Humala River Lodge Experience
5/5

During early January 2019, my husband and I went on a Safari holiday, which was arranged by Go Touch Down Travel …. What an experience! It could not have been better. It was a trip of a lifetime – far more than our expectations. They had every day planned for us. There was a maximum of 6 people in each vehicle, ensuring that we were very comfortable.

We started our Safari at Humala River Lodge. We were met at the gate by our guide (Richard). We travelled to the Lodge in a safari vehicle, giving us our first game drive. Richard had a lovely sense of humor and patiently pointed out the animals and bush, telling us more about their habits. Arriving at the Lodge was an eye opener.

The accommodation was really great. We had our own very luxurious bungalow, surrounded by bush and on the river bank. It was wow inside – spacious and very comfortable and only a short distance from the main building.

The main building was beautifully furnished, and we had a very warm welcome, being briefed about what to expect. The meals were to die for – the chef certainly know what he was doing. The pub area created a great, relaxing atmosphere and encouraged chilling with new and old friends. We were also entertained at the bhoma by the staff singing and dancing around a bon fire, while having a real African braai.

Richard took us on two bush drives a day. One very early in the morning bringing us back just in time for a late brunch. Then we had time to relax and lull around the pool to be treated with a late lunch/finger snacks before going on another game drive, stopping for some drinks in the bush. A beautiful supper was served at 19h00 in the evening (once again the chef had outdone himself). Thereafter relaxing and mingling in the pub, sharing the sights of the day.

We were sad to leave Humala River Lodge after only 3 days.

It was a very great adventure, Antony was a great driver and he showed us the big five at our Game Drives. Tazama Africa Holidays was a very good  partner for us they made all our whishes possible. The accomodations were a dream, luxury and the meals were fantastic. We had a lot of special wishes line the dates of the beginning and the end and the place where we wanted to be picked up and all was possible and no Problem.
We enjoyed the journey very much

Grassrootz exceeded all expectations.
5/5

After contacting 7+ operators, we decided to go with Grassrootz. It was an easy choice with Sander's quick responses and a great interactive itinerary that updates with each change, including price. Although there were cheaper options, we felt that Grassrootz would take better care of us. We wanted a completely private, custom 15 day tour and Grassrootz made it happen. Some other operators responded to my request with unrelated, pre-packaged group tours. Grassrootz took my proposed itinerary and worked out what was good, what was skippable, and what was missing or could be improved. We went to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls with chimp tracking, Lake Albert for a night, Queen Elizabeth/Ishasha, Bwindi, and Lake Mburo. Our favorite parks were Bwindi with the Gorillas and chameleons, as well as Fort Murchison with their wildlife. DO THE GORILLAS. It was absolutely incredible and well organized, a great example of tourism revenue benefiting nature and the community. We also stopped at a place called ride 4 a woman, you can them out online, it is a great group of ladies! We ended up doing a Lion tracking experience at Queen Elizabeth and I would highly recommend this to everyone. You follow around rangers with the satellite antenna to track the lions with radio collars. The money goes to help with the conservation fund and you get to go off-road, with rangers, to get up close and personal with the lions they are studying. Our lucky surprise was that the matriarch lion and my mom had the same name. We would also recommend the murchison falls river cruise as well as the Kazinga Channel cruises, amazing wildlife. Our driver, Bob Magezi, was one of the best parts of our trip. He was knowledgeable about everything, especially birds, and if he didn't know an answer he had a book on hand to find the answer for us. He was able to tailor some of our drives/walks to give us the best chances of seeing the animals we wanted, and even getting us in the gorilla group that had a 5 day old baby. He also looked out for the ladies in my group when it came to picking places with better toilets during some of the longer drives. If we return to see Kidepo valley and another visit to the gorillas, we will definitely use Grassrootz again and request Bob Magezi as our driver. You will not be disappointed with Grassrootz, I promise.

Exciting first experience in the wild
5/5

Patrick, the guide, came to pick us up on time - 3am - in Jo'burg and drove us to Pilanesberg and through Pilanesberg. We had a very exciting experience through the park viewing 4 out of 5 big 5s (we missed the cats).
The guide is very competent and helpful in explaining peculiarities about animals and environment.

Good Communication, Very Enjoyable Safari, Well Paced Tour, Friendly Efficient Guide!
5/5

My husband and I did a 12 day private tour, and our guide/driver was Moses. Communication during the booking process was good.

The tour was interesting, well-paced and included several different experiences to help ensure we saw a wide variety of wildlife and sights. A great deal of time on the road was necessary some days, but when not travelling the time was used wisely, either with game drives, boat cruises, rhino sanctuary tour, and also the chimpanzee and gorilla trekking, which was amazing!

We enjoyed our time in Uganda, and can highly recommend Terrain Safaris, in particular Moses, who is friendly, kind, knowledgeable and very efficient (also a very safe driver!) Thanks for everything!

Amazing Kilimanjaro Trek - Lemosho Route 7 Days
5/5

My wife and I booked a 7 days climb Mt. Kilimanjaro Lemosho route. Noel from Enosa did a great job. He personally handled all the logistical of our trip (i.e. taxis to/from airport, hotel, transport to Kilimanjaro) without any issues and always on time. Noel was responsive, and quick to address any questions we had before booking. He answered every e-mail with unbelievable promptness. Agreements about the price and timing of our trip was achieved quickly.

The adventure was led by Pascal and Regan (Guides) who were very professional. They had over 10 years’ experience in managing the climb and they went the extra mile to make sure everything went smooth. They knew exactly how fast (slow) to go and where to take breaks to enjoy the gorgeous views. They were very attentive to each of us on the climb and made sure we stayed together and check that everyone was healthy and feeling strong. On day 4 we arrived at camp early and we played cards with guides and a couple of porters. They taught us some Tanzanian card games and we had fun all afternoon creating a special bond with the team. On that note, the food was also amazing! Our cook, made us, healthy meals every day that were delicious! I brought way too many snacks. Enosa also provided ample snacks which were nice and differed from day to day.

Summit day was naturally the most amazing day of the trip and the guides went above and beyond on that part of the trek. The overall climb itself was straight forward and not too difficult, except for the summit night, which is tough. Our guides and porters did a great job to make sure we reached the summit. They even offered to warm my hands as they froze at Stella Point.

When tipping I recommend giving the guides and porters individual envelopes. They are better in dealing in cash, which is true about everywhere in Tanzania. I took out cash from a local Tanzanian ATM with no transaction fees before the trek. This was something that I figured out before I left, but many people do not.

Enosa puts you up in a very nice hotel which was greatly appreciated after 7 days of hiking.

In summary, the group of porter's, guides and cook engaged for our climb did everything in their power to make our trip success and we had an awesome time.

5/5

We visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangiri with Suricata Safaris and got service beyond expectations. Our guide Mandela was great as well as our cook Salim. Wildlife was great, we saw lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, zebras, gnus, giraffes, rhinos, hypos, elephants, baboons, different antelopes and gazelles etc. The weather was fine, great migration just started and the scenery was amazing.
