The chimps are really great. The forest is not at the same level of Bwindi, but it’s really good. I would like to see snakes in there, but it was not possible.

If the sun and weather helps, this could be great.

Best time of the life with Julius, but pre-tour communication from the company can be improved!
We had a blast on this tour with Julius, exploring the mainland Tanzania. He was a funny and informative guide, and very accommodating. We started early and often ended late, and he not only ensured we were comfortable, but also ensured that we were getting the best experience! Thanks to him, we managed to see all the big 5 - and the cheetah hunting as well! Stuff of dreams! Really appreciate you Julius!
Couple of things which I wasn't a fan of:
1. The communication before the trip from the company was very sporadic which made us a bit nervous (there was no proactive comms around our upcoming trip)
2. The daily meals (especially if you are vegan/vegetarian) were very basic, and often without a protein.

Sylvia & great guy JOHN (guide) very professional, knowledgeable, lots a patience & great humour
Overlall the trip was good, safari, accomodation, food etc.except the concept of africa you build over years through books, TV, social media etc. seen herds of wild elephants, giraffs etc. you dont see at every safari. lake manyaara was VERY AVERAGE - just saw few animals every 30 mins or so! one giraff in a the bush at a distance. few lone bulls - pachyderms. A better choice would have beeen Tarangire. ngorongoro crater was really good you see varieties of wild life, birds and ungulates. again no herds of elephants! The food at stays and packed food were great. Recommend highly Green Mountain hotel. rhino and leapards very rare.
It's advisable for the company FIRST requests the tourist what their requrements are, instead of offering a standard package, Will never recommend lake manyaara safari. Prabably the best place to see wild life is serengeti.
Just a word about Sylvia the contact at Monkey - excellent communiactor with effective prompt action.
Arusha you except to be hot but it's cool. you need a jumper/sweater- a hot tea/coffee in a themos would have been great during safari.

Customer friendly
We went on $360 per person experience for a 3D/2N trip to Masai Mara.
A huge shout out to Ms.Monica who handled every tiny query of ours with much patience. Her approach was precisely the reason we went ahead with Axis Africa.
Our stay was super comfortable but with a few issues such as the leaking toilet floor which eventually got sorted out to a certain extent.
The local food was great.
Our driver Saddam was very courteous and respectful.
Our trip to the Masai village was the highlight for our daughter as she loved interacting with the locals.

Kenya is the go-to place for wildlife enthusiasts
The national parks and reserves in Kenya are world class safari destinations. Masai Mara is magnificent, but personally I preferred Amboseli because of the various landscapes and huge amount of elephants. Also Lakes Naivasha and Nakuru are definitely worth checking out, especially for bird lovers. The weather in June was somewhat chilly, so you will want to bring a jacket with you. All the Kenyan people we met were extremely friendly, although the service culture and infrastructure are still developing. The scariest thing I encountered was the traffic culture, so think twice before renting a car. A safari company with a driver is a good option.
They provided the best guide king Julius
If the review was about our guide only I'd give 10 stars.
Julius was absolutely superb , kind, funny, knowledgeable, and got us so respectfully close to get us those picture perfect moments we dreamt of . Julius was considerate with each different member of the group and catered for every bodies needs constantly with a smile and a sense of humour.
Axis themselves were well priced , their accommodation choices were superb we stayed at the Sopa lodges and they are nothing short of perfect ( we even got engaged in one )
My only negative is that their communication styles need to be improved , and their logistics of where guests are staying need to be considered more .
However Julius made our trip into a dream come true .
Thank you Julius .
