Ozon is a well-organized tour operator with a highly competent team.
5/5

First off: If you're unsure whether Tanzania is the right country for you: The country, nature, and people are simply amazing!

We (two couples) took the classic Tanzania trip from the end of October to mid-November 2025: Mountains, Safari, Zanzibar.

We worked with Ozon Light on-site and were extremely satisfied!

We booked some things ourselves:

- Flights
- Hotel for the stay between activities (Tanzania Safari Lodge: not cheap, but highly recommended)

- Flight Serengeti Seromera -> Zanzibar

- Hotel in Zanzibar (Shooting Star in Kiwengwa -> excellent, see separate review)

We had Ozon Light organize everything else as a complete package:

- Mount Meru (4 days)

- Kilimanjaro (Machame Route) (6 days)
-> Porter, guide, cook: They provided incredible service, including excellent food.
... Nevertheless, we were somewhat annoyed that the 'tips' (gratuities for the crew) were essentially fixed ($30 for guides, $20 for junior guides, $15 for cook and service porter, $10 for porter, each per day).

They certainly deserved it!

BUT: on top of that, there are almost $500 for Mount Meru and almost $1000 for Kilimanjaro (for four people, Machame Route with tents, 12 porters). This wasn't communicated. It's standard practice, but an add-on that needs to be factored in. (The other providers didn't mention this either, so no star deduction)

- Safari (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Central Serengeti (Tukaone Camp: A unique experience. Elephants roam around the camp at night)

Everything went perfectly. For the safari, it's best to ask for guide "Denis" .
He's incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly (he knows pretty much all the animals and plants).
Ozone very flexibly incorporated our wishes and our own bookings into a professional program. We were a little apprehensive about transferring so much money in advance to a local provider in Tanzania. But our concerns were unfounded.

The price/performance ratio was very good.

All the staff were top punctual and dedicated.

General: At the end of October, the animal density in the Central Serengeti is incredible. However, there's absolutely nothing going on at the Maru River. Be sure to do your research and get advice from Ozon.

The same applies to the mountains: In November, you can easily experience three days of heavy rain on Kilimanjaro (that's what happened to us). So late in the year Perhaps the Marangu Route (with huts) is preferable. According to the guide, August/September would be better for Machame with camping (Hindsight is 20/20).
Again, get advice from Ozon.

Mosquitoes were practically nonexistent. Note: For the guides, porters, etc., it's a relatively well-paid job. So don't be ashamed to accept service.

A Safari Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

This incredible journey was made possible by Agnes's meticulous planning. She was incredibly thorough and patiently answered every single one of my questions. When I was unsure about hotels, she listed the features of each one for me. The itinerary she designed was perfectly logical, and she promptly resolved any minor issues that arose during the trip. A wonderful surprise was that she communicated via WeChat, which is immensely convenient for Chinese tourists.

Before the tour began, Benson provided us with a detailed briefing. After the trip concluded, he met with us and carefully listened to our feedback.

I must give a special mention to our driver-guide, James. He was absolutely fantastic! Thanks to him, on our very first African safari, we managed to spot the Big Five! James demonstrated a great sense of pacing throughout the journey, allowing us to efficiently view all the wildlife. I told James I wanted to see a cheetah and some "action". With his eagle eyes, he immediately located a cheetah, and we witnessed the incredible sight of it hunting – it was truly amazing! We also saw not one, but two leopards, as well as a black rhinoceros, which is no easy feat! James is a superb driver, a top-tier tracker, always punctual, and consistently kept the vehicle in perfect condition.

Overall, this was a truly unforgettable journey. I will forever cherish the memories of the elephant herds against the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, the breathtaking sight of flamingos in flight, the rare black rhino at Lake Nakuru, and the magnificent lions, cheetahs, and the two leopards we were so lucky to see in the Masai Mara!

I highly recommend Classic Explorers! I can't wait to go on another safari adventure!

Shannon was brilliant from the start, she worked with us to make sure we had an itinerary that we were happy with, took stuff out and added stuff in to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. Value for money was also fantastic. Communication was flawless and we had the trip of a lifetime. We would 100% recommend booking with Shannon at Indigo Safaris!

An unforgettable experience in the heart of the Serengeti!
5/5

We went on a two-day safari in the Serengeti and it was simply extraordinary. The organization was impeccable: everything was handled with great efficiency and kindness. Our guides, Emma and Geremy, were truly exceptional—very knowledgeable, helpful, and always ready to share interesting facts and explanations about the park's wildlife and nature.

The accommodation in the Serengeti was magical: sleeping in a tent under a sky full of stars and hearing the lions roar in the distance was a feeling we will never forget.

The return journey from the Serengeti to Kilimanjaro airport was a bit long and winding, but after such an intense and authentic experience, we can say it was absolutely worth it.

An adventure we recommend to anyone who wants to experience the true essence of Africa! 🌍🦁

Expectional.
5/5

September was quite the month for me and my family mostly because we got to have a trip of a lifetime when we visited the Serengeti national park and The Ngorongoro crater. And all this would have been possible without Evaline and Kazee our tour guide. We had the most thought out safari and kazee’s personality through the entire trip made the experience even more wonderful. We also really appreciated the fact that Eve on Safari is run by Evaline, a young lady powering through in a male dominated industry! It just made it even the more special. I’d love to return soon and I could choose a better tour operated for my next Safari!
