Warning! Do not use Cheng Ngong Tours
1/5

From our experience, I suggest you do not book with Cheng Gong Tours!

28th of December 2025 my friend and I was going for a 6 days safari with Cheng gong tours. There had been a lot of problems prior to our departure with changing of prices to much higher prices all the time with different excuses. We finally agreed on the price and payed half through bank transfer and then we payed the rest in cash when the driver came to pick us.

The driver seemed to be intoxicated or high because he was driving fast and reckless.

This resulted in a CAR CRASH where we almost died. The car flipped on the side and slided several hundreds of meters before it stopped. I was severely injured and my friend was hurt too. There was no ambulance and no police that came to help but we had help from other safari companies to get out of the vehicle.

This is when the problems started for real.

The company CHENG GONG TOURS REFUSED TO PAY OUR MONEY BACK even though we almost died. They have been lying and betraying us since that very day and done all they can to NOT COMPENSATE us.

I believe Cheng Gong tours is the worst company in all off Kenya. If you want to stay alive then don't book

I am still suffering from my injuries after 5 months and I have tried to be nice and I have tried to threaten them but they don’t care. I’m in the process of hiring a lawyer now and also filing a police report for endangering my life, or even premeditated murder since they sent an intoxicated driver. They stole $3100 from us and left of on the side of the road with no help at all. A private person had to take us to the hospital and then we contacted SOS International and they sent flying doctors to pick me up and fly me and my friend to Nairobi. The accident was in Narok.

Update: people are asking why we went with an intoxicated driver and why you can’t see more injuries, so here is more detail for those that don’t believe me:

He seemed fine at the start of the journey and then we noticed that he was driving to fast and we asked him to slow down and take it easy. When we came to our first stop at Narok we went to a cafe and the driver went his own way. After that he seemed less okay and started to drive really recklessly and I think he might have been smoking weed or something by then since it was very obvious that he was really reckless and he was about to go off the road and hit a lot of women and children when my friend shouted out: what are you doing? That is when he snapped to it and turned the vehicle so hard to the right side of the road that he lost control and it flipped on the left side where I was sitting so I hit the ground really hard and got very injured (internally so you can’t see it on the pictures). I broke my elbow, got a sever head trauma and dislocated my hip so it will never be okay again and also hurt my shoulder. I have constant pain since the accident.

Everything went smoothly.
5/5

We used Extra Miles Unique Adventures for our 10 day safari and everything went as planned. Our driver/guide Eric was the best. He was a very knowledgeable guide. We did see all of the Big 5 animals. We felt safe and in good hands threwout our tour. We would use them again without hesitation.

Recommend
5/5

We can only recommend the company:
-communication prior to our trip was effective and fast
- the trek itself was great and very memorable. The whole team took good care of us. We hade 3 hot meals every day, nice variety, plus snacks in between, sufficient amount of fluids. The guides gave us a lot of advise thanks to which we acclimatised very well. They also accommodated our needs, for example change of pace, shortening the trek because of our good physical condition and mentally “pushed” us to the summit.
Thank you for the experience and wish your company all the best.

Excellent, great value and attentive
5/5

My mother and I did the five day safari to Amboseli and Masai Mara. Our driver Meshack was amazing, he picked us up at 7:30 on the first day and looked after us very well for the whole period from Nairobi. We chose the 4x4 jeep, and would absolutely recommend to do, for comfort and convenience.
Meshack drove like the wind and got us from A-B faster and any other car on the road. He was incredibly kind and worked so hard for us, he wanted us to see everything we could in the time. When we told him that we didn’t like being around all the other vehicles of safari, he listened and went out of his way to give us a really special day away from most other land cruisers. His knowledge of the Masai Mara was amazing, but we would recommend learning about the animals beforehand or taking guides. He loved watching the animals, which made it even more special because you could tell he loved his job and his home in the Masai Mara. He was incredibly proud to be Masai, and that made it special as well. Would recommend going to the village as well, but be wary not to be pushed into spending money on things that might not be as authentic as they say - but it’s a great experience. They were kind.
The value for money was very good, but the food probably wasn’t as good as other parts of Kenya that we have experienced. Sangura was incredible and they were very attentive and kind, Simba Oryx was ok, but probably wouldn’t choose it again.
Thank you Balu and Morris. You were brilliant and we would 100% recommend to our friends.

Amazing!! A job well done
4/5

The driving safari was brilliant and the guide and cook “Bruno” were both excellent.
The guide “Manjori” was excellent at spotting wildlife too, he went the extra mile taking me a long way to see the lions.
Which I really appreciated!
The thing that stood out for me was the open top roof on the 4x4.
You could stand up and move around seeing wildlife and the surrounding area from a brilliant perspective.
All the other tours were seated 4x4s.

Unforgettable
5/5

We spent over two weeks exploring the beautiful country of Uganda with Openbill Safaris Uganda, and the entire experience completely exceeded our expectations. It was a truly immersive journey that was deeply respectful of the local communities, nature, and the territory. Our itinerary covered all the incredible highlights Uganda has to offer. We went on thrilling wildlife safaris, and the absolute highlights were the life-changing gorilla and chimpanzee trekking experiences. Beyond the wildlife, Openbill Safaris did an amazing job of immersing us in the local culture. They even organized a trip for us to watch an Africa Cup of Nations match live at the stadium, which was an unforgettable, high-energy highlight! Emmanuel and his team looked after every single detail with maximum professionalism, passion, and care. If you are looking for an authentic, perfectly organized, and eco-conscious adventure in Uganda, I highly recommend traveling with Emmanuel and his team. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

My gorilla Safari was very good
5/5

Tarasis and the People Link Safaris were the perfect choice for my Gorilla trip to Uganda.
From the start, the booking process was very good, with helpful suggestions based on his knowledge, and it really worked for me. Besides that, I recommend People Link because it was smooth and straightforward. This made me feel that my travel interests are understood. I managed to see the big five in Ziwa and Murchison Falls.
Everything was well planned for me from the time I booked, through my arrival, to the safari.
I recommend Tarasis and People Link to anyone looking for an unforgettable trip to Uganda. All my travel interests were met, and I thank the team at People Link Safaris. The is professional and equipped with knowledge. I recommend Tarasis as a good Consultant and Hannington as a knowledgeable guide from People Link Safaris. I highly recommend them to any traveller looking for the best safari and a memorable experience.
