Great Safari Experience, But Some Organizational Issues
The tour was customized to our preferences, which we really appreciated. For the safari portion, our guide Richard was excellent — incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and wildlife, which made the experience even more special.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see any rhinos. In hindsight, we would recommend spending an extra day in the Ngorongoro Crater and skipping Lake Manyara, where there wasn’t much to see.
During the booking process, a few accommodations were suddenly unavailable and had to be changed, which was unexpected and a bit disappointing. That said, the safari accommodations that were arranged were well selected overall — some felt slightly overpriced, but the staff was always very friendly and the food was great.
Since it was our honeymoon, we were told all rooms would be upgraded to honeymoon suites, but it seems there was some miscommunication between Akondo and the hotels, as a few properties were not aware of this.
Our stay in Zanzibar, unfortunately, had a few issues. The original hotel was not worth the price — the rooms were not well maintained or clean, and the food was below average. Thankfully, Boris helped us find an alternative hotel, which we appreciated, but it did involve some hassle, difficult conversations, and another 1.5-hour drive across the island.
Additionally, we had booked full board for all accommodations, but upon arrival in Zanzibar, we were told only half board was included. For the premium price we paid, we expected everything to align with our booking confirmation.
Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience, but the organizational aspects could use some fine-tuning — particularly around booking accuracy and communication.

Awesome trip!
We had an amazing time with Meru Slopes! Our tour guide Andrew knew everything about the animals and plants we saw on safari and took the patience to answer all of our questions. The communication with Almachius went easy and was very friendly as well! Bewaren that in the tour information it says binoculars are included. But only our guide has his own personal binocular with him, not company property. He shared it with us. Another improvement could have been our first night at The Tourist Inn. Our room wasn't clean, towels smelled and had stains on them and you could hear street noise outside. Sleep was hard to come by, but ofcourse greatly needed when going on a safari sleeping in the wilderness in the nights to come. The last night we had the same hotel booked. We didn't want the same experience as before so we switched hotels for our last night. If you go low budget ofcourse you will have some low quality accomodations, but for us having a good nights rest and a clean shower/towels was non-negotiable. Overall we would definitely recommend Meru Slopes! We had such a good time, saw the big 5 and felt we were in good hands. Asante Sana!

Very accomodative since I had moved with kids, they were punctual and organized.
Our journey to Murchison falls was wonderful, it was our first time and we traveled as a family. Climax Safaris were accommodative of us and the kids, stopped whenever we requested to for the bathroom stops. They were punctual and very organized with snacks too. I enjoyed traveling with them and I will be using them again on my next travels within Uganda.

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by Patti
This park was smaller than the others but was still very nice and interesting.

Flexible, easy, good communication
We took Viega expeditions because they were flexible in the planning, reacting quickly, good in communication and price competitive. Everything well went before, during and after our trip. Small agency with a friendly approach. Special thanks to our driver: Charles

It was a very interesting experience with a lot of surprising things. It was amazing!
Regarding the safari It has been such a wonderful way to travel. We have enjoyed every minute going around the national parks hotels and tent camps. Our driver Charles was a very good leader who has welcomed us to his country. He has tried his best to show us all the animals and get us on time for everything. The one thing we need to note is that we were told he was going to speak spanish and the tour has been in english with that language barrier being a struggle for us.

Flexible and accommodating guide
Brian was very helpful in planning our trip to Hwange, adjusting the agenda and finding a great lodge for us near the park that was within our budget. The team at Miombo Safari Lodge, and our driver Tox, were fantastic. The rooms were beautiful and the views of the elephants every night were such a special treat. Thank you Brian for your help arranging things for us!

An unforgettable safari through unique landscapes and thoughtful organization
We took part in a 4-day safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Each park offered something special, but the Ngorongoro Crater stood out as truly unique — breathtaking landscapes and an incredible concentration of wildlife in such a compact area.
The organization by Kiliclimb was excellent from the very beginning. The staff followed us closely, adapting the program to our requests and modifying details with great flexibility. The payment process was also simple and transparent, with no excessive upfront deposits required, which we really appreciated.
Throughout the safari, their attention to our well-being was constant, and we always felt supported and in good hands.
One suggestion for improvement: make sure to clearly confirm all trip details with clients in advance, especially when it comes to accommodation, to avoid any misunderstandings.
Overall, we absolutely recommend this tour: it’s a deep immersion into African nature, organized by a professional, flexible, and caring team.

We thought our guide did an outstanding job with what he had to work with.
When we reached out to Big Apes Africa - the itinerary sent over was very professional-like. However, it was never communicated with us that we needed our e-visa before arriving to the airport. With hours to spare and not enough time - we reached out to say we needed to cancel our booking and then, miraculously for an additional charge, we got an expedited visa.
With that out of the way, we loved the chimpanzee and gorilla trekking experiences. We do want to make others aware that the drive times were not communicated clearly and we spent 7-9 hours traveling each of our 4 days.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were provided, however, one of the day days our driver got lost (no GPS) and we arrived to our lodge at 10 PM and chose to skip dinner. All in all, we would recommend, but would be interested to see what a longer experience.
