I booked an 8 day Kenya/Tanzania safari for my 2 children and I. Purity was amazing to work with prior to leaving my home country. She was very responsive and even went to the embassy on my behalf when I was having problems with my visa. However, once on the safari things started to go wrong. We were picked up from Nairobi and took the long drive to Masai Mara, we did an evening game drive that first day and was brought to our tent camp for the night. Camp was very basic, only had working electricity in the main cafeteria area, so had only a few hours to charge devices. The 2nd day was a full day game drive and visit to Masai village which was wonderful. Day 3 (which was my birthday) is where the itinerary changed. We were supposed to visit Lake Nakuru for a safari boat tour, but that was canceled, there were no other plans for the day besides to drive back to Nairobi and go to a hotel, the next day the plans were to drive from Nairobi to Tanzania and check into hotel upon arrival. That was 2 days back to back filled with just driving. That was not fair to my kids or myself as that was not in the itenerary and I did not pay for 2 days of driving. I emailed purity as I was unsure of what to do and she apologized for the inconvenience. I decided to cancel and book with a different company as I really did not want to spend the entire next day driving. I asked to be dropped off at the airport and took a flight to Tanzania and was picked up from another tour company and had an exceptional experience. Essentially I paid more for the 3 days I was with this company than the 5 days with the second one. The food provided was very subpar, for lunch having boxed sandwiches with cucumber and tomato. Our tour guide was nice however not very helpful with telling us about the things we were seeing. It was a very frustrating experience to say the least, but I am glad it ended on a more positive note with a different company. Please do your research prior to booking. Research the lodges, the amount of driving that will be done and if possible request a specific tour guide. I was hoping for a very positive learning experience for my kids and that was not the case. I also requested a hot air balloon ride over the Masai Mara and was told that would be available at an extra cost and was not available to us while there.

Choose them and you will never get wrong!
Their service is really outstanding, Jong never delay replying to us. He knows what we expected, where we want to visit and gave us good advice. He impressed us so much compare with other safari specialist. Solomon is their driver head and he is professional as well. He never disappoint us and always tries his best to show us around the park. We felt safe, comfortable to go safari with him. We love him!! Please you should pick them if you don't have any idea, they are number 1 choice!

I had to book a last minute safari tour because I needed to cancel the current company that I was with. Mafie adventures responded promptly with an itinerary and reassurance that they could pick my children and I up from the airport that evening. When we landed, he was there waiting, dropped us off at the lodge we were staying in for the night, and had the remainder of the plans booked for the 5 days we would be with them. It was an amazing adventure. We visited 4 different parks, we’re provided hot meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, had an amazing chef, and our driver Sam was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the trip. Would highly recommend booking with Mafie adventures. Just remember to bring cash for payment.

A safari much beyond our expectation
Jong arranged a safari beyond our expectations. Everything was perfectly arranged including our driver guide, hotel, vehicle, itinerary and their service was outstanding. We saw unlimited animals which we did not expect! Recommend them so badly.

An incredible experience climbing to Lenana Peak of Mount Kenya. Highly recommend!
My partner and I just completed an incredible 4-day trek to Mount Kenya, organised by Bushtroop Safaris, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We climbed up the Naro Moru route and down Sirimon which was beautiful but very challenging on summit day.
Jacqueline was very helpful and responsive, always answering our questions very quickly. Everything went very smoothly and we felt very well taken care of.
Our guiding team, led by Peterson, were excellent. They made sure we were safe, had fun, were fed very well and helped us to reach the summit.
We chose to go with Bushtroop Safaris as we were looking for a more affordable way to climb to Lenana Peak, Mount Kenya. The trip was considerably cheaper than other providers but there was no compromise of safety or comfort. The only difference we could tell between this and another travel agent was that we took public transport to and from the mountain, but this was well organised so not a problem.
Overall an amazing experience that we would thoroughly recommend to those with a good level of hiking fitness.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Sander, Ann, our driver Moses and the entire Grassrootz Adventures company for an unforgettable trip to beautiful Uganda! Our journey to Uganda was long, scheduled for March 2020, we had to postpone the trip 2 times due to covid, but finally, in October 2022, it took place. We have been to several places. First of all, this is the forest of Bwindi with beautiful mountain gorillas. We also visited Lake Bunyoni, Lake Albert, cruised the Nile and hiked to Murchinson Falls. Our trip went smoothly, Grassrootz staff always promptly resolved all issues. We regret only one thing, that we had so little time in this beautiful country. We wish prosperity to Grassrootz Adventures and the pearl of Uganda! Highly recommended to other travelers.

professinal, reliable, fun
we booked a father-son - 4 day - safari.
first off, all, we were helped before and after the booking, working with flexible, smart, reliable people.
on the morning of day 1 we were met by our safari expert guide - Julius, who from there on was by our side, supporting every wish or request, showing professionalism during the safari in the Maasai Mara and in lake Nakuru.
Safari was great - especially the camp in Maasai Mara.
we saw almost every animal from up close and were very content with the whole trip.
on the way back to nairobi we stopped at lake NAIVASHA for a shoer boat safari which was worth a while

Dream adventure to remember

I was very pretty Scared, Nervous, Afraid and had many Uncertainties as well as Paranoid that something bad might happen about the Tour and about Salimu A. Bakar & safaritoursafrica, the Company as Whole!
