Dream Makers!! The best Uganda Safari company!!
5/5

I will always be grateful to Kajie Safaris because they allowed me to realize my big dream with a small budget.
I've been to Uganda in September 2019 and I spent 7 days and 6 nights with Ben as a guide and it was amazing.
Me and my wife have enjoyed every single day, road, lodge and camp they have chosen for us.
Starting with a low budget per person we have been doing Chimps Trekking, visiting Queen Elizabeth NP and Kazinga Channel, cruising Lake Bunyonyi and at the end of the week...Gorilla Trekking.
It has been a magical stay and we are lucky to have shared this experience with the AMAZING BEN! He was always paying attention at our needs and he is super keen and enthusiast on history, nature and culture of his country.

Ben and Kajie Safaris are super recommended for visiting Uganda.

Fantastic driver/guides, incredible trip
5/5

As a solo traveller, I contacted three safari companies 10 days (!) prior to my flight to Tanzania to enquire about a 7-day mid-range safari (through Tarangire, Serengeti, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro) on my preferred dates. All three companies replied within a day but I liked Orongai safari's offer the most, because Asser NNko, the managing director provided me with an authentic 7-day itinerary which I liked a lot. I felt relieved that everything was planned out for me by an expert so I did not have to worry about anything.

When I arrived to Arusha, one of Asser's representatives picked me up at the airport and transferred me to the Charity Hotel. On the first day, I visited Arusha National Park with Jackson who was my driver and guide of that day. Jackson kindly showed me giraffes, zebras, buffalos, flamingos, monkeys, and we were lucky enough to see Mount Kilimanjaro from a viewpoint. Jackson was very patient while I took photos. I also had a 1-hour walking safari with an armed ranger that day; - I loved the idea of walking a few meters away from the giraffes at the foothills of Mount Meru! An amazing experience.

Then the real adventure started with Simon Juma Salim who was my/our guide/driver for the rest of the week.
On day 2-6, I was supposed to join a group of five but thanks to Asser, I shared the safari jeep with only one other solo traveller. The three of us, we spent 1 day in Tarangire National Park, 2 days in the Serengeti, and one day in Ngorongoro. On my 7th day I visited Lake Manyara alone with our guide, Simon.
Simon Juma Salim, our guide was brilliant!!! At first the three of us made a decision together what to focus on during the safari, i.e., the great migration or the big cats. Both of us were mainly interested in the big cats, so Simon ensured that we definitely see lions, cheetahs and leopards by driving through their habitat in the Serengeti. Actually, I saw 31 lions, several cheetahs with babies, and a leopard with her baby! Thanks to Simon, I could also meet the Big Five and many many other beautiful animals. I was lucky enough to witness a male lion (and later vultures) eating a buffalo at Lake Manyara, and I could also see a tree climbing lion. Simon himself got very excited when we spotted an animal on the savannah, and Simon even helped me taking photos through binoculars! Simon is very passionate about his job, and he considers Serengeti as his second home. Of course, Simon always shared some interesting facts about the animals and vegetation as well as the different tribes. Simon also shared some stories of his life during lunch and dinner.
Simon is very friendly, kind-hearted and helpful; and his genuine personality contributed that I enjoyed this trip so much.

In relation to the accommodation selected by Asser, I loved the Serengeti Wildlife Camp (because I could hear hyenas, and lions roaring at night...) and the Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge (because of the beautiful views) the most. Asser via Simon our guide continuously asked for feedback about the accommodation (if I had not been happy with it Asser would have changed it).

I highly recommend Orongai safaris.

Wonderfull safari, beautiful people
5/5

We had a Great experience with our Guide Vincent (from Meru slopes) who s been amazing, we had the opportunity to learn a lot about the animals, the Masai, the culture. Vincent did his best always to find animals and we ve been lucky to see them all and from really close sometimes. His patience, involvment and 10 years experience as a guide was a huge advantage.

Our cook Richard was careful and had special care for me as a vegetarian, always preparing extra veggies.
They are both really smiling and in a happy mood it has been a real pleasure to spend this 6 days with them.

The organisation with Bartho has been a real pleasure as well, he is reactive to emails and answer the questions we can have before departure. They adapt to our special diet and alcohol preferences. Moreover absolutely everything is organized from the moment you arrive at the airport till you leave from there.... so relaxing! Thank you Bartho!

Lovely Tour with an Excellent Company
5/5

I booked a tour with Mega Wild Safaris knowing I was traveling as a single woman by myself to Uganda. Anne at Mega Wild answered all my questions before booking and made me feel really safe to take the 12 day tour. Upon arrival, my guide Onan picked was waiting for me right outside the airport to get my bag and to assist with getting a SIM card and changing money to local currency. He had a huge smile and made me feel at ease and welcome right away.

The tour had a similar itinerary as other companies that operated in the area, but it is truly the people that make the difference. My guide, Onan, answered all my questions and looked up any he didn't know. He had a true passion for his work and showcased how great the people of Uganda are as well as its wildlife. A few times I was treated to his singing and playing a musical instrument. I had some flexibility at some parts of the tour to add extra activities and chose the style of restaurant I wanted to visit. I highly recommend doing a community walk and touring a traditional village.

The transport van was comfortable and included a mobile hotspot with WIFI. Water was always available in the van and there was always the option to stop if I wanted to purchase a soda or some snacks along the way. Along the tour we would stop to pick up some local produce to snack on which was always fresh and yummy. I opted for mid-range lodging which meant a room to myself with a flush toliet, bed, mosquito net, shower (hot water), electricity and the ability to charge my phone/camera. All the lodges selected by Mega Wild were comfortable with very attentive staff. I had better service (hospitality and serving of meals) at the lodges in Uganda than I have at any US hotel. Lodges had WIFI in the central but not in the rooms. This didn't matter since by the end of the day I just wanted to sleep anyways.

If you a looking for a tour company that makes you feel cared for and a staff that LOVE what they do - choose Mega Wild Safari. In the tourism business, the people make all the difference and that is what sets Mega Wild apart. The staff is top notch and they have a great relationship with lodges and operators of difference excursions along the way.

Review about Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve by Andrea

Being a national park the animals are more spread out and there was definitely a drive or two we didn’t see much, but the bush walk was amazing.

Amazing wildlife viewing and luxury accommodations

The reserve I was originally supposed to stay at closed unexpectedly, but Indigo Safaris was on top of it and booked me at Amakhosi instead and I am so glad they did! It was the highlight of my three weeks in Africa. The accommodations were luxurious, food was delicious and staff so welcoming to a solo traveler. I did not feel “alone” at all. And the game drives were phenomenal! The second half of my safari was at Rhino Ridge that had equally luxurious accommodations, but being in a larger park we did not get as many up close game drive encounters - the bush walk, however, got us so close to a rhino and her calf, we could have almost touched them (we didn’t! And the mama rhino obviously knew our guide and was comfortable with him.) RR was a larger place and not as easy to be a solo traveler, but still lovely. My only criticism is the limited WiFi.
