Once again, we enjoyed a wonderful, adventurous, and intense journey through beautiful South Africa, in KwaZulu-Natal. Everything was impeccably organised by Geert and his team at Tailor Made Safaris. Our trip took us, among other places, to Kosi Bay Forest Lodge, located in the stunning iSimangaliso Wetland Park, close to the Mozambican border. From there we spent a few nights in Tembe Elephant Park, followed by St Lucia, where—after five years—we finally experienced a very special evening scene: several hippos, including baby hippos, emerging from the river that runs alongside St Lucia and walking straight through the main street!
To conclude this exceptional journey—made even more meaningful by the three books we had read about the remarkable origins of this reserve—we spent three nights at Thula Thula: peace and tranquillity in the heart of Zululand.

Well organized and kind
We had a great experience with Extreme Wilderness Adventure and would definitely recommend them.
Communication before the safari was clear and efficient, via WhatsApp, and I always felt reassured and well supported during the planning process. At first, sending the payment without a formal guarantee felt a bit risky, but everything turned out to be perfectly organized and reliable.
We did a private safari, just the two of us in one jeep. Our guide was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional, and he also spoke Italian, which was a big plus. Thanks to him, we managed to see all of the Big Five, as well as a leopard and a cheetah. The safari pace was quite intense, but absolutely worth it given everything we saw.
The vehicle was comfortable. Water and lunches were included and were good, and we appreciated that breaks and stops were flexible and decided together.
We chose the 6-day luxury safari and the lodges were beautiful overall. Only one lodge did not meet our expectations in terms of cleanliness and food, but aside from this, the experience remained very positive
In terms of value for money, the safari was definitely worth it. I would recommend Extreme Wilderness Adventure to both couples and friends looking for a well-organized and memorable safari experience.
