The most heart filling, life loving experience!
I decided Kenya was the next place I wanted to travel to last year. So after much research and asking around. I came across shanjoy safaris in February. And my gosh am I so glad I did! My mother joined me on the trip of a life time this October as we travelled all through Kenya with the purpose of wildlife photography and that’s exactly what we got to experience! Kimani was our tour guide for the 10 days there. And after doing several safaris in South Africa in previous travels and years, he is definitely one of the best safari guides I have ever had! His knowledge on EVERYTHING was incredible! From birds to plants, to large mammals, to the culture, history and general questions of Kenya. We learned so much! My mum who’s not a wildlife photographer but a pure animal lover joined me as well and we had the best little girls trip! And she loved every moment! The three (Kimani included) of us all got along so well! And the 10 days with Kimani was nothing short of incredible. If I know anyone that plans to travel to Kenya. I would suggest Shanjoy and Kimani without hesitation.
The itinerary itself was a busy one! But I love and chose it to be this way so I could capture as much life and diversity through my lense as possible. Visiting 5 national parks in 10 days! We got to explore and experience so much diversity through the beautiful country of Kenya. The lodges we stayed at each night were also incredible with buffet food options for every meal keeps us well fed and rested between safaris.
I’d also like the make the very important note. Being a wildlife photographer, wildlife ethics is so important to me. And Kimani and Shanjoy safaris ticked those boxes for me! There was no harassment of animals. We stayed respectful to nature, taking photos of each animal quietly before moving on not to overcrowd animals with safari vehicles while Kimani also did his best to get us in picture perfect spots.
He knew and understood the nature and wildlife so well he was able to get us to some incredible sitings. And even though wildlife is wildlife nature is nature, you are never promised anything, we got so lucky to experience such beautiful sitings.
I’d also like to make a special mention to Rhonda. She was in contact with me from February and stayed in contact all the way through. Any questions phone calls, fast replies. She got back to me. Coming from Australia and Kenya being so far away from home but a place I was so drawn to. It was natural to have some nerves mixed with excitement and Rhonda was always able to answer any questions and verify any concerns. Along with helping me come up with the most amazing itinerary so without her this trip would not have been possible.
So to wrap up. This is a must do with the most incredible safari company of passionate nature loving guides. I have every intention to go back to Kenya in years to come and Shanjoy safaris will be the first place I’ll be ringing to book a tour and making special request for Kimani. Would recommend this company to anyone. The trip was perfect.

Disappointed overall
They changed my accomodation last minute and also my pickup time the day before.
The drop off I was passed between drivers and eventually had to order my own Uber since people were continuing on to another destination.
The guide was just ok, and his personality didn't really fit the tour. Overall I think there are better options

Amazing piece with unique people
Recommend definitely to all. We spent 2 days full of adventures and fell in love with the place and the people. We did a full day safari tour, a river boat tour, visited a Maasai natural village and all the time we were surrounded by friends. Wish to come back soon.

Charming place with friendly host. Everything was well planned, delicious food and comfortable slee.
Next to the river, astonishing view. We stayed in a bungalow, with a bathroom and toilet inside.

Great Experience!
This safari was unbelievable! We really enjoyed everything, from planning to end. Accommodations were very comfy and cozy, staff was friendly and helpful everywhere. Tortilis glam camping was our favourite but we also enjoyed Wildebeest, while we were completely immersed in nature.
Our guide David was so good, in driving, spotting animals and helping us understand everything we needed to know. We also felt safe in every situation. Very much recommended.

Eugene was a great driver and knew everything about all the animals. He was very funny and kind.

Excellent safari experience with a professional and friendly team!
We had an amazing experience with Tausi Trails Adventure. The communication before and during the trip was clear and professional, and the service exceeded our expectations. Our driver was experienced, reliable, and very friendly. The safari was unforgettable — we saw the Big Five, enjoyed great food, and everything was well organized from start to finish. The later trip to the waterfall and hot springs was also a wonderful experience.

Thank you to Ritesh and Ajay at Shoyona Safaries for organising a cracking tour. We were six of us we all had soo much fun also our driver (Dharminder) who went out of his way to take us everywhere.He could spot all the animals there were to see and made sure we didn’t miss anything.

Amazing time at Ukutula
Ukutula Reserve was an amazing place with unbelievable experiences like walking with lions and petting a cheetah. Carson was an awesome driver who went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. I left my portable battery in his van and he made sure I got it back by 6:30am so I could take it to Krueger with me
