We wanted to do something really special for our honeymoon and decided on a safari in Tanzania. Although we made this decision rather quickly, finding a suitable safari operator took a lot of time. There are so many operators, they all seem similar, and it was difficult to find any real differences between them.
So we said: we want a local company that knows the area really well, is committed to animal welfare, and keeps our money in the country rather than sending it abroad to someone else. In the end, we decided on Safari Soles, and luckily we made the right decision.
Communication with Irine (via email and later via WhatsApp) was relaxed and friendly from the start, and we felt very well taken care of. She understood our needs and wishes very well and put together our perfect tour after more than 10 variations.
Eric picked us up from the airport in Arusha on the first day and gave us an interesting tour of the city. We then spent the remaining six days on safari with our guide Chris, and it was absolutely fantastic! Chris went to so much trouble, had an answer to all our questions, and has such a good sense of where certain animals are likely to be found. Thanks to him, we saw two leopards, lots of lion prides, and hyenas, and he was even the first of all the other guides to spot a distant rhino on our day in Ngorongoro Crater. He also kept asking us how we were doing, responded to our needs, and showed us at least ten times as many animals as we had planned to see. That was crazy and so amazing!
We couldn't have asked for a better guide than Chris! He's just a really really cool guy and we had the best time with him. Asante sana, Chris!!
We would also like to thank the entire Safari Soles team for their dedication and support when we were stuck at our accommodation during the riots surrounding the elections in Arusha, as our flight was canceled. This showed us how much Safari Soles cares about its customers (even in difficult times).

Four Nights … Big Five - David Sasine
I’ll say it again in case you missed it in the title: four nights… Big Five… and five leopards - three adults and two cubs.
This trip was unreal.
From the moment David picked us up from our hotel for my partner’s 30th-birthday safari, it was obvious we were with someone exceptional; patient, warm, and genuinely invested in making the experience unforgettable.
The drive from Nairobi to the Mara set the tone. Smooth, calm, and just the right amount of information. David somehow knows exactly when to share something fascinating and when to let you sit back and enjoy the landscape. It’s a balance most guides don’t get right. He nails it effortlessly.
Every single morning, he showed up ready to go, fully committed to helping us track down the more elusive animals. His energy never dipped. Ours didn’t either and it worked. Over four nights, we saw it all: lions, buffalo, elephants, both kinds of rhinos… and then the leopards. Not one, not two, FIVE, including two tiny cubs. Yes, luck played a part, but there’s also something to be said about being with a guide whose instincts are that sharp.
We made a few adjustments to our itinerary, and David didn’t just accommodate he elevated. Every alternative he suggested ended up being the right call. He even helped me organize a birthday surprise in a Maasai village, which turned into one of the most authentic cultural moments of the entire trip.
We arrived with David as our guide and left with him as a friend. There’s no question: we’re coming back to Kenya!

Thank you so much for an unforgettable journey. I travelled with my mother, and we both felt incredibly comfortable throughout the entire trip. The car was spacious and immaculate, the drinks were thoughtfully prepared, and both hotels were lovely—especially the second one, which we absolutely adored.
Every day, Ken drove with remarkable ease and confidence. He always seemed to know the quickest routes, could even locate the nearest facilities in an instant, and his knowledge of wildlife was exceptional. His explanations of the animals were precise, insightful, and vividly delivered, bringing every moment to life. Ken consistently spotted animals before anyone else and patiently circled around to ensure we had the perfect angle for photographs. Thanks to him, we captured some of our best shots ever.
