A Truly Unforgettable Safari Experience with Loren African Safaris
My wife and I recently returned from the most incredible private safari in Tanzania, expertly arranged and guided by Loren African Safaris. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, personalized, and deeply memorable — far exceeding our expectations.
Our journey took us through the stunning landscapes of Tarangire National Park, the vast Serengeti, the magical Ndutu region, and the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater. Each destination offered something unique, and thanks to our guide, Benjamin — who is also the owner of Loren African Safaris — we were able to enjoy every moment to the fullest.
From the very beginning, the communication with Loren African Safaris was excellent. Benjamin was responsive, informative, and accommodating in helping us craft an itinerary that matched exactly what we were looking for. Every question was answered thoroughly and promptly, which made planning smooth and stress-free.
Benjamin is not only a skilled and knowledgeable guide, but also incredibly passionate about wildlife and conservation. He made it his mission to ensure we saw the Big Five — and he delivered on that promise. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the time he gave us with each sighting. We were never rushed. Whether it was quietly observing a leopard after a hunt, watching a family of elephants interact, or marveling at lions at sunrise, Benjamin allowed us to be fully immersed in each moment, which made all the difference.
His ability to track animals, share fascinating facts, and read the landscape made our safari not just an adventure, but a rich learning experience. The level of service he provided was above and beyond — every detail was thoughtfully handled so we could simply relax and soak in the magic of the bush.
And when it comes to value for money, Loren African Safaris truly delivered a great deal. For the quality of guiding, the personalized service, the accommodations, and the unforgettable experiences we had, we feel we got incredible value out of every dollar spent.
If you are looking for a truly personalized, deeply enriching safari experience, we cannot recommend Loren African Safaris enough. Benjamin’s passion, expertise, and warm hospitality made this the trip of a lifetime.

Great beauty
The biggest take-away for us from our trip to Tanzania is that the country is huge, and so are the parks. There is a lot of driving to get to your destinations, and once inside the parks, the roads are difficult, long, dusty, and bumpy. If the roads are properly and regularly graded, the experience would have been a 5/5 stars!
Other than that, the people are very friendly, kind, and happy. The food is amazing!
Our Tanzania experience is truly unforgettable!!

Absolutely stunning Safari, perfectly organized by Tapestry
I'm back from a truly wonderful Safari experience, perfectily organized by Matt and his team. Matt was great and had to show quite some flexibility in making quotes as our request were of very short notice time and we had some late changes in our plans he had to deal with. But he did a great job and gave us the feeling to have chosen Tapestry was the right idea. And it was. First i went with a friend on a 6-day private tour in Kenya. We visited Ol'Pajeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara (2 nights), Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate. Matt, Hilda and Albert did a great job with the hotels/lodges, and our driver/guide John was an excellent choice too. He had a great eye for spotting animals. He almost always saw everything interesting first, although we tried very hard on our privileged place on top of the Land Cruiser. Where we saw stones or bushes, he saw a lion in the grass or a leopard lying in front of a bush far away. Hence we saw the big 5 and a lot, lot more on our Kenya Safari Trip already. All mentioned parks are worth a visit and are different from each other so it never got boring. I then went alone on another 7-day safari in Tanzania, where i started with a new driver, Yudah, in Arusha and we visited Tarangire (2 nights), Serengeti (3 nights), Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. Again all the hotels/lodges were great choices, Yudah was a really competent and great guide/driver as well. I had an unbelievable blast on both safaris, and our drivers had a lot to do with that. I also learnt a really lot of them about the animals, how to differ between females and males on baby animals, their speeds, behaviours etc etc. Wow. Thank you Team Tapestry for this absolutely stunning experience you made possible for us/me.

7 Day: Nairobi-Maasai Mara-Nakuru -Amboseli-Tsavo East-Diani
Kennedy arranged our fantastic week long trip to 4 national parks, was patient answering questions and helped to arrange train tickets for our trip back from Mombasa; we highly recommend Bienvenido Tours. We decided on taking this trip just a month before leaving, therefore it was not surprising that two of the hotels turned out to be unavailable, but Kennedy found good replacements.
This kind of tour requires a lot of time on the road between parks - driving through countryside and towns is fascinating as well, but be prepared for many hours on highways and very bumpy roads. It was therefore all the more pleasant to have a great guide and person, John, along for the ride. You are doing yourself a great favor if you ask for him and he's available; he made all the difference.
One change that I would recommend, when in Nakuru, ask to stay somewhere else than the Buraha Zenoni Hotel. It's not so much because it's not nice, but that it's just a hotel and seemed the odd place out compared to the wonderful lodges we otherwise stayed in.

Unreliable
We had booked and paid for a five-day safari, including two nights in the Serengeti. However, we only stayed in the Serengeti for the first of the booked nights. We had to spend the following night in heavy rain, in a musty-smelling camping tent, with damp bedding, at the Ngorongoro Crater. The agency had confirmed in writing in advance that we would only be sleeping in houses and not in tents, so we didn't have any camping equipment with us. We're definitely not sensitive, but this is unacceptable! Our complaints were dismissed by the agency with excuses, and we felt they didn't take us seriously. Furthermore, our safari guide was not customer-friendly and showed little interest in us. Fortunately, on the last day, we were assigned a different safari guide, who was very good. This was a coincidence, however, as the original guide had to return to the city on short notice. As compensation, we were only offered a trip to a waterfall in the Arusha/Moshi region after the safari, which we found completely inadequate and therefore declined. One star is awarded for the excellent food on the safaris and for the guide on the last day of the safari. Another for the houses where we stayed. The parks and the wildlife are wonderful, but the aforementioned circumstances unfortunately spoiled the tour for us.
