Review about Tarangire National Park by Linda S
Overall rating
5/5

My favorite park - Tarangire is gorgeous, full of animals to see with minimum driving. Artificial ponds have been created to support the population of animals. This park has lots of Baobab trees, which the elephants love. So there is a high concentration of elephants in the park. We couldn't get tired of watching the babies and moms in the river. We also got tremendous photos of a cheetah, ostrich, zebras, gazelles. The Tarangire Safari Lodge provided very comfortable tents for us, as well as a gorgeous stone lodge holding a comfortable lounge area, restaurant, bar and outdoor patio overlooking a tremendous view. Food was buffet style and quite good at all meals.

Review about Serengeti National Park by Linda S
Overall rating
5/5

We spent the night at :Embalakai Camp in the Serengeti, so we had 2 days to explore. The huge expanse of the park meant you might drive quite awhile before seeing animals. But, they are all there and the drivers communicate to bring tourists to the best viewing spots. We were thrilled with everything we saw: lions eating a zebra (and vultures waiting their turn); a leopard and two cubs in a tree; cheetah scanning for game close to the road; lots of antelope and gazelles; gorgeous birds, hundreds of zebra crossing the road - thousands of wildebeasts, etc. Given the size of the park, I felt two days was minimum.

Review about Ngorongoro Crater by Linda S
Overall rating
4/5

The crater is well known for it's natural beauty and high concentration of animals available. As a result, it is the site of lots of day trippers. We got there early, but after 10am the roads were crowded with vehicles. When a lion was spotted, the drivers communicated with each other and everyone converged on the spot. We had dozens of vehicles parked in both directions trying to see the lions. It took forever before the vehicles sorted themselves out and moved on. The park really needs to limit the number of vehicles in the park or establish firm rules about how long a vehicle can remain in any one spot. This was the only park where we saw a rhino - from a distance.

Review about Arusha National Park by Linda S
Overall rating
5/5

This was the only park where we say lots of blue monkeys swinging in the trees. We also spotted one group of Colobus monkeys who are only seen near/on Mt. Kilamanjaro. We saw a larger population of baboons than other parks. We were close to a group of Cape buffalo, giraffes and wart hogs. We got a 2 hour guided walking tour from the ranger there. This took us to a waterfall and he gave us good information about the animals.

About: Tanzania
The most amazing trip I've ever taken!
Overall rating
5/5

I put together an 8 day safari trip in Tanzania with African Scenic Safaris for a group of 20 immediate family and close friends. Our ages ranged from 15 to 77 and everyone had a terrific time. We stayed in a fancy lodge and many safari camps in tents. All accommodations were comfortable and enjoyable. We were astonished at how many animals we saw in a day - and how many totally ignored our vans. They are so used to tourists coming through, they just go about their business. We had lions take a nap in the shade of our vehicles. Herds of hundreds of zebra, thousands of wildebeasts who had to get out of our way as we passed through. Elephant moms with tiny babies taking a bath in the river near the road. Hyenas in a mud puddle in the road cooling off who reluctantly got up as we came through. Cheetahs scanning for game a few yards from the road. A giraffe who stood in the center of the road staring us down for over 10 minutes. The whole trip was comparable in cost to a European river trip. Camps were well sprayed, so we didn't have any problem with mosquitoes or flies. You can't walk around on your own, so very little exercise. The roads through the parks are unpaved and quite rough, so you have to be able to bounce around quite a bit all day every day. We especially enjoyed a visit to a tribal Masaai village and an opportunity to meet the people there and go in their homes. All guides/drivers in Tanzania are required to attend 3 years of college to get a degree in wildlife and be certified by the government. So you are guaranteed you will have knowledgeable guides from any company. Take your children - your grandchildren for al trip of a lifetime!

I did a 4 day safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater national parks. Each were great. They complimented each other with their variety of plants, animals and terrain.
