Beyond all expectations
5/5

What amazing hosts! All communications with Shoes, Thamia and Johanna were responsive and informative. This made us feel complete trust and confidence in them before we even arrived. At all times Shoes and his co-hosts who were our amazing chefs, Martin and Tuwan, were accommodating of our interests and needs, ensuring we were comfortable and engaged in choices about the types of experiences available. What I really loved was that Shoes (what a treasure this man is!) is a highly credentialled and experienced guide who delighted in sharing his vast knowledge with humour and passion - nothing was too much trouble and no question was dismissed. The Khalanga Safaris family made the most wonderful holiday memories and indeed have made us eager to return for more. If you are thinking about a safari experience, and you can travel in a family and friends group - go with Shoes and the team.

Very professional, well organized!
5/5

We used Dallas Safaris for a one-day fly in safari to Mikumi national park. After being picked up from our hotel in Zanzibar, with the driver arriving ahead of the agreed time and waiting patiently for us, we flew with a local charter plane to the park. On landing the guide, Riccardo, was already waiting with the safari vehicle and after a quick toilet stop we started our drive. Riccardo was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, sharing his knowledge and passion for the park. We managed to see loads of wildlife, including lions, and after a nice lunch we went on another drive before flying back to Zanzibar where the same driver was waiting to take us back to the hotel. Overall a superb experience and truly very well organized!!

We loved our safari! Our guide was fantastic and we were able to see so many animals. The safari agency was very helpful and even printed some documents we had forgotten. We highly recommend them.

A wonderful guide and host
5/5

I have known Geoffrey for many years, first as a colleague within the safari industry, and more recently as an independent guide. He is an extremely knowledgeable, entertaining and capable host whom I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a trusted local, an intuitive guide and a roadworthy 4x4 - and for whom booking with the guide directly is a priority. He has taken wonderful care of me and my family and friends on safari in the Maasai Mara and Amboseli, always avoiding the crowds and bringing out the very best of the destination, with deep inside experience. Geoffrey stands as a beacon of hope for other aspirational local guides wanting to start their own businesses, and I wish him well

Informative
5/5

We did the 2 Days / 1 Night Private Safari (Tarangire + Maasai crater + Ngorongoro Crater), and it was a highlight of our trip to Tanzania.

On Day 1, we explored Tarangire National Park, which was full of wildlife—huge herds of zebras, so many elephants, and even lions. The landscape with the giant baobab trees was just beautiful. Lunch inside the park was a really nice touch, and in the afternoon we visited a Maasai, which was such a unique and eye-opening cultural experience. That night, we stayed at a lovely lodge in Karatu with a great dinner and a show.

On Day 2, we headed into the Ngorongoro Crater, and wow—it was breathtaking! We got to see hippos up close by the water, more lions, and so many other animals in such a stunning setting. Having a picnic lunch by the hippo pool felt surreal.

Both of our guides were absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, and they made us feel so welcome the entire time. The food, organization, and overall experience were excellent.

If you’re looking for a short safari that still gives you a full taste of Tanzania’s wildlife and culture, I highly recommend this trip.

So nice caring and kind! Really good job
5/5

I would totally recommend this company and our driver!!!

Masai Mara was our highlight and already on the first evening we saw so many animals. Also our driver put so much effort into finding the animals we asked him for that was really appreciated.

The thing I would change about our tour is the one day Lake Nukuru part. It’s a long drive for only 2-3 hours in the park. For us it wasn’t worth it. I would totally recommend another day in Masai Mara or 2 days in Lake Nukuru to make the drive worth it.

Another highlight was the island visit after Lake Nukuru. Doing a walking safari was so much fun!! Would totally recommend to book on top if you visit Lake Nukuru in the end.

Also it ended up being very cold and even rainy so if you go in August it’s really important to bring warm clothes and a rain coat!

Unforgettable
5/5

The experience couldn’t have been better.
Mohamed is a great guide. Thanks to his professionalism, we managed to see the Big Five. A huge leopard with her cubs, posing majestically on a rock very close to us, a cheetah and a lioness hunting, and above all, I was able to fulfill my dream of seeing rhinos.
Mohamed was always attentive, making sure we were comfortable and that we saw as much as possible. He worked very hard to help me achieve my dream, and I am deeply grateful to him.
All the accommodations were excellent, and the staff was very kind. Sleeping in the Serengeti is truly wonderful.
Asante sana!
