Unforgettable safari experience with Jocky Tours
4/5

We went on a 10-day safari in Kenya and we are extremely satisfied with Jocky Tours. We had absolutely no problems starting from the initial emails to Minneh to the drop off at the airport at the end of the trip. Minneh is very friendly and responsive. We never had to wait for more than a day to hear a reply from her. The overall cost of the safari was very reasonable even though we had a customized itinerary. We had our own private safari vehicle and John, our driver cum guide was beyond excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the national parks and the animals and we had a number of excellent sightings of the big five. Our accommodations at Amboseli (Kibo safari camp) was excellent and a nice end to the safari.

If there was one thing that could have been better, it would be the accommodations at Masai Mara and Nakuru. We were in a camp at Masai Mara and in a regular hotel in Nakuru city. Both these places were clean and comfortable but it could have been better. One suggestion to Jocky Tours would be that they should offer the customer the option of staying at slightly more expensive campsites/lodges and then let the customer decide if they want to pay more or not.

But overall the entire experience was wonderful and I would definitely recommend Jocky Tours!

Fantastic moment

4/5

We spent 4 days in Madikwe, staying at Tau Game Lodge. The safaris were fantastic, with a lot of wild life (all the expected ones except the wild dogs). Tau Lodge is also very nice with its pond in front of the rooms where the animals were coming all day long to drink and play (elephants - a lot, lions, girafes, ....)

We enjoyed all the wildlife and scenery of this park. It's also not as busy with tourists in jeeps. Animals are comfortable being close so it's great for watching their behavior and photographing.

I had heard there was so much wildlife congregated in the crater but felt I saw more in other parks. Maybe it was the time of year, as we visited in the winter.

Much wildlife was seen in this park as well as many birds. Not real crowded with other tourists.

About: Go2Africa
Cape Town to Vic Falls (Accommodated)
4/5

My partner and I did the 20 day Cape Town to Vic Falls trip and were very happy with the overall experience. We made enquiries with a number of companies, but Gelle at go2africa was by far the most helpful and responsive. In addition, after we booked she answered a myriad of our random questions with speed and expert advice.

The trip itself was wonderful, our group only consisted of 8 people so we had lots of space in the truck and our tour leader (Shadwell) and cooks (Saima and Norman) were really kind, informative and professional. The range of accommodation was dependent on the varying places we visited, however, it was always very clean and well maintained.

The highlights of the trip for us were Okavango Delta, Chobe national park, Dune 45, Deadvlei, desert walk, night game viewing at Etosha national park and Fish River Canyon.

We would strongly recommend anyone to do this tour, as it is an amazing experience.

Matabo is a great destination, scenic wise. We stayed at the Shumba Shaba Lodge in a spectacular setting.

Affordable safari, comfortable accommodations and we saw a lion up close!
4/5

Our tour guide, Tony, was very kind. He answered our questions as we drove to the national park and throughout the safari. His English was fine; we did need to repeat questions and did not always understand him. We would have liked him to share a little more information with us on his own (without us asking). We always felt safe with Tony driving.
The hotel accommodations were very comfortable - better than I expected for the low price we paid for the safari. It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and we had all the amenities we needed.
We saw wildebeest, elephants, giraffes, baboons, hippos, impalas, zebras and several other animals on the safari. Our highlight was seeing a lion from 10 meters away. Tony always made sure we were ready to move on before driving away from an animal.
Kanuth was timely in responding to our emails and questions. We were very happy with the low price for the 2-day safari.

Amazing Safari in Noth Tanzania over a week
4/5

Karibu Safari came highly recommended by a friend, and their travel agent was very responsive to my e-mail correspondence in regards to planning my trip to Tanzania. I provided him my list of destinations I wished to see and they created a private safari itinerary to fit my interest at mid-level safari prices that I could afford. They literally provided door to door service from the airport to our hotel and even to our friends residence at the end of our safari. All their drivers were friendly, safe, and came in clean vehicles. Our safari guide was very experienced and knowledgeable about all the animals, plants, and local habitats. He was able to take us to see 4 out of the 5 big five animals (lions, leopards, elephants, hippos) along with pointing out many birds and other shy small animals like the dik dik. The company even provided high quality binoculars and he had good animal identification books to provide even more details about what we were seeing out our car vehicle. The first tented lodge we stayed at (Sagaiwe) was amazing, the food was excellent, and the lodgings were luxurious, they even had a pool. Unfortunately, none of the other places we stayed at could meet their high standard, but the staff at the Kenzan kirura camp were the friendliest and most helpful, and all of them were clean and safe. I was a bit disappointed to only be served Western styled food during our trip, it would have been nice to have tried some of the local cuisine for a more complete experience. When planning a safari trip, it is important to ask about road conditions and duration of travel between destinations, as I found that short distances on a map can take much longer then expected to traverse when its on unpaved dirt/gravel roads, which can waste precious vacation time. I would recommend visiting Tarangire, Lake Maynara, Ngorogoro, & Serengeti, to anyone wanting to experience everything in North Tanzania. If you are prone to motion sickness, I would recommend Lake Victoria over Lake Natron, unless you want to climb a volcanic mountain in the dark. The day guide that Karibu Safari provided for our hike of Kilamanjaro was very friendly and had a good eye for spotting wildlife, a good companion to have on a 6 hour hike. In general, Karibu Safari did a great job communicating with me, except during Ramadan, when our main contact was unavailable. They provided experienced friendly guides and good drivers, decent food and clean lodgings, and they helped us coordinate all our travels by taking care of booking plane tickets, rides to and from airport, booking hotels, and all the paperwork at every national park, and road fees; so that we could just sit back, relax and enjoy the trip.

Very good experience with Kay Adventure Tours
4/5

My wife and I booked a 6-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania through Kay Adventure Tours. Moureen was very good with helping us customize our itinerary and ensure we were well prepared for our trip. We were surprised by how luxurious some of our accommodations were (e.g. the Kati Kati Lodge in the Serengeti was absolutely lovely). Thank you very much, Moureen!
