity of landscapes, rich wildlife, and a culture defined by joy and community spirit. Anyone who visits Tanzania returns not only with breathtaking images in their mind but also with a profound sense of gratitude in their heart.
1. Scenic Beauty
Tanzania is a land of contrasts, captivating travelers with its impressive landscapes.
The Serengeti:
The Serengeti is perhaps Africa’s most famous wildlife sanctuary. Its endless plains serve as the stage for one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world: the Great Migration. Each year, millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles traverse the Serengeti, an awe-inspiring testament to the untamed beauty of nature.
Mount Kilimanjaro:
Majestically towering over the expansive savannahs, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s highest peak. Adventurers from around the world flock here to scale its snow-capped summit. Yet even for those less inclined to climb, the fertile volcanic slopes, home to excellent coffee production, offer a taste of Tanzania worth the journey.
Arusha National Park:
Situated between the imposing Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha National Park is often referred to as “Northern Tanzania in miniature.” With its dense forests, shimmering Momella Lakes, and open savannahs, the park offers breathtakingly diverse scenery. On clear days, the park provides stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. A true highlight is the up-close wildlife viewing: Where else can you capture a photograph of a buffalo herd or a majestic giraffe framed by lush, enchanting landscapes? This unique combination of wildlife sightings and intimate proximity to nature left a lasting impression on us.
Ngorongoro Crater:
At the heart of the Ngorongoro Crater lies a unique natural paradise. This “Garden of Eden” is home to the “Big Five” and countless other animal species. The stunning backdrop of a former volcano makes wildlife viewing here an unparalleled experience.
Olduvai Gorge – The Cradle of Humankind:
Olduvai Gorge is one of the world’s most significant prehistoric sites. Fossil discoveries here document the development of early humans, offering insight into the origins of civilization. Visiting this historically rich site is both inspiring and a reminder of our connection to this region.
Zanzibar:
Zanzibar is a haven for relaxation seekers and culture enthusiasts. Its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters invite visitors to unwind, while Stone Town, with its rich Swahili culture, narrates the island’s history. Here, nature and culture blend into a unique experience.
2. Unique Wildlife
Tanzania is a paradise for wildlife lovers, best experienced through a private jeep safari.
Thanks to the excellent organization and execution by Goldfinch Adventures, we had the opportunity to explore Tanzania’s wildlife through a private jeep safari. Every stage was filled with surprises, allowing us to witness the diverse beauty of African nature up close.
Walking Safari in Arusha National Park:
A walking safari in Arusha National Park is an unforgettable experience. This evergreen park is home to countless species of monkeys, including the white colobus monkeys and the impressive blue monkeys. It is also a haven for a vibrant array of birdlife, seen around the Momella Lakes or perched in the trees. The highlight was the intimate wildlife viewing opportunities that allowed us to feel fully immersed in nature.
Tarangire National Park:
This park is renowned for its majestic elephant herds wandering through the savannahs and its impressive baobab trees. According to legend, these trees were flipped upside down by God due to their dissatisfaction with their appearance. Their bizarre forms add a magical touch to the landscape.
The Serengeti:
The Serengeti exceeded all our expectations. Home to countless wildlife species, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, predators, and hyenas, the Serengeti provided unforgettable moments. Highlights included spotting a lion family under an acacia tree and witnessing a cheetah's thrilling chase. The famous Great Migration, where immense herds of wildebeests and zebras traverse the plains, was a spectacle like no other. Thanks to Bernhard Grzimek’s dedication, the Serengeti remains an untouchable natural haven. His vision and the film *Serengeti Shall Not Die* remind us of the importance of preserving this unique region.
3. Exceptional Hospitality
The people of Tanzania are the heart of the country. Their warmth and kindness make every visitor feel at home.
The Warmth of Tanzanians:
Greetings like *Karibu!* (“Welcome!”) and *Hakuna Matata!* (“No problem!”) reflect their relaxed and friendly way of life. Whether in Maasai villages, local markets, or the streets of Arusha, one is always met with open and smiling faces.
Humility and Community Spirit:
The people here often live modestly but impress with their contentment, humility, and strong sense of community. The joy of schoolchildren, who view education as a key to a better future, is particularly inspiring.
4. An Experience for Body and Soul
Tanzania offers not only breathtaking encounters with nature but also cultural and spiritual enrichment. With the impeccable guidance and organization of Goldfinch Adventures, we discovered Tanzania in its fullest splendor.
Cultural Diversity:
Visiting a Maasai village or exploring the spice routes of Zanzibar provides fascinating insights into the lives and traditions of the people.
Swahili Way of Life:
The Swahili way of life, marked by serenity and harmony with nature, imparts a sense of tranquility that lingers long after leaving.
Conclusion: Asante, Tanzania!
Tanzania is not just a place to visit but an experience to immerse yourself in with all your senses. Its spectacular nature, impressive wildlife, and the warmth of its people leave lasting impressions. Whether standing under the Serengeti’s starry skies, hearing the calls of the wild, or seeing the friendly faces of Tanzanians, Tanzania touches both heart and soul. „Asante!" (“Thank you!”) to this wonderful country for a journey that has enriched us forever.
