Clare is a Miracle Worker!
I was sooo late in starting my plans for Africa that it's amazing I got booked into anything, much less the trip we ended up with! I first contacted Clare at Wild Wings on May 8, 2025 about a 5 day safari in Kruger. After a few days, I asked her if she booked Caped Town...she did. Oh please add that. A few days later, I asked if she did Victoria Falls....she did...add that. Then a few days later I asked about Zambia and Zimbabwe, Mana Pools and South Luangwa to be exact...she could do these...ok, add, please. Well, she worked wonders and got us to all of the places I requested. We also stayed in Hwange for a few days to wait for availability at Mana Pools....we enjoyed our stay there and saw lots of animals. We did our first walking safari (with big male elephants) there too. Anyway, everything was put together so well and soooo many changes that I requested were made successfully. I'm sure a was a big pain, but Clare stuck with me and got us everything we requested. We were having a problem with our online payments too, and she was very patient with that. It was really great!!! And she was really great!!! Oh, we arrived Sept 1, 2025 to give you an idea of how quickly we wanted to start our safaris. Thanks Clare and Wild Wings.

Everything went smoothly. We were picked up from the hotel, in a nice, comfortable car and a good driver. I was expecting a more basic hotel, but this one wasn't bad. In Masai Mara, they gave us a house, even though I'd really wanted a tent. Upon our return, we were driven back to our hotel in Nairobi.

From planning, through to the end of our safari Rob and the team at Tailormade were there to provide all necessary advice, information and support to deliver an exceptional vacation.
In the initial stages Rob took time to understand our requirements and provide invaluable advice, based on his experience, to develop an itinerary for our Kenyan safari. This itinerary resulted in smaller, more intimate lodges/camps and maximising our time in Kenya. The accommodation was carefully selected, Loldia House excelling in its attentiveness, quality and their amazing staff and Tangulia for being a unique bush camp where everyone is passionate and knowledgeable about the mara, wildlife and local people. From the planning to the start of our safari, communication with the team at Tailormade works well, with questions answered and amendments to the itinerary accommodated. Once on vacation/safari the logistics are managed by the on-ground team who provided an excellent service from “meet and greet” to the return to the airport. But in support of the on-ground team you have updates, welcome messages, etc from Tailormade and are able to contact Rob and the team should the need arise (which didn’t happen). Post vacation there is a welcome back/follow up with Tailormade for feedback regarding your vacation, which adds to the overall travel experience.

An absolutely perfect safari with incredible value.
I saw a leopard that had just finished its lunch, with blood still on its fur.
I saw a handsome lion up close.
I saw an elephant that got angry because we were talking and disturbed it.
I saw us having a meal in the car because Serengeti was too vast to find a dining spot.
And I saw the hyenas I’d been most eager to see.
Africa is truly amazing — a place where humans and nature coexist in harmony.
I’m so grateful to my friend who went through so many travel agencies and finally picked this one — the value for money is incredible! We had great accommodation every day and enjoyed every meal!
I also want to give a huge shout-out to our guide, Gilbert. He’s extremely professional, responsive, and wholehearted — like a walking encyclopedia, always explaining things to us. I learned so much! And thanks to him, we managed to spot the Big Five all in one trip — hahaha! He’s truly sharp-eyed and amazing at tracking animals. Absolutely impressive!

Francis was our driver and guide, and I’m completely sure that was what made the experience so wonderful. His kindness, charisma, and love for his work are incredible. Thanks to him, we saw the BIG 5, and it was wonderful. Ask for Francis when you go on your safari. The agency was good, they always answer when you need them and everything was good.

Successful experience
We had a good experience transferring from Johannesburg to our lodge in Pilanesberg with driver Sunny and on the return trip with driver Thomas. They were both punctual, friendly and safe drivers. We also had an excellent half-day safari experience with guide Kokie.

Highly recommended & customer-oriented Tour Operator
We booked a 2-days safari to Lake Nakuru & Naivasha + Hell's Gate, starting from Nairobi.
Sami, our guide, was very experienced, knowledgeable and he also customized the schedule of the safari on the go as the weather changed. He made a great call with this decision - this way the entire program (incl. boat) was possible and we got the most out of our short trip.
However, we were not aware that we had to pay an extra fee for the Hell's Gate NP as we booked a walking safari, but ended up having to pay for a bike safari instead. It turned out not to be a real problem, as it was great fun, but would have been nice to know.
All in all, the safari even exceeded our expectations and we're very happy.
