The tour FAR exceeded our expectations
Even before I came to Uganda I was impressed by how quick and promptly Reagan answered all our inquires and how well organized all steps of the booking was. We had a 7 days tour inluding Zhiwa, Murchison Falls, Kalinzu Forest, Queen Elizabeth NP, Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi and it was absolutely incredible. Our guide Solomon went out of his way to make our trip as enjoyable as possible and he made us feel very safe and taken care of every step of the way. He is such a kind, polite and sweet person and you can tell he is very passionate about his job. The lodging and the meals were all top notch. The game drives were fantastic, we saw so many animals and beautiful landscapes. Solomon prepared us well for the gorilla trekking and it was absolutely mind blowing. The tour was perfectly organized down to every single detail! Would I come back to Uganda, I would definitely travel with Dav Safaris again.

Kibo Camp and Sarova Mara outstanding, Sopa resort ok, Sarova Lion Game hill is under construction and was a disappointment for us.
It was a well organized trip, Amboseli is great to start with, Lake Naivasha is best for bird spotters (which I am not), Lake Nakuru is small and beautiful and Maasai Mara is the absolute best!
We were very blessed to have Sebastian as our assigned guide and driver! He is smart, pleasant, experienced and absolutely customer-focused! If you can, make sure to have him as your guide. We have met other guests and their drivers and were so lucky! Sebastian always knew where to go, fought for the best spot around a picture-worthy location, rearranged the car and made it an unforgettable experience for my sister and I.
The food was good throughout, the choices are plenty and suitable for all preferences. The packed lunches are simple but enough to keep you going when you’re out for a full days game drive.
If you need the loo, find a tree or use the washrooms in the parks if you are nearby.
Pack max. 50% of what you plan to bring, you won’t need it.
Mornings and evenings can be chilly - a jumper is recommended.
Bring a UK adapter and a powerbank, mosquito spray comes in handy at night.
We had an e Sim which worked well (Holafly).
We didn’t bring any US dollars but drew Kenya Shilling from ATMs.
Overall we were very happy with our operator Steve, who organized the trip for us. Very friendly, always responsive and also helpful when we had a few issues with the Sarova Lion Hill hotel.
We booked the private tour, so only my sister and I in the car, which was lovely.
Would definitely recommend to book here - we had no major issues at all!

Incredible last-minute Samburu safari with Velvet Savannah Safaris!
Long story short, I was in Kenya in May during the fuel strikes in May 2026, so I hadn't booked a tour in advance. The moment I heard the strikes were cancelled, I started looking for a safari to Samburu National Park, one of the parks I hadn't had the chance to visit yet. Velvet Savannah Safaris was one of the first to reply with a great program, and they were even able to start the tour the very next day! After the pick at the hotel in Nairobi the safari started already the moment we where leaving Nairobi with Titus sharing all kinds of info on the areas we were passing trough. We stayed for our 3 day tour at the Eco river camp which is located inside the park what is highly recommended if you don`t want to loose time with travelling to the park in the morning and arriving late when animal activity slows down later due to the heat. an. The accommodation is run by locals and very basic but this was totally made up by the friendliness and delicious Swahili food they prepared . Our driver, Titus, is an extremely experienced guide with deep knowledge of this and other parks . He anticipated animal behaviour and movements perfectly, always positioning us in the best spots for close-up shots. Thanks to him, I am incredibly happy with the photos I got of cheetahs and a leopard. I highly recommend booking with Velvet Savannah Safaris and asking for Titus!

Very professional and friendly
I had an amazing one day trip to Mikumi National Park. The wildlife experience was incredible, we were able a variety of animals in their natural habitat. The guide was professional, knowledgeable, and made our trip remarkable from start to finish. Everything was well organized and scenery was breathtaking. Thanks to Steve, the incredibly easy booking via WhatsApp, and the fabulous driver and guide Solomon, who accompanied me for two wonderful days, this was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. Solomon is a very good spotter. He sees animals that other guides simply drive past. My highlight: the Baby lions!
