Got upclose with the animals

The wildlife is exceptional, you can see the big five as well as numerous birding opportunities. The weather is just perfect for safari and accommodation is top notch.

One of the best South African Safari destinations.

PGR is one of my favourite destinations in South Africa. It boasts great numbers of game including the Big 5. One can do self drives or go on a game drive with knowledgeable guides.

Amazing elephant river crossings

4/5

Guide was great. The boat ride on the river was an amazing way to see the wildlife from a different perspective. Wildlife was a bit scarce but we did have two river crossings to watch with elephants which was the key highlight. Great sunsets. Chobe Elephant Camp was great, the staff were very accommodating.

Chimps were fascinating and the natural surrounds were really lovely. A nice stopover between Kampala and the seeing the gorillas.

Wildlife is excellent - best worldwide. Scenic beauty - lovely. Birding in northern Tanzania really good most of the year.

From a photography point of view few destinations (in South Africa) can beat PGR.

We were unable to see many cats during our visit. The meerkats in Makgadikgadi brought the best out in all of us. We were also lucky enough to see an African Lynx while we were there. We prefer private drivers and moving from camp to camp with different guides was not as special as East Africa. Drivers seemed to give the same schpiel.

Uganda is an emerging tourist destination compared to its neighbours. Independent travel is definitely more possible here compared to the other locations and it is much cheaper. If you're going on safari, choose your company and accommodation wisely, it's a real mixed bag!

Great Company - Great Trip
4/5

We had a really good trip with Kilimanjaro Budget Safaries...it was well organized and all four of us reached the top of mount Kilimanjaro...thanks to the guides and their advice...
The food was amazing, we wouldn't have expected to get such nice meals on our climbing trip...also the porters were really nice.
I recommend the company...and would do a Kili-Tour with them again...

Well laid out 2,5 day Safari tour
4/5

We booked the tour based on recommendations and were not disappointed. We were picked up promptly at the small Arusha airport and taken to the Cloud View lodge, which is a small hotel on the outskirts of Arusha. The hotel was Ok and quiet.
We had a good briefing of the program The hotel is ok. We then went on a tour to a near by Masai settlement. This could have been better organized. Lots of waling on the main road and a somewhat cramped journey back in one of the local taxi buses. We went to the Tarangire National park, well worth the visit, but watch out for the Vervet monkeys when you have lunch. We stayed the Sunbright campsite in Mto Wa Mbu. Fairly basic. The tour operator brought a cook that provided ok breakfast and dinner. On the third day we visit the Ngorongoro crater. spectacular. The supplied 4x4 game drive vehicle was good and the driver/guide very good. The last day we visited the Lake Manyara NP, very close to village where we stayed, before we departed from the Arusha Airport.
